3.5Wow, if I smelled this blindfolded, I would think that I was smelling honey with some cinnamon mixed into it! I'm not sure why this smells so strongly of fresh honey. The body is a beautiful crystal clear medium copper with a small white head. The honey follows through in the taste but just upfront. What really hits is the heat in the back of the mouth and throat (almost no heat upfront which is strange). The cinnamon-heavy pumpkin spice is all over the mouth without being too much. The chili heat starts to dominate after awhile, but if I had to rank this as a chili beer, it's probably the best one I've ever had. Finishes honey sweet and hot. Quite a unique pumpkin beer!
3.5opalescent orange colour, large, though not too stable off-white head; aroma and taste of malty, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and chili pepper notes; quite strange though not bad at all
3.4surprisingly not bad for a pumpkin beer. cinnamon, nutmeg, and habanero aftertaste
3.6Deep straw color, white head, sweet pumpkin pie spice with a little spicy aroma. Strong pumpkin pie spice, toasty maltiness warming spice flavor. A week balanced excellent pumpkin ale!
3.5Definitely orangey color to the pour with good white head with a slight orange tint and good lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and pumpkin pie spices coming through. Took a sip and the aftertaste kicked my butt! I grabbed the can to verify what my taste buds were telling me, and, yes, there is chili peppers in it! While it may put off some, the slight burn in the mouth was actually refreshing and palate cleansing.
3.5Can. Clear orange with a thick, frothy, white head that lasts and laces. Aromas of cinnamon, chili peppers, allspice, clove, and light toasted malt. Flavor is the same, big big spice notes upfront followed by some subtle toasted malt ones. Medium bodied, smooth with a dry, spicy finish. It's a one note beer really, big spice both the cinnamon, allspice, clove kind and the hot habanero kind so it's a complex one but it overpowers the other areas. It's a one trick pony of a beer but I like that one trick.
1.0Not liking the Spicy
1.2I did not read the description of this beer; I just tried it.
Did you ever have a bland, boring piece of pumpkin pie and thought, eh. Did you ever think you know what if I put some habanero chilies on this pie? Would that be better? If yes, you will love this beer. If your the other 99.99%, skip this—awful combination.
3.6Draft. Poured hazy brown color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with very good lacing. Moderate pumpkin and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate spice sweet flavor with a moderate heat & sweet finish of medium duration. This beer met my expectations.
3.7Orange gold with foamy beige head
Aroma is mild grain
Flava is cinnamon and spicy peppery
Feels light crisp with nice fizzy zing
Finishes spicy peppery tingling some cinnamon notes
3.5Draft at Strangeloves. Nearly clear dark gold pour. Slim soft white head. Starts juicy. Pumpkin. Cinnamon. Than some heat in the finish. Felt the habanero fairly quickly and the heat kept building with each sip. Certainly kills the sweetness from the pumpkin spice. Much hotter than expected but it provides an interesting rollercoaster ride. Would try again ... but not as a session. Kinda extraordinary.
3.5[From recent notes] Sample from a 12oz can, thanks to staff at Incline Public House for sharing. BB: 16 Jan 2022. Up front, liking this a lot more than the Taft's Frisch's pumpkin beer I had earlier tonight. Paler in color, but more importantly, a lot more pumpkiny in flavor. Pumpkin spice, anyway. Maybe the paler malt base works better to accentuate that. Medium-plus body, but drinks lighter than the 6.4%. Crisp, lighter carbonation. Lighter to moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Solid, easy-drinking, somehow refreshing pumpkin beer.
3.0Poured a dark orange color, clear with a small off-white head. Honestly I don't know if this was sitting in my brother-in-laws fridge for too long or if my taste buds were shot, but I didn't really get a whole lot of heat in this one, in fact reading the description of this one makes me a bit shocked but I absolutely know it was the Atomic Pumpkin. Strange. Cinnamon, various other pumpkin pie spices, some pumpkin meat.
3.7Can pours a clear darker gold color with small white thin head that vanished leaving no lace anywhere. Smells of pumpkin pie, & crust. Tastes of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, pie crust, sweet caramel, and a hint of pumpkin, no chiles but some mellow heat. Light/medium body, tingly carbonation, coating mouthfeel and a spicy, warming (chiles) finish. Well this beer is pretty decent for a pumpkin/Chile beer. 👍
3.4(Bottle) Amber body with a slight haze and a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, spiced, and slightly spicy; cinnamon, light-smoked pepper, caramel. Flavor is sweet with cinnamon, and a dull hot pepper finish. Light to medium bodied, low carbonation.
2.5October 25th, 2020 - This is a brave brew, but for all its chutzpah, I think it is borderline undrinkable. But you know, that's true for me on every chili beer. Trust me, the idea of an unconventionally spiced pumpkin or vegetable beer had me speed walking to the refrigerator door. But on execution, the spice just makes this feel weird, and I rankle my nose and try to clear my palate with water each time I go back for another try.
3.8Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma is cinnamon and nutmeg with some chili. Flavor is caramel with cinnamon and nutmeg with a chili pepper finish. Lingering heat.
3.1Can pour, clear gold. Light pumpkin and apple aroma. Spicy up front with an almost air freshener approach to the pumpkin. Hints of nutmeg and clove, strong ginger notes the pumpkin is sweet and floral.
3.2Clear dark orange pour with a thin off white head. Aroma of earthy, sweet pumpkin, caramel, earthy hot pepper. Flavor is earthy pumpkin, caramel, coffee, cinnamon heavy pie spice. Light to medium body, fairly dry, hot feel, medium, to heavy, sharp carbonation. Decent overall, all spice and heat though.
4.1Light orange pour. Thick creamy foamy head. Hot spicy pepper with sweet pumpkin flavor. Hot spicy palate. Medium carbonation
4.0Robert: How can I get more?
1.5Intense cinnamon flavor that hides the hot pepper, heat sneaks up in the aftertaste. Way too much cinnamon to be good tasting.
3.3Poured into a 6oz sample glass. Carmel pour that had a clean, clear appearance with a head; however, the head vanished quickly. Caramel color that is pleasing for the fall season. All spice and cloves are present in the scent. Peppery bites and cinnamon are dominant in the initial taste. It mellows a bit with a sweeter, malty start, but a taste that is reminiscent of Goldschalger (so) the super hot and boozy liquor. Interesting to say the least. Cheers!
2.0Smooth pumpkin taste with spicy kick to back of throat
3.5Spicy & a touch hoppy & hot at the end. Pretty golden pour w/ a white head & decent lacing. The aroma is quite fall ish. The taste is kind of golden golden ale with a touch of heat in the finish. Interesting.
3.512 oz. can. Best by Jan 31 2021. Pours a medium, well retained, off white head, slight lacing, over a clear gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is pumpkin, cinnamon, mild chili, malt......taste is pumpkin, spice cinnamon, malt tones, moderate chili heat, slight bitter finish....mouth feel, medium body, mild alcohol, moderate carbonation. The chili heat is balanced by malts, cinnamon and pumpkin, making a drinkable beer.
3.5This beer taught me to read the bottle. Atomic did not equal pepper in my mind. Once I got over the shock of the peppers I enjoyed it. Good flavor with heat but not too much.
3.4Bottle at trailer park tasting. Clear amber color with white foam. Big pumpkin meat, cumin, chili pepper, fall spice aromas. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Big spicy hot chili pepper, caramel, pumpkin earthy flavors __ lasting pepper warmth to finish ____ good
3.5Cinnamon and pumpkin spice aroma and flavor with nice malty base. Noticeable burn on the throat when drinking. Not a big fan of the pepper in the finish and burn but good pumpkin flavors and descent beer.
