3.2 Pours a cloudy golden with a modest white head. Smells of spiced pumpkin pie. Yum. Taste is similar, but doesn’t hold up to the nose. It’s good, very little bitterness... but somewhat uninspiring. I’d drink it again, but wouldn’t go out of my way to find it either. So far this is there first New Holland brew I didn’t really, really love.
2.4 Bottle. A- Pumpkin, gourd, nutmeg. A- Orange color, clear liquid, beige head. T- Gourd, nutmeg, lavender, perfume. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly unbalanced finish. O- A bit of gourd and pumpkin in there with a nutmeg like spice. A bit unbalanced and really not that exciting.
3.1 Aroma is some spice. Taste is full with good spices. Overall a solid pumpkin ale.
4.1 A great pumpkin beer. Every now and then you’ll come across a pumpkin beer every September/October/November that is actually memorable, and this is one of them. The pumpkin notes are solid and the taste is right where it should be: pumpkin, but still beer, rather than some weak iteration of a pumpkin ale that only tastes like one or the other.
2.7 Not tasting a lot of a pumpkin, but am tasting more ipa/pale ale. Aroma is lacking and almost none for a pumpkin. Nice coloring of deep hazy orange. Flavor is hops, and an ending of slight pumpkin and then watery. Refreshing palate at first, then watery. Tap
3.8 On tap. A great pumpkin beer. Not too spices but with enough that t cuts the pumpkin.
3.2 Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a glass. Clear light Amber with no head. Aroma is nutmeg, medium body, low carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is nutmeg, pumpkin, and some cinnamon.
3.4 Malty spicy pumpkin beer with nutmeg dominant in the aroma and flavor. Cinnamon is in there too and almost delivers a dry mouth feel. Not fake flavors but more spice the pumpkin. Not a bad pumpkin beer, I would say average, maybe a notch below. Almost a watery palate.
3.2 Standard pumpkin beer, nice dark orange color, not overly spiced, but not especially crisp clean tasting. Fine, but forgettable,
3.3 Pours an orange/amber color and some nice lacing. It is pretty clear and smells mildly of pumpkin. Has a nice pumpkin taste and is not overwhelmingly clove or cinnamon like most fall beers.
2.7 October 31 , 2015 - bottle from Total Wine. Orange pour with limited head. Aroma was grain and cinnamon. Taste was consistent with aroma, but mostly grainy. Some pumpkin beers are too heavy on the spice, but this was way too little.
3.3 12 oz bottle. Pours amber with white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of grassy hops, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel. Body is medium and smooth. Pumpkin, spices, grassy hops fill the mouth. Finish is long and spices. Pumpkin is very noticeable for me.
2.9 Pours a dark hazy copper color with a white head. Aromas of pumpkin and spice. A little malty sweetness. Not bad but nothing special.
3.1 Smell is good sweet malt.. ..taste is not quite as good...more bitter than expected...fairly smooth
3.0 Bottle. Poured a dark orange Amber color with a frothy whitish head. Aroma of nutmeg, caramel, cinnamon and earth. Solid version. Flavor fades a bit after a few drinks. Becomes a bit bland.
3.0 Bottle. Dirty golden brown pour with a thin off white head. Aroma of cinnamon, stale bread, nutmeg, and earthy pumpkins. Medium body with any complexity masked by over-spices.
1.0 Smelled like a unpleasant sented soap. The taste was is the same ballpark. Unable to drink. If another one in the six pack is better I’ll rerate.
3.1 As pumpkin beers go, this isn’t so bad. The pumpkin spices are muted and on the whole, it was tasty.
3.2 12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, poorly retained, ivory head, with moderate lacing, over a very slightly hazy dark amber (SRM 13) body.....nose is cinnamon, nutmeg, slight pumpkin, light cereal, no hops, balance to the spices.....taste is cinnamon, nutmeg, hints of pumpkin, light cereal malts, dry throughout, mild hop/spice bitterness on the finish, spices dominate.....mouth feel, light of medium body, no alcohol, high carbonation. This is a fairly typical, spice dominated, pumpkin Ale. A bit more caramel/crystal malt would give a bit of sweetness and help balance the spices. BJCP7/3/13/4/6
3.1 Nutmeg, straw wheat, pumpkin is faint. Taste is straw wheat, light pepper spice, nutmeg, pumpkin. After tastes of cloves.
3.8 Great spice flavor goes really well with the spicy aroma. Nutmeg and all spice dominant the nose and tastebuds. Smooth drinking beer. Very good. Will get again.
3.2 Hazy deep copper with a thin white top. The nose smells of pumpkin spice and a little ginger. Nothing out of the ordinary or exciting here. Crisp carbonation and a bright body help to lighten an otherwise predictable and muddled style, though there are thr familiar beats of roasted pumpkin, some light pumpkin spices, a wee kiss of clove and a whisper of pumpkinny cinnamon. Not exactly re-inventing the wheel but it’s not muddled or overdone. This is a fine example of what keeps the curious keep coming back to pumpkin beers.
3.2 Has the smell of pumpkin and spices. Light amber color with a small whitish head. Pumpkin spice flavor that fads with really no after taste. Over good tasting beer.
2.3 Light pumpkin smell. light overall color. Really just a bland ale. No pumpkin flavor or any type of spice. Not sure if I got a bad bottle.
3.6 As far as pumpkin beers go this is a good one. There is an argument to be made on the inferiority of pumpkin beers to normal beers... But for what it is its solid, and I enjoy it. Even though it’s still 90 degrees out, I can still sit in the air conditioning with my eyes closed and pretend it’s fall. Thank you Ichabod!
3.9 Aroma: caramel, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg Appearance: clear amber, off-white head Taste: light sweetness, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg Palate: medium body, sticky, average carbonation, long finish, Delicious
2.7 A bit heavy on the fall spice flavor. Not finding the pumpkin hiding under there. Otherwise pretty average.
3.3 Bottle. Pours orange with white head. Aroma is lots of baking spices, lots of cinnamon, nutmeg. Taste is med-bodied, slightly thin, good spice flavor coming through. Overall, decent.
1.5 12 oz. bottle. Pour is dark amber. Minimal white head, that quickly diminishes. Aroma is metallic. Tasteis bland, no pumpkin aroma or taste.
