Nimbus Palo Verde Pale Ale

Nimbus Palo Verde Pale Ale

An American style pale ale, this brew is hopped four times using plentiful quantities of Cascade and Columbus hops. The flavor is balanced by a subtle maltiness obtained from five varieties of malted barley and a slight fruitiness, to produce a classic beer in the style of the Pacific Northwest. A clean crisp ale with distinctive hop aroma.

2.9 A blonde ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, OK. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with grassy and lightly floral hops, OK. On tap at brewery.
3.2 Draft at brewery 11/13/13-Pours amberish with a decent head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of the same. This light to medium bodied brew was not bad bud was lacking something that I couldn’t put my finger on.
3.1 Copper pour, decent head. Hops in the nose. Little sweet. Middle is toast and burnt sugar. Finish is grapefruit. Decent.
3.4 Bottle - via Ale in the Mail. Medium copper color - slightly cloudy. Aroma mostly malty, sweet. Pretty hoppy - some fruity flavor in aftertaste. Pretty good.
2.9 10/17/2013. From bottle. Light amber color with a thin white head. Aromas of malt and caramel. Flavors pretty much the same. Light hoppy finish, but overall bland and boring.
3.4 It poured a clear copper color with a white head that had nice retention and decent lace. Seemed a little thin. Aroma had a nice sweet caramel malt presence upfront with a hint of toast in the back. Nice citrus hops and a slight bitterness to it. Light but smooth on the finish. Thin on the palate but all in all it was a decent session ale.
3.2 12 oz bottle pours a dar yellow color with a small white head. Aromas of hay, grass, light citrus. Light bodied, mild finish, basic pale ale.
3.2 At the brewpubs bistro on draft clear light golden with a slight white head aroma of hops thin bodied with a slight bitter flavor
3.2 On draft at the Nimbus Bistro in Tucson AZ. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Floral hop nose. Moderate carbonation. Flavors of light citrus. Short bitter finish.
2.8 Nimbus Pale Ale, ratebeer redirected me here. I’ve been living in Tucson for a couple of years now and I’ve never esen "Palo Verde Pale Ale". Just Nimbus Pale Ale. 12 fl oz / 355mL bottle into a pint glass. Served cold. Aroma: Mild citrusy hop aroma. A little malt going on. Pretty mild aroma. Appearance: Hazy, translucent yellow body, with a rocky, foamy, white head. Taste: Mild flavor. Nice balance between lightly citrus-y hops and malt. Pretty mild, but pretty good. Drinks easily. Strange metallic/wet dog after-taste. Palate: Light bodied, short finish. Overall: A decent beer, but not my favorite. Flavors are mild, but good. Nothing complicated, but not a lot of depth.
3.4 120z bottle thanks to Keith. Rating #158. Clear dark gold pour with a huge fluffy white head that lasted a good while. Big hop aroma with a little soapiness. Mild flavor with a pick up in bitterness as it coated my mouth and finished. Not bad. (2711)
2.8 Strong hop aroma. The hops were quite predominate and not well blended. Malts were conspicuously absent in the flavor. Pale ales should be easier to drink than this one.
2.3 Well shit. I can’t find an Arizona beer on the shelves in California, but here it is in Atlanta? What the fuck. Anyway, here is state #47. Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a large creamy white head and some weird looking small black particles sinking to the bottom. Great lacing tho. Aroma is somewhat unpleasant, actually, bathroom aromas with some caramel and bready malts. Not much going on in the hops department. This must be an old sample, but it is notched November 2012, which isn’t too bad. Flavor is better than aroma, pine and caramel with lingering bathroom. Nothing to write home about. Very light sweet and light plus bitterness lingering to the far finish. Not a very good start to my Arizona beer adventure.
3.4 1/2/13. 12oz bottle from Five Points in Valdosta, GA. Lightly hazed golden orange pour with a small off-white head that fades and laces a little. Clean malty aroma with a small touch of citrus. Slightly bitter flavor with more maltiness and a hint of lingering hop dryness. Not bad.
3.5 30 dec 2012, bottle. Yellow, slightly cloudy, some some sediment. Nose is flower petals and lemon rind. Thin body and mildly fizzy. Lemon rind and bitter grass. Okay.
3.4 Bottle from total wine. New addition to ga if I have it correct. Not a bad seasonable drink. Pours a dark yellow and relatively translucent. Nice white head. Aroma is grassy hops and some hay. Flavor is maize and the finish is grassy and mild as well.
5.0 Very nice and hoppy. The taste is excellent and you can enjoy more than one without filling full.
3.1 Nice apprearance, pale orange with medium head, hazy. Sweet pine and low malt. Bland up front, unsatisfying mild hop finish. Body is light.
3.7 12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours out a hazy, pale copper-hued body with a small-sized, everso off-white head. A few stray pencil points of lace on the descent. Smell: Slender pale malts with a mild aroma akin to damp, crustless bread. Faint, vague sweetness in the background. The citrus notes aren’t particular powerful, but agreeable. Taste: Soft pale maltiness with a thin sliver of crisped grains. Drizzle of house-made golden syrup for a noted sweetness. Hop flavors of lemon and white grapefruit, lightly pithy, though not overly bitter. Drying, citrusy, but, again, not particularly bitter. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Overall: While I enjoyed it, those looking for the hop character and bitterness to give you what for may be disappointed. I appreciate the relatively low ABV’s for the Nimbus beers thus far.
3.0 Bottle. Pours a clear pale gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a light fruity note with some citrus hops backed by grains and a hint of popcorn. Flavor has earthy grassy hops with a hint of citrus and light fruit backed by some earthy grain.
1.7 Pours a hazy light amber with a thin layer of off-white head. Aroma is mostly yeasty with some crisp spruce-like hop notes. Flavor is bitingly bitter with not a lot of of other flavors. The one flavor I do get is soapy citrus at the end that leaves an awkward taste on the palate. Disappointing.
3.6 Malty aroma has a strong yeasty overtone and bready and fruity notes. It pours a clear yellow with a thick, if not too persistent, white head. Tasty flavor has malty and fruity notes, the latter mostly apple, and hints of yeast and caramel. Smooth texture has decent body and fizz. Yet another craft brand I am glad has finally found its way to Atlanta!
3.2 bottle. clear gold with small head. light and dry. light hop nose. flavor is bitter and dry but not overly aromatic. light vanilla and cake notes.
3.4 Draft. Poured a clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate hop and small malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.
3.7 Bottle pours golden, with thin white head. Little hoppy on the nose with a Crisp Hoppy taste, delicious!
3.6 Nice, cloudy golden pour, a touch of citrus to go with just enough bitter. I like it.
3.6 Sampled at the brewpub. Copper hued with the creamy head that all of their beers seem to sport. Citrus and caramel in the nose hints at a classic US pale. A nice citrus bite to start. Bitterness is bigger than expected and itbis a dry beer. Caramel is nice. This is a well brewed example of a classic.
3.4 (Draught) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a medium white head and nice lacing. Aroma of mustiness, grass, citrus, pine, and weed. Flavor of caramel, orange, pine, and grass with a dry, bitter finish.
3.2 Pours a bright orange color with a nice white head and good lacing. Aromas are basic malts and hops but nothing over the top. It smells like a malty cascade pale ale. The taste is a bit underwhelming. Slightly hoppy, slightly malty. Easy to drink but it’s got a bit of a copper taste to it and it tastes oxidized. Not a great beer but not terrible.
2.6 Bottle from Plaza Liquors. pours brown with an inch of head. a tad of hop flavor on the nose. A bit of bitterness on the tongue. I’m kind of bored by this one.
