New Belgium Tour de Fall

New Belgium Tour de Fall

New Belgium’s love for beer, bikes and benefits is best described by being at Tour de Fat. Our love for Cascade and Amarillo hops is best tasted in our Tour de Fall Pale Ale. We’re cruising both across the country during our favorite time of year. Hop on and find Tour de Fall Pale Ale in fall 2014.

3.5 Bottle. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Grapefruit and summer fruit aroma with light malt. Grapefruit and light summer fruit flavor. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and light summer fruit lingers with light pine and light malt.
3.3 Nice crisp amber coloured body with a bit of a copper glow and a thinnish tan head. Aroma of malt, nuts, caramel and a fresh cascade hoppiness with hints of pine. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavour at first with a touch of bitterness and a bit of cardboardie malt and showing some light sweetness at the tail end as well. Aftertaste shows some nice robust hoppy flavours and a little earthiness along with a touch of extra brown sugar in the mix. Overall, a nice beer with some noticeable hops and not too much depth all around. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle brought to a hockey game by Ken on 24-September-2014 - Thanks Ken!
2.9 Almost clear amber with beige fine head and lacing. Weird bitter/burnt taste up front. Lack of depth and spice notes. Cola medicinal taste. Unpleasant aftertaste. $9.99/multi sixer at Publix, Boca Raton Florida
3.3 12 oz bottle: Aroma has got a nice fruity hop note. Appearance is lightly amber golden with a thick white head that diminishes. Pretty nice hop note here with dry aftertaste.
3.3 12 oz bottle: Aroma has got a nice fruity hop note. Appearance is lightly amber golden with a thick white head that diminishes slowly. Taste has got a nice big hop note with a little of malt texture. Palate is lightly dry with a nice hop aftertaste. Overall, Nice stuff. Cheers!
3.2 Unusual flavour profile. Pours a clear light amber with a soapy off white head. The nose is piney and citrus hops with light toasted cara malts and light floral notes. First sip is a bit sweet with toasty malts and caramel malts. The hops have basic citrus fruit notes but come off as metallic and soapy. Boring finish with the metallic hop taste throughotu. Overall, a very standard pale ale.
3.2 Bottle Mighty Matanuska Brewfest: Poured a golden color with white head. Nice fresh floral hops filled my nose. Taste was hops, watery, very mellow, and refreshing. A let down compared to the aroma.
3.5 Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. The aroma is sweet malts, soft floral and citrus hop notes, chocolate very faint in the background. The flavor is bready malts, citrusy, floral. Good beer.
3.8 Well balanced with caramel, cinnamon and all-spice highlights. Good cold-day all day IPA
3.4 12oz bottle 11/29/14 (Jewel Mix A Six)-40° in Shaker-Pours a clear amber with a nice off white head. Aroma of hops. Taste of hops, malt, and biscuit. This light to medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite smooth.
3.3 Light amber. Grassy hops on the nose. Biscuity malt and a decent dose of grassy, earthy hops. Crisp and refreshing pale ale. Nice everyday drinking ale.
4.0 22 oz bottle- Pours mostly clear amber with a nice fluffy white head that mostly sticks around. Aroma is nice, typical New Belgium hops, I totally smell Rampant in this, which is a good thing, i love that beer, tropical fruity, pine, some sweetness. Taste is the same, they must use the same hop profile in each of these, nice tropical fruitiness, mellow yet assertive bitterness, sweet well integrated malt. Much better than I was expecting, for some reason I thought this would be boring.
4.0 12 oz bottle from a case bought at work. Aroma is piney, earthy hops--smells pretty fresh. Pours clear copper with a thick cream-colored head with excellent retention, leaving curtains of lace. Taste is biscuity, earthy, wet river rock. Light bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. A very good straight pale ale, but I’m not sure why they put it out as an autumn seasonal. Seems like a late spring/early summer type of beer to me.
3.1 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear dark copper with a half finger off white head. Average lacing and head retention. Aroma is very biscuity with heavy touches of pine. Caramel and toffee as well. There is a very good balance between malt and hops. Flavor is very similar to the aroma. Lots of earth and pine backed up by biscuit malt. More toast and caramel with some lingering pine. Bitterness is just moderate with lingering sweetness. Overall, a nice if slightly unimpressive beer. Malty and toasty but I’ve had better from New Belgium.
3.4 Bottle - average size foamy head, dark clear copper color, moderate citrus hop aroma and flavor, balanced well with toasty malts, not bad overall but missing a little "pop"
3.4 355 ml. bottle. Pours golden brown with a nice beige head. Aroma of citrus, malt, and caramel. Taste is citrus, malt, pine, and caramel. Nothing bad, nothing outstanding.
2.8 Cascade and Amarillo Hops; dominate too much as to render too bitter for my palate.
3.3 Like most New Belgium beers its good but not great. The use of hops created light citrus and earthy notes; subtle and easy drinking pale, but otherwise unremarkable.
3.6 Aroma: Herbal hops, subtle spice; cinnamon or allspice kind of thing? Bread crust-like malt. Flavor: Spicy, herbal hops, and sweet, light caramel malt. Moderate bitterness. Toasty aftertaste. Not really any fruity hop character.
3.7 On tap at Liquid Bread Gastropub, Campbell CA. Really enjoyed this sessionable brew but, I must say, it tasted more like a lager than an ale. The nose of floral hops is prominent. However, on the palate, the light, floral hops taste is moderated by a bready malt base very reminiscent of a Munich style lager. Not earth shattering but very drinkable and satisfying.
3.7 Clean and sharp golden blond pour with two fingers of white head. Citrusy and woody with a nice biscuity malt profile and clean finish.
3.2 Rated on 8-09-2014 (Bottle - Enjoy by 14Dec14) This beer forms a medium sized smooth head with a lengthy retention, transparent amber body, lively, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing adorns my glass. The aroma is citrus, grassy hops, citrus fruits, spicy, and some malt. The flavor is moderate bitterness, citrus hops, citrus fruits, and some malt. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. This beer is very quaffable and has a lingering hoppy/bitter aftertaste. It is a a beer worth trying.
3.5 Tasty. Mild hop aroma with a hint of grain. Nice bronze color with good clarity. High carbonation and medium weight. Hops up front leaning toward pine and a soft malt background. Blended well.
3.5 Poured from bottle into a snifter Appearance – The beer pours a copper-mahogany color with a small white fizzy head. The head has a lighter level of retention, fading relatively quickly to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is quite nice with a very nice blend of sweeter dark fruits and sugary smells mixed with some more malty and hoppy aromas. The darker fruit aromas are mainly of a cherry and plum with the sugary being of a caramel and toffee smell. The malty aromas consist of a slightly bready and cracker like aroma all while the hoppy smells are mostly of an piney nature, but with them also containing some smells of an earthy and citrus as well. Taste – The taste begins with a rather drier flavor with a mainly lightly roasted and cracker like taste. There is a bit of a hop of a pine nature right upfront which gains intensity as the flavor advances further on. Along with these flavor is a hint of a caramel sweetness which quickly fades from the taste after the initial sip of the brew. All while the caramel fades, more hop of an herbal nature as well as some pine comes to the tongue, leaving a rather dry and decently hopped flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather average to just above average. For the drier flavors of the brew the feel is rather appropriate and makes for a more crisp and refreshing drier drinking brew overall. Overall – A decent, more crisp, and drier brew that accentuates some more earthy and piney hops. While not what I would call super balanced, as it lacked some residual sweetness to balance the malt and hop, it was a rather decent brew overall.
3.6 From a bottle... Aroma is built upon an impressive array of hops. Initial taste hits one with a preponderance of hops; a hint of "dark" malt is what makes this a "Fall brew." Hops remain on the palate.
3.4 Tap at the hotel in Tempe. Quite a dark copper pour. Mild fruity hop aromas. More cascade than amarillo, but at a nice level for an APA. Malt-forward, but it actually sort of works in this one. Perfectly nice beer.
3.5 Pours a darker caramel color big frothy head. Aromas of citrus, caramel, apricot, peach. Flavors of citrus, grass, caramel, floral. Medium sweet with a light dry finish. Decently balanced.
3.9 Pours a clear golden brown on tap with nice cap of off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma is big resinous hops, clean and grassy, wet hop characteristics. Taste is bittersweet caramel with grassy citrus fresh hop over the top. Mild carbonation, easy to drink, nice beer.
3.3 Bottle into a glass. Pours a copper color with a white head. Malty smell with a touch of hops. Light, clean mouthfeel. Caramel and biscuit with a nice hop bitterness on the back end.
2.4 Bottle poured into pint glass. Didn’t really care much for this american pale ale. Looks great, does taste rather fall-y though.
