Brewed in a brewery not too far away and not too long ago... Imperial Stout Trooper is a full bodied stout with a majestic blend of seven different malts and Northern Brewer hops.

4.1 A: Pitch black with a quite small head. N: coffee, hint of berries T: Coffee, mullberry O: Very pleasant stout! Extremly well balanced beer!
3.2 I think it’s a 2011 or 12. I had high hopes for this beer but it didn’t age well. Very oxidized but probably very good fresh.
3.6 December 22, 2015 - bottle via trade from a long time ago, but not a galaxy far far away. Believe this is a 2011 bottle and saved this for the release of Episode VII that I saw tonight. Dark pour with limited head. Aroma was roasty, sweet and bit of alcohol. Taste was consistent with aroma, but also had a slight bitter finish.
3.0 Bottle. Black body with a short, tan head. Light aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate, licorice and char. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Taste of ash, char, licorice and light smokiness.. Average.
4.1 Dark brown pour, minimal head. Creamy mouthfeel, roastd malt, coffee, bittersweet bakers chocolate, cocoa in the aroma and taste. Lighter notes of dried dark fruit and black liquorice.
3.5 Dark brown/black with a tan head. Aroma is liquorice, dates, chicory. Medium bodied, lightly sticky mouthfeel, slightly fruity mouthfeel. Taste is liquorice, chicory, black currant.
3.9 2009 original storm trooper bottle as a gift from Dan. Thanks! Opened as my 31st beer on my 30th birthday (the one for good luck). Pours a dark brown with no head. Aromas are of dark fruits, cocoa powder, light cherry. Some caramel. The taste was sweet but not overpowering. Not too much oxidation for how old the beer is. Body is medium and carbonation is fairly light. Held up well.

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. aroma: lots of chocolate, soft roast, bit sweet, caramel, dried fruits. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: very roasted, some dark chocolate, bit dry, alcohol, hoppy bitterness. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, cocoa powder, dry, bit dusty, very hoppy, bitter finish, some alcohol.
3.8 At Rich’s Massive Cellar Emptying Tasting. 12/2013 deep black with a rusty tan he. Imperial Stout trooper New England is deep black with a rusty tan head. The nose is a meaty savory umami, pitted fruits & cacao. Licorice, bitter dark chocolate and some berry fruits in the finish. 2013 Past it’s best I think but still damn good.
4.1 From notes on 6/13/15 Dark medium thick pour. Poured with a small tan head. Sweet malt aroma. Very roasty flavor. Lots of chocolate taste.
3.8 2011 bottle, trade with runtime. Smooth and sweet, taste of chocolate, vanilla and rosted malts. Balanced and drinkable.
3.8 Arom has got notes of milk chocolate, nuts and mild christmasy spices. Taste is quite mild for a beer with notes of coffee, milk chocolate and salmiak. Very soft texture.
4.0 bottle. Thanks finol. Dark brown, brown small head. coffee, caramel aroma. sweet rich taste. Some coffee bitterness. Smooth feel.
4.1 Thanks finol! caramel, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, woody, vanilla, black, brown foam, hazy, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, full body, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish

4.1 Bottle @ Odense Tasting January, 2015. Trade with Heyta. Thanks. Pours black with a creamy head. Roast, coffee, salty licorice and ashes. Full bodied. Smooth and soft. Nice
4.2 This was the third beer to hit my palate this evening after an extremely floral IPA and Bourbon Stout, so opinions will surely vary in comparison to my experience: On tap at Eli Cannons, Middletown. Very strong coffee aroma, out of balance with the cacao, chocolate malt and vanilla on the nose. This year’s brew has a lighter head than previous one’s, minimal carbonation, broken down quickly by the presence of coffee. Served in a 12oz snifter. Most of all I was surprised that I didn’t get the slight burn from the alcohol followed by the plum characteristics that I’ve come to love and expect with this brew over the years. I’ll be sure to try it again, first brew on the palate, as soon as possible.
3.6 750 ml bottle to snifter (2011 vintage, shared by LitoIPA). Looks good; black with beige lacing. Smells of dark malt, dark chocolate, and roast. Tastes like it smells with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
4.3 An impossible beer to find, even in CT - props to all the ratebeerians out there for searching, trading, burglarizing, and whatever else it took to get those bottles. Anyway, IST has a great flavor if you like bitterness, with plenty of roasted malt and resin hop flavor. Assertive. It is really dominated by roasted malt, with bitter coffee and just a bit of chocolate malt. Pretty smooth. This was not crafted with balance in mind, but it’s delicious, and the intense roasty bitterness is palatable because they had the foresight to keep the ABV under 9%. An epic beer, worthy of the hype.
4.1 Sample at First Sunday. Incredible aroma that is rich and chocolatey and roasty malt. Flavor comes through as much the same, smooth and rich chocolate again. Subtle and smooth. Very drinkable.
3.6 From bottle. Pours near black and opaque. Robust dark malt flavor but as sweet as many a milk stout. Lingering flavor of dark roasted malts with little burnt quality.
3.6 375 bottle to taster at new glarus. More of a euro roast. Ok imperial stout. Nothing special.
4.0 Bottle. Pours pitch black with a thin mocca head. Aromas of very sweet fruits, vanilla, fudge, sweet chocolate and coffee. Taste is not as Extreme sweet fruits but still has alot of it, more roasted malt and coffee. Bit thin body sadly.
4.0 Bottle..pour is black with tan ..Nose is chocolate, cream, spice, roast..Taste is roast, soft, cream, chocolate
4.1 Pours inky black with a big frothy brown head. Aroma is rich roasted malts, a little mocha and a little dark chocolate. Taste is mild carbonation, rich roasted malts, bitter chocolate. Went so well with our steak dinner. Had a few years on it, alcohol was essentially non existent.
2.0 Big IPA smell, smells bitter. But first aroma is roasted coffee beans. Reddish head. Bitter taste, an IPA stout
3.8 Bottle pour. Black body, with a reddish head that disappears too quickly. Beautiful while it lasts. Smell is coffee, followed by cherries, and then some basic hops. Flavor is roast beans, blackberries, dark bread and some chicory spiciness. Even and well put together.
3.5 Thick black pour and decent tan head. Burnt chocolate aroma and milk and roastiness. Some chocolate and roasted flavors first but then a weird OFF! Bug spray in the middle to end. Ends sweet and roasty. Don’t know what that is but I might be able to keep the bugs off for awhile. Medium body light carbonation.
4.2 Dark brown black. Beautiful lace. Oily feel. Aroma of dusty mocha , mild cherry. Sweet tinge in the nose. Taste of burnt cookies, cocoa, slight red wine grape. This is big and bossy and really really good.
2.5 its a pretty good stout, though i didnt see what the fuss was about. awesome label though.
