4.6 A very hoppy red ale. Oregon delicious. As usual ninkasi delivers high quality brew.
3.3 Bottle. Pours orange with a white head and faint floaties. Mild fruity hops, a little bitterness, light malty sweetness, and a balanced and relatively clean finish. Not bad.
3.8 From a 12 oz bottle. Pours dark gold with head and lace. Aroma of pale malts, grains. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, grains, straw hops, rye, slightly darkened caramel. Overall rich, flavorful...a little bitter but I'd do another!
3.2 Bottle from A.J.'s Beer Warehouse. Aroma of tropical fruits and juicy hops.
3.3 Good enough West Coast IPA, with the added twist of an elevated toasty maltiness. Nice bottle. The malt takes a bit of the hop shock off, making for an easy to drink refresher.
4.4 Dawn of the Red sports a copper-amber color and slightly sturdier malt base than some other Northwestern IPA's, but this brew is as thoroughly hoppy as most other things on the West Coast. It's a rather lovely brew with a clear body and an off-white head. There's a hint of caramel on the nose and palate, but otherwise this red ale is characterized by piney, earthy, and citrusy hops. Bittersweet taste and a crisp finish.
3.5 Malty red beer with a solid hop backbone. Yes I said that backward. But still basic northwest hopped IPA. Thin head average.
3.8 @St. Augs. Amber, bright, medium head. Just a great coating down the glass. Earthy, has some crystal malts right up front on the nose. Earthy, quite fruity with a lot of pear and peach. This is much more to the pale hoppy spectrum than "IRA" would suggest.
4.8 Ninkasi Dawn of the Red has a medium, soapy, off-white head, a mostly clear, orange-red appearance, and minimal lacing. The aroma is of red Jolly Rancher, tea-like qualities, bready malt, brown bread crust, and hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium, and Ninkasi Dawn of the Red finishes medium dry. RJT
3.3 Bottle 12 oz. Clear red with an off white head. Citrus nose with malty tones. Taste is following the nose with a strong bitter finish, which stays long.
3.6 Caramel, citrus, spruce aromas. red with particles floating in suspension. A bit of a turn off. medium sweetness, very bitter. Taste grapefruit, pineapple, pine and slightly spicy. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, average carbonation, bitter finish. It’s good.
3.7 35cl fles. Helder oranje kleur, fijne romige creme schuimkraag. De geur van karamel en tropisch fruit. Smaak is zoet, karamel, citrus en perzik. Vol Lichaam, Veel koolzuur.
3.4 Bottle from a supermarket in Brookings, Oregon. Aroma is sweetish biscuity malt, light caramel, hops, fruits, resiny notes, berries, spruce. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and above moderate bitter. Body is medium. A fine malty hoppy Red IPA.
3.7 red color; piney hop aroma with some bready malt notes; piney hops and bready malt in the flavor as well; dry, bitter finish
3.7 12 oz bottle from Wegmans This is an excellent red IPA. The IPA poured a hazy amber color with a frothy off-white head and lacing. Complex IPA with pears and tropical fruit on the nose. The IPA has a medium body with average carbonation. The taste had an earthy edge with more tropical fruit. The high IBU 75 was not expected from this very balanced IPA. There is some lingering bitterness after each swallow.
3.3 Draft at Churchkey. Poured a clear ruby red color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light fruity notes. Very malt forward. Sweet malts. Light resin notes. Sweetness.
3.7 A goood red, not too much of a bite like some reds but flavors like an IPA.
3.7 Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is fruity malts and earthy hops. Taste is earthy and fruity. Reminded me of a hopped up Amber Ale.
1.9 Bottle. Murky brownish ornage color. Frothy head. Big fruity aroma, raisins, dark fruit. Malty character, fruity hops. Taste is also big raisin and dark fruit, malty sweet, kinda like an old homebrew. I did not like this.
3.6 (Tap) clear, bright orange colour with a small white head; aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, creamy palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
3.2 12oz bottle - it pours a clear copper bronze color with suspended particulates and a thin off white head. Not bad but nothing outstanding - some light bready red maltiness and a hop forward flavor with citrus and tropical notes.
3.9 Nice bitter ale. Light colour, little foam. Cuts through spicy food nicely. Acceptable
3.5 One of the standouts from the free dust box which I was very surprised to receive. Cloudy with sediment. Thin white top and minor lacing. I smell tropical fruit and that’s always welcome over most else. Peaches and pineapples. Wish the aroma was stronger as I love it when I can smell an IPA through my eyes. The flavours are very good. Balanced but not crazy... I prefer crazy. Really good mouthfeel due to the soft, fine carbonation. A thicker beer would be preferred. Tropic blend, peach, mellow rrgf, some juice, 75 ibu come across just above medium in dosage. ORIGINAL GRAVITY OF 1072!!!!!!!!! OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!! so... I know the definition but what the hell does it really mean? What changes if this was 1073? Enjoyable beer done up in my my fave ipa style. Would have loved this to be an absolute beast.
4.1 Bottle to glass- pours a cloudy marmalade color with a resilient white head. Aaron’s is tropical, citrus, celery, traces of honey. More tropical on the tongue with some peach along with an underlying malt edge with caramel and breads. Fairly dry finish with a bite of mild spice. Great beer!
3.6 12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $0.99 Very good.
4.0 From a bottle. Nice amount of biscuit sweetness, earthy spice and a decent fruit hop hit.
3.9 Bottle from variety. Sweet malted aroma, bread, citrus. Smell is mango, orange, pineapple. Very tropical. Hidden hops. Taste is sharp and biting but mellows out and more sweet and fruity.
3.2 TAP. Gold to amber with good off white head..Malty nose that goes to "sweet candy" hops..Big malt body, biscuit goes to caramel/syrup, yet back end turns to a sharp hop bitterness.. Sourced ninkasi
3.5 Bottle. Lemon citrus aroma with hints of caramel. Golden in colour with a frothy mid-sized head. Lemon zest hoppy flavour with caramel notes. Medium body and a sharp bitter finish.
4.1 really good beer with the funk and the tropical fruit. nicely ambered red and hopped out with some ivy and wood. good malt in the flavor and that heavy butterscotch scratch in the palate that describes amber. not too sweet and a morphing masterpiece really. red juicy fruit.
