3.7 This is a really pleasant beer. In terms of a summer seasonal it’s a different type of beer then an Oberon, which is nice. It’s a little more hoppy and bitter than the citrusy nature of Oberon. I really like this beer, and it keeps getting better.
4.2 12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 2/17/2016. Pours lightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon peel, lime, peach, pear, apple, pepper, coriander, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops, fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon peel, lime, peach, pear, apple, pepper, coriander, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon peel, lime, peach, pear, apple, pepper, coriander, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops, fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness/yeast spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, and lightly creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is an awesome Belgian IPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops, fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
2.8 How: Bottle. Where: Systembolaget. Appearance: Copper colour with an off-white head. Aroma: Malt, caramel, bread, spices, citrus. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Malt, bread, spices, citrus.
2.9 12 oz. bottle. Pours very dark amber with thick white head. Aroma is citrus, hops and spices. Taste was sweet peppery, with light bitter finish.
2.4 Bottled. Has a darker brown. To be fair I had floaters in. My beer so it wasn’t the freshest. Has a small Belgium taste. Not ver bold. Kind of disappointing.
2.4 This white IPA is ok. Some tropical notes with typical Belgium yeast notes. Ok but not the best
3.1 Rated on 6-24-2015 (Bottle) This beer’s appearance is a small smooth white head with a long retention, slightly hazy golden body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation observed, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, fruity, spicy, coriander, and yeasty. The flavor is lightly bitter, citrus hops, sweet, fruity, coriander, and yeast. The mouthfeel of this beer is light carbonation and this beer is light-medium bodied. A drinkable beer, but the flavor was a bit mumbled jumbled.
3.0 Bottle. A- Caramel, bread, biscuits, subtle pine, subtle citrus, tea. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, off white head. T- Bread, caramel, slightly bitter, subtle citrus. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- Not what I expected to get. One could assume white ipa or witbier and I guess it’s a bit along those lines, but loads of bready caramel and malts kind of take away from the general expectation of what this would taste like.
3.3 Deep golden color, white head. Fruity esters nose, lemon, light spice, malty notes. Fruity taste, citrus, caramel, toffee, yeast. Medium body, soft to average carbonation.
3.1 Lavender, lemon, and rose water aromas. Taste is grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, lavender and coriander, with some cracker like malt. After taste does have some pepper notes.
3.9 White Hatter’s White IPA definitely leans more toward IPA than White. Not a criticism. The pour is hazy orange topped with snow white foam. Dank hops in the aroma. On the nose, there’s also some Belgian yeast. Flavor has juicy lemon, bittersweet grapefruit, coriander (and other spice notes that aren’t as easy to identify), and subtle lime. Mouthfeel strikes a nice balance between lively and creamy smooth. While I could do with crisper hops and a fuller body, White Hatter is lovely treat that’s fairly low on bitterness and booze. A good one for the afternoon.
3.3 Cloudy orange with a lot of yeast floaters. Tons of lacing and persistent white head. Nose is slightly soapy, not much else. Lots of coriander, some spicy yeast elements, bitter finish. Alright but I never get the point of these beers.
2.8 Luktar gott. Kryddigt och humligt. Lite fast skum. Obalanserad smak. Tunn. Kryddig.Njä, mer spännande än bra.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity wheat malty spicy coriander aroma. Fruity wheat malty spicy coriander flavor. Has a frutiy wheat malty spicy coriander finish.
2.1 Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golden beer with an offwhite head. Hoppy and a bit spicy aroma. Hoppy a bit grassy and spicy flavour. Feels a bit strange...
2.8 Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear copper beer with a small offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma, honey, bread, some grapes. Malty bready flavor, grainy, hay, caramel, some hay. Rather thin and boring.
3.3 Bottle. Poured a Amber type color; quite ruddy with a khaki head. Aroma of herbs, spice, wheaty and musty. Citrus and herbal hopping, with an under current of Belgian spice. Fairly mild and balanced
4.4 Pours hazy orange-gold with small white head. Smell is fruity. Taste is peachy with piney finish. Light to medium body. Very good beer
4.0 New Holland puts its best foot forward with this one. This is not a big beer, nor a hop bomb, not barrel aged or anything. It’s a citrusy IPA with a robust malt bill containing a hint of Belgian spiciness. Not overly bitter, well balanced. This is a near perfect merger of two styles. The creamy mouthfeel is about the best I’ve had, I’d say. Excellent beer.
2.8 Aroma is kinda "old" in every aspect, older grass clippings, older fruits, old spices. Hmmm, this is not a good vibe. Taste is a little bit off in a way. It’s not bad, but it’s an overall dull sensation. Herbs like camomile, coriander and similar old woman spices shine through. Lightly fruity and somewhat OK, but nothing more. It tastes like the inside of the hat on that dude on the label.
3.1 Bottle from SB. Cloudy orange with a small white head. Fruity and spicy tones. Fruit, malt, hops and spices. Medium body with a long bitter / spicy finish.
2.9 355 ml bottle from systembolaget. Hazy yellow with white head. Spicy fruity with grass and fruit. Dry with medium bitterness and high carbonation.
3.0 @ Basunen 15-7-25: ganska kryddig doft. Typisk belgisk. Smaken är frisk men aning tvålig. Små toner av kanel och koriander.
2.3 Bottle from Systembolaget. Smell of boiled vegetables and butter, I also got some light citrus and spices. The boiled veggies and butter faded after a while. But the smell wasn’t fresh. Similar taste. A bit unfresh and unclean.
3.0 355 ml bottle, from Systembolaget. Hazy golden, fluffy white head. Hoppy aroma, orange, tangerine, spice, tea. Mild carbonated, medium body and a sweet, fruity mouthfeel. The taste start sweet and ends herbal strong. Taste is sweet from tropical fruits, orange, peach, honey, some green herb, spice with citrus zest bitterness in the finish.
