A few times a year we cut Dan loose to brew whatever he choose. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A provocative 85 IBUs reverberates cleanly through this Double IPA. True hop saturation from kettle boil to dry hop cellaring dominates this elegant and lustful sensory enchantment. You hold a deceptively seductive Original Gravity of 19.2 Plato, now 9% ABV following the always 100% natural bottle fermentation. Luscious English Maris Otter malt is the essential heart of this voluptuous double IPA. Surrender is inevitable so enjoy now.

3.9Bottle at Paul’s. Pours cloudy gold with white head. Nose and taste of grapefruit rind, pine, resin, citrus peel and orange zest. Medium body.
3.8Pours a mostly clear golden color and topped by a nice thick off-white colored head of foam. The aroma is bursting with citrus fruits and hops atop a backbone of toasted bread malts. The flavor follows suit with the citrus fruit including orange and grapefruit, and balanced out nicely by the toasted malts. The body is nice and full with ample carbonation and hop bitterness that leads to a slight warming finish. As the beer warms up it starts to get a touch boozy, but overall a solid ipa from one of my favorite breweries.
4.5There is so much to like about New Glarus IIPA. It is a lush hop bomb with amazing balance. Pine is most prominent but complexity abounds. Hops are the focus with alcohol and malt adding depth.
4.2Rated in April 2012 (Backlog) - Gold in color with a small white head. Aroma is of grapefruit, wildflowers and fresh cut grass. Taste is heavy in grapefruit with some grass and pine.
4.3Heavy aroma of pine, citrus, and fresh hops. Nice orange gold, with thick white head that stands strong. Nice hoppy pine, with some bitterness in front, balanced well with sweet caramel malt. Finishes with the sweetness of the malt momentarily, then the bitterness from the hops comes in but it is not over powering. Has a nice alcohol hum to it at the end also that warms you up. Not over the top like some double ipa’s.
3.9Pour is clear golden amber with a bubbly off white head. Nose is hop forward, grapefruit and citrus, a touch sticky, assertive malt backbone with fresh grain. Taste is so hop forward, a touch if sticky resignous hops, strong grapefruit, virtually no bitterness. Carb is a spot light, medium body and fairly dry finish.
3.312oz, I guess I’m a NG Homer (Thanks MBB for this beer btw) but this beer would fall short of my expectations, it makes nothing special for an IIPA just your run of the mill.. the english malt is a nice touch but still falls short of what is out there.
4.0Bottle. Pours golden with medium head. Big flowery hop nose, some resiny pine notes. Flavor is rich malt laced with powerful sticky fresh hop flavors - bursts of crushed pine needles, sharp citrus and juicy peach all surrounded by a lively bitterness and just a little alcohol astringency. Absolutely great wisconsin IPA - with local Wisconsin hops!! - I bet this could go head to head with pliny and win.
3.8Lightly hazy golden-orange body, medium sized white head, spotty lacing. Orange, grapefruit, perfumey citrus and floral notes, light malt creeing in. Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation, a little too sweet in the finish which lingers a bit.
3.7Impressive bitterness balanced with sweet fruitiness, especially grapefruit. Decent double IPA, better than expected.
3.5Bottle. Not one of NGs better beers. Opaque darker gold pour. Decent head an lacing. Nose and taste are citrus, hops, some malt but not enough. There are just too many other better choices out there but this will do in a pinch.
3.9Pours a lighter copper with a white h2ad. Aroma is pine and earthy sweetness. Taste is slightly bitter. Very sweet and candyish body. Nice double IPA.
4.3What a great beer, everything you would look for in a well balanced double IPA. a great west coast style IPA from the heart of America. this should be a year round beer. I would by it (if it was available in PA) by the keg. reminds me of a fuller bodied sculpin.
4.0Bottle enjoyed last night from Mr. Ed. WILBUUURRR! Pours gold with a big foam off white head that leaves a layer of lacing. Nose of pine and grapefruit. Taste is plenty bitter, adds a layer of mango and mellon midway. Body is full. How much weed does on have to do to make a sitcom around the concept of a talking horse?
3.6Bottle. Dark golden pour with white head. Herbal, spice and earthy hop aromas. Flavor is spices, citrus and with a bit of sweetness.
3.3Bottle ftom Mars Cheese Castle. Pours much clearer and lighter thsn expected, a light orange with minimal foam. Aroms is musty, earthy, with orange peel and alcohol. This is thick and syrupy. Very prickly carbonation, taste is still musty, hops are very bitter, although the bitterness isn’t defined... not citrus or floral, i guess maybe more on the piney side of things. This is a good beer, but overall pretty straightforward. Expecting more for $14.00 a 4-pack.
4.5this is a smooth light headed I double IPA phenomenal pace goes on smooth Heise nine percent alcohol value can’t ask for a better bruh New Glarus outdid themselves thumbs up for tylenol must try you’re the best I’m the best p
3.8Bottle courtesy of Madbeerbaron. Grapefruit, mango, apricot, sugary caramel malt aroma. Hazy honey gold with a small white head. Sweet caramel malt, musty citrus, tropical fruit flavor with an herbal grassy bitter finish. Body on the lighter side of full, moderate carbonation.
4.212oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with an inch of fluffy white head. Big tropical and citrus fruit aromas. Taste and aroma are very hop forward. Pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemon rind, some bitter pine at the end, and balanced by some sweet bready malts.
4.1courtesy of madbeerbaron. poured into my sam smith glass. large billowing white head. inviting tropical fruit and citrus hop aromoa. silghtly hazy. firm hop bitterness followed with assertive hop flavor and finish. leaves you craving more. this beer has it all. Not sure the age, but it is quite wonderful right now. would recommend.
4.7Aroma is pine, citrus and grassy hops. The flavor is grapefruit, fruit//berries, mild sweetness, hop resin, malts and a grassy/bitter finish. Well crafted IIPAs this good are not a dime a dozen.
3.9Bottle to snifter. Light kumquat flesh color with a thin but clingy white head. Decent lace. Aroma is a delightfully dank tropical fragrance. Citra "fuel" up front but lots of tropical fruit smells. Taste is pretty nice. Same tropical fruit flavor but distributed in a layered and complex way throughout the taste. A sip of this followed by a sip of water makes me think of Juicy Fruit gum,. Light bodied with a dry finish. Again, pretty freaking nice.
4.2Pours a dark, clear golden color; with medium head. Powerful grapefruit, tangerine aroma. Hop bitterness with strong citrus, grapefruit, tangerine flavors. Very tasty.
3.8Pours vibrant orange with a frothy white head. Aroma is dominated with pleasant citrus hops with spicy pine. Really good citrus notes. Bitter from the start to the finish with a dry finish. Medium body and light carbonation. A great beer overall, very delicious IPA.
4.312 oz. bottle served in a FFF teku. Bottle shared by pmoney and also opened another bottle bottle two weeks later. Both equally as delicious.
A: Pours a clear amber color with a one finger height of white foam forming on the pour. Some soapy and splotchy lace is left down the glass.
S: Grapefruit and orange bursts of citrus with a nice piney undertone. A little bubblegum sweetness with sweet bread malt body.
T: Mango and orange. Lemon citrus with pineapple. A lot of tropical fruits going on. Marmalade sweetness with some light bitterness. White bread malt sweetness on the finish.
M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Sweet and fruity with a clean finish.
O: Delicious. So well balanced with a great mouthfeel. Fruity and sweet with a piney undertone. This is a top tier DIPA.

3.8Orange in color with a white head. Citrus, pine, hoppy aroma, Flavor is citrus, pine, resiny, hoppy, malty.
3.8Clear orange. Medium creamy white head, partially lasting. Alot going on in the aroma, balanced hoppy, some sweetness, citrus/grapefruit, touch of tropical, lemon, pine. Flavor is much the same. Not a ’hop bomb’. Full flavored medium body. Balanced bitterness, super smooth finish. Very easy drinking IIPA, but maybe a bit too astringent?. A safe, but well-done beer. Quite different from the others Ive had lately.
4.4Aroma is a nice pungent resiny citrusy scent. Taste is grapefruit and citrus upfront, a little piney resiny taste in the back round. Actually very well balanced for a big hop bomb. Very solid double!! Glad I have 7 bottles left!!
3.912 oz bottle pours an almost clear golden orange color with small off-white head and some lacing, Smells of citrus and pine. Aroma is full of grapefruit, papaya, and pine with plenty of caramel malts for balance. Body is medium with perfect carbonation. This is deceptively easy to drink, with alcohol well hidden. Taste is initially sweet with a big hoppy dry finish. Mousthfeel is slightly sticky. Another winner from my favorite Wisconsin brewery.
4.1Poured from a bottle, thanks Ben! Pours cloudy amber with nice head. Aroma is pine, citrus, heavy hops! Taste is incredibly smooth with a bitter kick at the end, loving this one
