Brewed and dedicated to the believers of Ninkasi. Rich dark malt complexity is balanced by a plentiful hop presence bringing together perfection in every sip. Who knew believing had so many rewards.

3.62" head.. took forever to die back... beautiful lacing.. the brew is a deep red caramel.. deep ruby when held to a lamp.
earthy hoppiness is the main player in the nostrils.. some citric hops are drowned out by toasty malts.. caramel is there too.. but the toasted malts play 1st violin.
flavor begins with an approachable bitterness.. not overdone.. caramel malts with nutty lite cocoa .. fruity/earthy hops.. some cherry??.. finish is sorta minerally/drying with a little caramel essence and grassy hoppiness. medium body and carbonation.. nothing too special in the mouthfeel..
pretty good amber ale... maybe verging a little too much on the dark side of things.. but still very drinkable and very fresh tasting... pretty unique.
3.4Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Dark caramel and resin aromas. Thick with dark caramel and mild pit fruit upfront turning to marshmallow before the lasting bitter resin finish. Good, but I think this one is a little over-aged - would love to try fresh.
3.3With Z, a bomber on Halloween night, pours an amber ruby red color with no head. Nose s hoppy , slightly bitter.Taste is rather sweet and fruity, and malty. Ends on the same sweet tasting notes with a moderately long malty finish . Quaff Score 6 / 10
3.1Bomber. Pours a brown red with a tan head and aroma of hops and caramel malt notes. Taste is sweet and toasty, of malt, caramel, and bready notes along with light hops into the malty finish.
2.9Nice aroma of malt, and hops. Pours a caramel color , clear with no head or carbonation. Taste of hops, malt and caramel with a bitter malt finish.
4.1Bomber at home -- really nice pour, clear with a bubbly big off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of great malts and a bit of spice too. Really nice taste, well balanced and rich and fulfilling. I’m a fan!
3.8Bottle thanks to Sarah! Pours a clear deep red with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread and grain notes with a bit of grassy hops and just a hint of grapefruit. Flavor has more of a combination of grass, bread, grapefruit and sweet grains as well as a hint of caramel.
3.0Definitely a red. Solid ale taste. Moderate bitterness and a decent aftertaste. It’s okay
3.5Not the best IPA I've had. The hops are there but it is a dull flavor without much body to it. It also is plain so in order to really be a good IPA it should have a better kick in my opinion.
3.5Pours Amber with thick sudsy head. Strong malt flavors and aroma. It is well done and the smoky flavor is big and bold.
3.7From the bottle the aroma is bitter and hoppy, taste is very hoppy and bitter matching the aroma, it finishes biter with a little roasted notes.
3.722oz bottle, dark amber-copper color, with a thick pillowy tan chestnut head, leaving some laces. Nice sweet dark dried fruit, bready, toasted, biscuity, caramelized, roasted malty nose, with a fruitcake, toffee, dark chocolate, date square, faint sponge toffee, Graham’s cracker accent, and a subtle crème brûlée, caramel, english pudding, bran muffin, caramelized bread crumb note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a very good sweet roasted, biscuity, toasted, chocolate, caramelized malty, fruitcake, burnt toast, dark bitter chocolate, light flowery minty, leafy, grassy hop character, with some black coffee, subtle tobacco leaf, earthy vegetal tea leaf, sugar pie, dark dried fruit, nut, toffee flavours, leading towards a yeasty, fruity, dark bitter chocolate, fruitcake, dark dried fruit, caramel, roasted, biscuity, caramelized, toasted maltiness, earthy greeny leafy, grassy, minty, citrus hop bitterness finish.
3.7Deep red with a dense, cream coloured head. A beautiful and fruity aroma, theres also nice hints off biscuit and toffee brought about by the dark malts. Those dark malts are a big presence in the taste, toffee and molasses. A rrally nice bitterness hit which helps balance the sweetness. The aftertaste and palate are wonderful, the beer just melts in the mouth and allows the hops to linger. Good carbonation and density.
3.5[My bottle (660ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel] Pours a deep orange-amber with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty and hoppy along with some toffee, nuts and some light vegetal notes. Malty flavour with a decent amount of hops, alcohol and a very bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.
3.8Good Ira! Super stoked! Definitely going to drink this beer again! Good hop flavor balanced with a nice malt undertone.
3.3Bottle. Pours clear, deep red-brown with at good sized head. Excellent retention and lace. Nutty, cereal, barnyard aroma with hint of fruit and resiny hops. Light sweet, medium bitter attack followed by a malty mid-palate. Medium body, creamy texture, and a very long, bitter, dry finish. Well made red ale.
4.6Great deep red. Has wonderful heavy rich flavor. Had on tap. Finally on east coast. One of the better by this brewery. Tap

3.5Aroma is actually pretty subtle overall but you can get roasted malts, caramel, hay and slight clove. Taste is a basic sweet maltiness with an even more basic tanginess. Appearance is a clear dark copper with a thin pearl head that retains moderately well.
3.6Citrus hops and raisin fruity, sweet malt aroma and flavor. Quite a bit of pepper spice, and some tartness in the flavor.
4.0From bottle. Pours a rich reddish copper with a medium thickness off-white head. Good lacing. Aroma of caramel and malts. Nicely sweet, some bitterness, easy to drink and delicious. Medium full mouthfeel.
3.5$7 pint @ Blind Tiger NY
Very friendly party pleaser style albeit miles away from being dumb. Nice sweetness right through the palate and fresh new world hops. Easy to like (a lot).
3.42014-12-04. Brown body wit a small beige head. 3+ Aroma is relatively alcoholic, with some green hops. Flavour is moderately bitter, malty core, muted citrus below green hop character. Quite bitter in the finish. Average bodied palate, light carbonation. Okay, more malty than I’d prefer. The hops aren’t really allowed to shine. Bottle shared by Blankboy.
3.4Keg at the taproom, 10/11/14.
Clear reddish amber with a decent beige covering.
Nose is earthy hop, mineral notes, pine, candied fruits.
Taste comprises bitter orange, candied fruit peel, sweet notes, earthy hop.
Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with hop bitterness.
Ok stuff.
5.0Great crisp bitter aromatic brilliant sharp will drink again!!! 22 characters to go...
3.8Ok tap at BGH. Solid, hoppy red. Great balance, slightly malty on the nose.
3.5A good, well malted brew with loads of caramel and toffee atop light and fruity NW hops. The pour is a bright amber gold with a foamy finger of beige head. The nose has a nice heavy malt with a toasted caramel note and a fruity hop accent. A bit full bodied and sweet with caramel and light nutty notes. The finish is fruity and a mild astringent with a lingering hop profile and a moderate bitterness. Overall, a good brew but not a great example of the style.
3.2Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a super deep mahogany color bordering almost on brown with a one finger head of thick off-white foam. The head sits there with tons of retention, fading over ~ a 10 min time frame to eventually leave tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a toasted malt smell with a large showing of caramel and brown sugar. Along with these aromas comes some lighter dark fruit smells of cheery and plum as well as a little bit of a more grainy smell. Some hop aromas are present in the nose as well with bot a citrus and earthy aroma being mixed with the rest.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather heavily roasted malt and relatively caramel and fruity (cherry and plum) flavor. There are some lighter hop flavors present at the start with both a grapefruit and earthy flavor being on the tongue. Some more grainy and more fruity flavors join the tongue at the middle, overall sweetening the taste a bit. In the end the bitterness really steps it up, brining on much more dank earthy and piney flavors to the tongue, and while I would normally like that, they don’t seem to meld with the other flavors in this one, creating a somewhat unbalanced and slightly off flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The thicker body and lower carbonation seem to up the off dank flavors at the end, and in conjunction with the rest of the flavors, accentuates the mix of rather odd flavors a bit too much.
Overall – Nothing too spectacular here in my opinion. The flavor profile was a bit off with no real melding and complementation. Some may like, but I will likely pass.
3.8Bottle, part of Beer Club at Mr. Goodbar in Buffalo, NY. Nice looking deep mahogany red pour. Smooth and complex.....a little bit of sweetness from the malt but still a nice hop bite as well. Powerful beer, and really well done. I love a nice big red.
3.5draft at Blue Monk. deeper amber pour, fuller bodied. Robust, big malt forward flavor & nose. Caramel, nuttiness, rich toffee. solid dose of bitterness. decent
