Hearty and satisfying, our Coffee Stout is the ultimate full-bodied brew. Wisconsin water, roasted malts, and imported hops are the natural ingredients we use to brew this bier. Then cold pressed organic coffee from Just Coffee Co-op is infused into the brew.

Expect this bier to pour a deep creamy head over an ebony rich body. Notice the powerful malt bouquet balanced by a spectrum of extravagant flavor. Served at room temperature this Wisconsin Coffee Stout is guaranteed to warm even the coldest heart.

4.4 Dark and rich pour with a tan colored head with a taste of roasted coffee and a hint of chocolate, mild hops and not over powering in any respect, tasty.
3.0 12oz bottle to snifter. Cola colored with big pillowy frothy tan head. Light body and mild mannered. Biting carbonation much like a soda. Mild stout with moderate coffee.
4.3 Pours a beautiful dark dark brown with an impressive creamy head. Very nice. Smells of roasted coffee and some sweet dark malt. Tastes creamy smooth coffee and malt. I think I just pick up sugar in addition to the coffee instead of chocolate or molasses, etc. Just a delicious coffee roast with some well complemented sweetness. Smooth and delicious. I had the Kalamazoo Stout earlier today and found myself preferring that because of the more complex notes such as molasses and licorice. But for being a "coffee stout", it does that extremely well!
4.0 Poured from 12oz bottle into nonic pub glass, opaque very dark brown, reddish at the corners when held to the light, with light brown foam, lasting with lace. Great coffee aromas, even better flavours of malt, toasted brown bread, roasted barley, charcoal, chocolate, mellow breakfast coffee, cherry, plum, raspberry. Faint tartness and bright coffee-like acidity. Medium body and carbonation, relatively dry finish. Good long-lasting roasty aftertaste. Another delicious, well-balanced New Glarus brew.
4.3 Totally would have guessed 6-6.5% ABV on this. Pours pitch black with a thick rocky froth of cappuccino foam that hangs out a while and leaves numerous awesome looking webby rings of lace. Nose involves sweet molasses, toast, vanilla, marshmallow, and some light roasted coffee notes. Fairly sweet, decently bitter. Medium to full bodied, frothy, soft, rich, velvet on the palate, with a lengthy roasted and dark chocolate finish. I think this is fantastic. It doesn’t scream coffee, so those looking for an intense java fix may be disappointed, but for me the body is where this shines, especially considering the lower ABV. Thanks to a friend for throwing one my way.
4.1 Smells like burnt toast. Taste is toasty and malty with an aftertaste of sweet dark chocolate and mild coffee.
4.4 Jet black aroma of roasted barley and dark tan one finger head. Taste a ton like coffee and pretty good malt complexity.
3.4 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is roast and chocolate. Medium mouth, sweet roast, milk chocolate, light dryness, very good.
3.7 12 oz. bottles poured to snifters, displaying a black/brown hue, with a finger’s width of fairly lasting, tan head foam, and ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, with grain & malt, and subtle hints of treacle & dark licorice. Medium+ bodied, the taste began with some pleasant creaminess to the mouthfeel, then coffee, a little smoke & char, and moderate earthy & roasted bitterness that worked well with a lively carbonation. Thanks Jeff for the tasty share!
3.4 Bottle. Pours dark brown tan head. Nose/taste of coffee, cocoa, toasted dark malt. Lighter medium body. Mild roast.
3.8 "definitely smells and tasted like a dry irish underneath - the thin body being the only drawback of this otherwise very good brew. I was hoping for a BIGGER beer, but the plethora of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate flavors was nice. Maybe a touch of clove in the aroma too? Good, not great."
3.8 Reviewed from notes. Thanx Greg. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color. Thin quarter white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than forty five seconds. Lacing, yeah, I guess that was there, uh...kinda and in a messy sort of way (why the hell is every beer I’m having tonight has a messy sort of lacing?), sorry for the stupid disclaimer. The smell had a full roasted coffee bean conglomerated aspect of leading to a light dark chocolate and then a light milk chocolate. Both seem to stay subdued enough to not overdo anything whatsoever. The taste was roasty and sweet with a super nice bittering coffee underneath. On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body. The carbonation was there, but honestly not bad for the style and for me. There’s a light harshness that allows a light creaminess to pervade lightly on through and onto my tongue. Overall, I say this was a good American Stout that I would have again if I could get it. I’m glad I had the opportunity to try it and am slightly jealous of the state of Wisconsin to have this on a regular basis.
3.7 Black pour with a light tan head. Aroma is big coffee with notes of cocoa and roasted malts. Flavor is fairly robust for a low abv stout. Lots of coffee and roasted notes coming through. Very easy to drink but with plenty of flavor too. Nice stout.
3.5 black, clear, frothy, white foam, coffee, medium bitterness, soft carbonation, astringent, bitter, medium body,
3.6 Bottle. Dark black with thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, and light roasted barley. Light body, light coffee, dark chocolate, and malt. One of the better coffee stouts I’ve had.
4.0 Bottle: Pours very dark brown with a large, light brown head. Coffee, cream, chocolate aroma. Taste is nicely roasted coffee, cream, milk, chocolate malt. A lot of flavour packed into this relatively light beer.... An excellent, everyday drinking stout.
3.4 12 oz bottle pours dark brownish black with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee. Taste is coffee, dough, dark chocolate and toast. There’s a creamy quality to this stout. Thin body and not much after taste. Mild and smooth. Pretty good.
3.3 Pitch black with beige head, which dissipates quite quickly. Aroma of coffee and citrus. Flavor is light and not very complex: a light or medium roast coffee note, with a slight maltiness. Finishes with a bit of sweetness, which does not linger long. It really is a decent beer. I would never turn one down, but found myself wishing for a bit more complexity.
3.7 Bottle at home. Pour is deep brown, almost black with a frothy tan head and great lacing. Big roasty cocoa, marshmallows, graham crackers, earthy hops, husky, and espresso in the aroma. Taste is roasted chocolate, coffee grounds, grassy, toasted bread, cola, husky, and black licorice. Medium body with high carbonation. Nice stout especially for something available in six packs and seriously hard to believe its below 5%.
3.7 Pours black with a medium mocha head...decent lacing and retention. Aroma has nice mild roastiness and just a touch of coffee. Flavor follows suit and adds notes of bitter chocolate and very mild smoke. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a dry roasty finish that has mild coffee.
3.3 Bottle courtesy of Atom. Earthy coffee, sweet lactic chocolate aroma, Black brown with a moderate tan head. Sweet chocolate, earthy coffee, and light acidic flavor. Light bodied, soft carbonation. Very porter like.
3.8 Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Spotty lacing. Nose is roasted barley and a little coffee. Some nice coffee bitterness in the flavor. Mouthfeel is a little thin.
4.1 Pitch black with a khaki-colored head; Good lacing. Aroma of roasted barley, coffee and chocolate. Very roasty flavor but with notes of chocolate, floral & bitter hops and Roasty aftertaste; Coffee shines through as it warms up. Heavy body but fairly mild carbonation. Pretty tasty.
3.4 Pours an almost black with a nice tan head. Bought from IGA in Washburn might be a little old because the coffee takes the back seat to the dark fruit flavors.
3.7 12oz bottle purchased from Woodmans in Kenosha, WI. I’m not sure if I was late in the season in getting this, but the coffee seems to be fairly muted here. Still, New Glarus have here a coffee stout that fits right in with their malt and flavor forward style. This stout will not knock you out for the day/evening and would be great with a Sunday roast dinner.
3.9 Rich and full bodied is this stout. Pours a nice jet black color. Coffee on the nose, follows onto the palate with cocoa, and roasted malt character.
3.6 12oz bottle pours very dark with a medium head and and nice lacing. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and roasty bread. Bitter sweet liquid goodness.
3.7 Bottle. Pours opaque black with a small creamy tan head, decent lacing. Aroma is coffee, roasty, cocoa. Flavor follows, light sweet, light bitter, roasty, light coffee. Medium body, not bad.
3.4 Opaque black, dark-brown, small tan head. Bitter dark-roasted coffee beans, slight dark-chocolate notes. Earthy. Some caramel, molasses notes. Relatively subtle nose. Tastes predominantly bitter, some sourness from the roasted malt flavors, hints of sweetness throughout. Thicker mouthfeel, some oiliness, alcohol is very upfront. Big beer, reasonably balanced, pleasant.
3.4 Black as night pour with a cascading beige to brown head .... aroma is of roasted malts, caramel malts and coffee ..... taste is of light bitter coffee, roasted malts, caramel malts and a light bitter hop .... very thin in the body porterish really ... finishes dry with a lingering roasted malt ... expected more from this
