3.9Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, best before 1/9/2017. Pours slighjtly hazy orange/light copper color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of bread dough, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/caramel/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malt and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big bread dough, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/caramel/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Minimal herbal, grassy, spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of bread dough, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/caramel/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Minimal dryness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.25%. Overall this is a delicious Oktoberfest style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Nothing but rich and clean Pils/Munich malt flavors, with just enough hops to balance the sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
2.9Pours brownish orange with a fine long lasting off white head. Aroma is caramels. Flavour is slightly harsh in the German lager tradition, but malty. Finish is full and slightly bitter.
3.7Bright shiney copper hue under a thick ivory head. Nice toasty German bready malt nose. Brisk toffee toasty malt flavor that’s crisp and soft and toasted bready. Smooth semidry finish.
3.2Bottle. Admittedly not my favorite style, but this was crisp and refreshing- true to form. Good beer
3.7It pours copper orange with an off white head. The aroma has toffee and rich marzen lager smoothness. It has a medium body with mild carbonation. The taste has rich toasted malt, caramel, toffee and light noble hops. Thanks a bunch to terminus for picking this up for me.
2.7For whatever reason I am not a huge fan of this style. I think it's because they are never as malty as I expect them to be. This one is no different. Lovely medium/dark amber with a nutty nose and light beige head. But the flavor is light and watery. Little malt flavor and only light hops. Kind of grainy as well. It's okay but not great. On tap @ Cafe Hollander, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
3.8Aroma of spiced, herbal hops. Appearance of amber, red with puffy white head. Nutty, caramel sweetness with a lingering spiciness. Mellow and soft carbonation, with a rich and full body.
3.8On tap at Mars Cheese Castle bar. Pours clear copper. Aroma is lightly roasted medium bodied and quenching with a clean finish. Very good Oktoberfest but not exactly bursting with flavor so in my opinion, not among the very best.
2.7Pours a clear, dark golden with a thin white head that settles slowly. It looks a little watery actually. The aroma is weaker all around. I find toasted malt, nuts, and caramel, though nothing stands out. The taste is moderately sweet. Caramel and brown sugar are found on top, with spice as a good supporting element. Minor amounts of floral hops, nuts, and some toasted hints are found underneath. Short finish of caramel is very faint. Its light in body and has a thin texture. Even though this isn't my favorite style, I'm still disappointed.
3.7Pleasant aroma, malty, hints of spice, perhaps some grass. Nor too strong. Clear amber, lots of bubbles, a medium creamy-appearing off-white, slightly tan head, dropping fairly quickly to a bubbly cap with some thick lacing. Good body and mouth feel. Taste is all malts, bready and hints of spice, relatively simple, not sweet, with only a little bittering in the middle through to the finish. This keeps the taste balanced and makes the finish not all malty sticky. Moderately clean finish. I like the taste of this beer a lot, but it could use a just bit more balance from the hops.
3.512 oz bottle. Pours a clear brilliant amber with a thin whispy off-white head. Clean, slightly fruity sweet malt aroma. A very flavorful oktoberfest with a unique somewhat floral, spicy sweet character and a crisp very mildly bitter finish. Lively carbonation.
3.7Ar: Sweet grass and deep toasted notes; a touch of caramel and red apple. Ap: Orange-amber and clear; medium off-white head with moderate retention, leaves a ring of multi-sized bubbles and a very thin haze of foam with some large-bubbled suds. T: Very deep toasted malt with moderate sweetness up front; grass and hay, with candied apples; overall clean fermentation profile; low bitterness, no hop flavor; finish is deep toasted malts and rich grain, which resonates. P: Medium-full body with medium-high carbonation; medium-dry finish. O: Very nice oktoberfest beer; full of rich malt notes that really shine through with little else to get in the way; a nice amount of sweetness up front, but finishes fairly dry.
3.5Thanks Dannys Mom! Nice easy drinking marzen. Malty caramel but still decently light. Prost!
2.8Probably my least favorite new glarus that I’ve tried. Not a huge fan of octoberfest to begin with.
4.1Best Octoberfest I’ve had so far, tho sam adams is close. This one is a bit more creamy and better balanced. Not too sweet, not too bitter, just right. Malty and smooth
2.7Bottle.
A- Celery, malty, bread.
A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head.
T- Caramel, nutty, dried stone fruits, spice, bread.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish.
O- For a style that has never impressed me, I actually enjoyed this one. The subtle apricot/stone fruit that was underlying the caramel was really nice. A touch of spice on top of all that made for a drinkable beer. A bit of an odd ingredient in the aroma but didn’t kill the beer.
4.4Another German brew from New Glarus, another beautifully-executed beer. It pours a clear dark amber. Rich malty nose with a hint of fruitiness. Tastes like toasted bread, caramel, apricot, nuts, and spices. More full-bodied than some, yet exceptionally smooth. Hops are definitely muted here. This brew is about the 1,100 pounds of toasted malted barley that went into making it. There aren’t many American-made fest biers that can top this.
4.0B-. Pours a clear amber color with white head. Good flavor but a little too light
3.1Bottle. Pours copper with orange hue; thick off-wheat head and substantial lacing. Nose of bread crust with some spice. Bread crust malt with honey notes and subtle citrus. Thinner mouthfeel.
3.6Pours a dark gold, almost amber, some white head. Aroma is a little bready, no hops. Taste of wheat bread, some slight brown sugar sweetness. Some hops add balance but it's not overly bitter, not too sweet. Creamy mouthfeel, malty body.
3.312 oz. bottle pours a clear orange/amber color with small but lasting off-white head. Not much to smell, but what aroma that is is malty, with sweet grains and some caramel. Taste is on the sweet side with a bitter finish and malty aftertaste. Body is light to medium with lively carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel.
3.65oz draft sample from brewery tasting. Light copper, filtered clear. Malt-forward with notes of biscuity/bread giving way to classic earthy/spicy hops characteristic of the style. Finish was dry and refreshing with lingering hop bitterness.
3.6Intense grain and bread malts, caramel, straw. Clear, dark gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light bitter. Sweet-ish grain and bread malts, caramel, bitterness returns, light alcohol, lively carbonation, dry and bitter finish. Decent Märzen, nicely malty, but not too sweet. Keg at the brewery, New Glarus.
4.0From Bushel and Peck. Really just excellent. Malty, smooth, flavorful, bready, caramel. Serving: Bottle

Aroma: Initially a touch of fast free milk, this settles to a low malt character that reminds me of lightly toasted bread. Hops are low, not distinguishable.
Appearance: Rich orange color with an off white head resting about 2 centimeters thick. The texture is mostly tiny and small bubbles with a few medium scattered throughout. The retention is good with as very thin layer resting in the surface of the beer.
Flavor: Rich malt body with flavors of toffee and lightly toasted grains. The background flavor is less sweet but still full flavored. The hops clean the pallets providing a crisp citrus flavor and low bitterness. Balance is malty with the finish being sweet and the aftertaste of roasted sweet bread.
Mouthfeel: Medium mouth feel, high carbonation and no alcohol warmth. Low stringency from the bittering hops.
Overall: A rich beer with a medium body and crisp finish balancing the overall impression. Not overly sweet and very easy drinking. The only detractor preventing consumption on the rest scale is the level of carbonation.

From the bottle the pour is clear with a golden orange color with an off white head, the aroma is almost not there, the taste is crisp but is missing the depth of flavor, the finish is light malts
3.7Poured 12oz brown bottle into a willybecher glass, a crystal-clear, medium orange amber colour with beige foam, thin but lasting head. 100% true-to-style German Oktoberfest lager, and a particularly good one. Grainy, very nutty and biscuity, faint rich malty sweetness, pleasant earthy and peppery noble hop balance. Medium body and carbonation, pleasant mouthfeel, lingering malty aftertaste. Smooth lager traits, no alcoholic heat at all. Tasty and very well-crafted.
3.2Bottle @ Derek’s. Thanks for sharing! Deep amber pour with a small head. Fairly neutral nose. Some bread and honey. Little else. Flavor is similar. Mildly toasty. Sweet malt. Apple. Slight grassy bite. Medium body, active carb.
2.9Bottle shared with koleminer20, out of Dumpster Day box #1. Aroma is sweet malt, sugar, some fruit, maybe yams. Appearance is orange, off white head. Taste is off-puttingly plain. Just basic malt. Nothing really else. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, no real aftertaste. Overall, what the hell is the appeal of this style?
2.912 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. This was an extra from a trade a while back and placed into Dumpster Box No. 1. The pour is a clear orange ruby color with a light tan head that falls to a collar, leaving a light soapy residue on the glass. The aroma is really sweet. There is the general spice and malt to it, and it smells like an Oktoberfest should. I'm not a big fan of them, but they have a familiar smell. Malty, metallic, and spicy. The flavor is much of the same. A plain sweet malt and not a whole lot else. The spiciness faded right out, leaving a sweet malt behind. Not bad. The mouth feel is just weird. Somewhat thick with a light carbonation and a quick fading finish. The sweetness is all that's there, but it doesn't last. Strange, but not awful.
3.3December 4, 2015 - bottle from WI. Clear orange pour with some head that faded quickly. Aroma was sweet malty and spice. Taste was consistent with aroma and dry grainy finish.
