The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale.
Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth-watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats.
Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

3.7From a bottle. Pours clear raspberry with a fizzy light pink head. Tastes like sweet raspberry. Smells like sweet raspberry. Light body and low carbonation.
4.1Burgundy with a white head. Aroma is raspberry, light malt vinegar, and lactic acid. Taste is medium sweet and light sour. Palate is medium body with soft carbonation.
4.1A 1 pint 9 fl. oz. bottle with no bottled on or best before date (but I think 2017 designed labels). Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass. It was a cloudy deep dark grape red colour with a nice big three finger beige head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some sticky lacing. Aromas were tart, jammy, raspberry, mixed berry jello. Tastes sweet, tart, raspberry jam, raspberry jello with a touch of oak. Light to medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall great aromas, but tastes probably too sweet for me. The raspberry jammy and jello flavours were nice, but because of the over sweetness, this turned into just a sipper for me.
4.512floz bottle, no date, $11/four-pack, tulip glass. Appears burgundy with a small tan head. Smells and tastes like candy - raspberry and rainier cherries. A sweet lambic, it's sparling fruit juice with alcohol. Definitely not an everyday beer, but it's wonderful on occasion.
4.6Bottle from Niko, many thanks! Deep red with pinkish head. Smells like walking into a raspberry field. Super fresh tart raspberries. Raspberry candy. Raspberry raspberry raspberry. Wow.
3.7Bottle shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a hazy medium brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is yeast, big raspberry citrus. The flavour is moderate to strong sweet with a crisp sweet, fake sugary, strong raspberry palate and a lingering almost sickly sweet finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Super rich and sweet, but a little over the top all round. The fruit and sugar are right in your face.
4.112 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 2/23/2018. Pours crystal clear deep ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, red grape, peach, pear, red apple, melon, oak, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light pepper/vanilla, and herbal/yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity raspberries, fruity/spicy yeast, oak, and dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, red grape, peach, pear, red apple, melon, oak, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light pepper/vanilla, and herbal/yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate yeast/oak spiciness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, red grape, peach, pear, red apple, melon, oak, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light pepper, and herbal/yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/spicy yeast, oak, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance; and zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/acidic/tangy, fairly crisp, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an awesome fruit beer. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, fruity/spicy yeast, oak, and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the mellowly tart/spicy/drying finish. Great balance of fruit, yeast, oak, and malts. Lacking the enormous jammy fruit character of all of the other New Glarus fruit beers, but still really enjoyable.
4.1Bottled. Pours deep red. The palate is full body and sticky. Tartness to it. The taste is big raspberry. Like ur eating a handful of raspberries. Crazy good
4.4From Jan 2008
From my notes last night:
I got this bottle in a trade with Joe1510. Thanks Joe!
I poured it from 750ml waxed bottle and it's a beautiful ruby red with a good but fast receding head of pinkish foam.
The smell is an awesome nose of raspberry and a faint dose of wheat.
The taste is just as the name implies. Great big raspberry flavour just on the tart side with wheat floating in the background and a bit of yeast and perhaps wood. It's medium mouthfeel makes it a very succlent brew to drink and the carbonation is pretty spritzy which adds to the enjoyment. Man, I love this stuff. It's been too long since my last sampling..
The finish is all raspberry for me and it lingers on with a long aftertaste. Boy, am I happy I was able to get this in a trade...thanks again, Joe!!!
3.9Murky dark reddish brown color, quick dissipating beige head. Jammy aroma of raspberry with unfortunate metallic undertones. Moderately sweet like juice with no traces of alcohol. Moderate carb, light body, a little fruit stickiness, and a pleasant finish.
4.3Pours a dark red, almost purple, with a medium, light pink head. As expected, the nose brings heavy raspberry. This makes up most of the aroma, though I do get some grape. Its tart as well. The taste is acidic and is just subtly tart, which is very surprising. However, there is a delicious raspberry explosion upon drinking that makes up for the lack of tartness. Although the raspberry clearly dominates, there is some supporting spice, yeast, and oak. Heavy and long lasting raspberry finish. Light to medium in body, a little sticky in texture, and softer in carbonation. This is the rare fruit beer that I could drink all night and never get sick of. Exceptional!
3.8Bottle. Pours very deep red, sort of like dark cranberry juice, raspberry-tinged red head. Aroma is lots of raspberry juice, cranberrry, lightly tart, very sweet. I don't know what to say other than that it's high-quality raspberry soda without being overly sweet. Flavor follows. Very sweet, but a lightly tart note that prevents it from being overly sweet. Last NG beer I had was Strawberry Rhubarb. This isn't on that level but this is quite good. Sweet but pleasantly tart.
4.1Very tart and tasty. Raspberry all way through. The fruit tastes very fresh, It’s good stuff
4.4Very good. It’s very tart and tastes like raspberries. I like it a lot. Very good.
4.1Bottle thanks to Mr. Priest. Red / amber, beige head. Straight berry nose - raspberry tart. Flavor is straight crushed raspberries, more off color fruits, fruit leather, apricot, mango sweet tarts. Very very sweet with very light mild acidity and effervescence. Lovely
3.8Bottle. Raspberry brown sugar woody aroma. Sweet raspberry brown sugar with tart ripe sweet raspberries and fruity sweet woody finish. Medium light soft slick body. Very good. Better than Wisconsin Red IMHO. ........................................................................... [Fuck A-B/Inbev]
4.2Pours clear mahogany with flat tan head. Aroma of raspberries, wild strawberries, light red grapes and bretta, hints of almond icing. Taste is rich berry sweet with a mild tarty finish, very balanced. Light and crisp body with average carbonation.
4.1Thanks Virby44 for the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing very dark wine red with half a finger of tanned cherry foam.
The nose shows a lot of juicy and ripe raspberry with hints of steel tank.
The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. A lot of juicy raspberry with a very subtle tartness and a moderate sweetness but completely balances with the beer. Finish is once again more raspberry. Very light malt profile revealed on the end. Drinks similar to juice and could use a bit more tartness but still refreshing and juicy.

Appearance: Crimson red body looking almost liked pureed raspberries with a thin head.
Smell: All rapsberries here, aroma of freshly picked berries, looking good.
Taste: A rush of raspberries hits you, tart & bitter but no apparent sweetness maybe masked by the tartness.
Mouthfeel: Fizziness in the mouthfeel, bold & heavy taste, a little too heavy maybe. Dominant flavor is raspberries (of course!) which have a over-ripened feel to them.
4.0750 ml bottle. (Festival Foods) La Crosse, WI.
Deep ruby red color with a tiny white head.
Intense raspberry aroma with sweetness, mild sourness and some maltiness.
The flavor is intense raspberry... with sweetness, blackberries, mild tartness and some maltiness.
4.7Tastes like fresh raspberries, It really could not get more authentic. Its Fantastic if you like fruit beer. its basically a wine tho lol.
4.3I had to have a few of these to make sure I got the rating right, or maybe these are just way too tasty. Poured from the bottle a bright ruby red. Aroma is unmistakably raspberry. Taste is like fresh, sweet, mashed up berries. Absolutely delicious.
4.2Bottle purchased at the brewery. Shared with the wife. Pours ruby with a light pink head. Aroma was raspberry, wine. Taste was tart, tangy, raspberry, raspberry juice.
3.6One of New Glarus’ best known fruit beers, at B.U.M.B. in Antwerp. Lacing, off-white, moussy, stable head, warm and practically clear copper reddish colour with orangey hue. Aroma strongly reminiscent of (home made) raspberry jam, ripe fresh redcurrant, vanilla, ’Roosvicee’ or even rosehip tea, some caramel, almond. Sugary raspberry jam dominates the flavor, with a thin and shy redcurrant- or rhubarb-like acidity buried underneath, medium carbo, soft bready and caramelly core but the sweet raspberry flavor persists till deep into the finish, sugary and even a bit cloying, but the acidity still lurks from below and keeps it tolerable. The result of this, as with the other sweet New Glarus fruit beers, is a ’genuine’, artisanal dessert-like sweetness, which I experience as being very different from many industrial sweet beers here in Western Europe (mainly Belgium). Some of these Belgian sweet fruit beers, including the Lindemans lambics which served as an example for New Glarus back in the nineties, attain a similar character of non-industrial yet still ’heavy’ sugariness leaving room for actual fruit (juice) flavors; New Glarus essentially translated this concept from lambic to the (then) new American sour ale style and can be seen as a kind of modern craft beer-era tribute to the old Lindemans or (at least previously) even Timmermans fruit beers. Whether you like very sweet fruit beers or not, there is no denying that New Glarus is one of the breweries worldwide that has raised this concept to its maximum in terms of honesty and quality.
3.4At Hopishop 2016. Aroma of raspberry jam and mild tart. Taste has sweet raspberry jam, candy and no tart. This is really sweet stuff, drinkable, but not very complex or interesting.
4.2750 ml. bottle sampled @ HopisHop B.U.M.B. 2016. Deep red amber. Nose is pure sweet raspberry jam, sweet & sugar heavy down to the point of almost seeming a bit artificial. Their Belgian Red reminded me of Lindemans Kriek & this one reminds me of Lindemans Framboise but this one isn’t as good, sparkling taste, extreme & very sweet raspberry jam, pure sugar, candy, almost artificial sweet, far too sweet for its own good, not sure if I could drink a lot of it. Fizzy raspberry jam & sugar body. Crazily sweet but good since I do like raspberry jam after all. I still think that it is funny that beer geeks look down on the sweet Lindemans beers but worship these candy New Glarus beers.
4.4Fresh bottle shared with friends. Pours beautiful dark red with a pinkish head. Aroma is huge berries, cherries, somewhat funky. Flavour is mild tartness and quite a bit of fruity sweetness. Lots of raspberries. Moderate body, a lot of flavour. Feels like a stronger beer with all that flavour. Very quaffable, fresh and fruity. Light carbonation. Really nice!
2.9Süß säuerlicher Antrunk, Marmelade, zunehmende Süße. Viskos, intensiv, Himbeeren. Schwierig, mir insgesamt zu süß - trotz Essigstich. 10/9/8/8/10/9
4.5Bottle from Clint (starcross) -- cheers! I’ve never had a beer like this. Forget the name, there’s nothing tart or sour about this beer. Instead, it somehow manages to taste like an alcoholic bowl of fresh raspberries. There’s a ton of strong, authentic fruit flavor in the bottle, and the beer itself is an incredible reddish-purple color. I served it for dessert at Thanksgiving, and everyone from my twenty-something cousins up to my 85 year old grandmother loved it.
4.0Intense raspberries, dry grain malts, creamy, straw. Slightly hazy, reddish amber, small, off-white head. Medium sweet and sour. Overripe raspberries, sweet, yet dry fruit, raspberry syrup, light tart, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Beautiful Fruit Beer, intense and yet complex throughout. Keg at Sugar Maple, Milwaukee.
