3.6Bottle. Black with a thick beige head that leaves nice lacing as it recedes. Aroma is super roasty with cocoa, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste is bakers chocolate, roasted oats, cocoa, and vanilla. Body is creamyish and somewhat thin for the style.
3.422oz bottle. Small beige head atop moderately sweet, roast, some vanilla, light earthy. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some vanilla, roast, earthy/grapefruit, light cherry. Light-medium body, low carbonation.
3.5Aromas of dark malts, ashtray, charcoal, tobacco, toffee, toasted bread, dark grain malt and faint vanilla. Pours pitch black with a thin brown foam. Taste offers chocolate, mocha, malt syrup, grain malt, toffee, toasted dark malts, dry coffee rinds and very subtle vanilla. Finishes with sweet coffee, caramel, mocha and dried out bread. Overall, pretty solid offering with a unique nutty, chocolate bread twist to it. B rating.
4.5Hints of coffee on the nose. Pours black, viscous with dense clingy caramel head. Upfront charcoal quickly followed by the vanilla. Lovely soft mouth feel. The charcoal returns on the finish but never intrusive.
3.6Poured from a bottle. Nice frothy head. Chocolate brown color, decent lacing. Vanilla and dark chocolate, a little tangy, chalky.
3.6Poured from a bottle. Dark brown color, full frothy tan head with nice lacing. Sour milk malt and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a sweet vanilla chocolate malt flavor and a slight sweet and bitter finish.
4.1Draft... Delicious! Black with beige head. Very nibby from start to finish... But not just the cocoa and vanilla but a nice coffee character, nuttiness too. Good stuff.
3.7(Tap) clear, bright, very dark brown colour with a medium tall brown head; intense aroma of chocolate liqueur, vanilla; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish
3.7Bottle. Vanilla, oats, coffee and dark chocolate aroma. Pours a very dark brown with almost no head and minimal carbonation. Roasted coffee, dark chocolate and oat flavours - very malty. Medium bodied and very smooth. Hint of bitterness in the finish. Pretty good.

4.0Bottle shared. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of foam that lingers. Huge vanilla bean nose, caramel and milk chocolate. Light with more of the same on the palate. Creamy vanilla. Light toasted vanilla.
3.4Chris brought this one too me from a trip to Utah. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was dry, roasty, woody and had notes of vanilla and floral hops. The flavor was bitter, dryish and toasty with cocoa, coffee, vanilla, wood and a hint t of red meat. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Nice.
3.8355 ml bottle.

3.2Brown, nice head, aroma of chocolate, vanilla, wood, caramel, flavor of vanilla, chocolate, wood, caramel, medium bodied.
4.0A decadent oatmeal stout that pairs really well with cheesecake. Oatis pour a rich mahogany and settles out to be midnight black in the glass with dark brownish ruby at the edges. The head is short-lived creamy light brown. Vanilla and caramel permeate invitingly from the glass. Vanilla, caramel, subtle roast, cocoa and plum dance on the pallette.
3.8Bottle. This is a nice thick and roasty sweet stout with lots of body. I like it a bit better on the colder side to cut down on the cloying tendency of the style.
4.1On tap at St. Augistine’s. Pours a very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma brings out chocolate cake note with vanilla notes. Same character taste and aftertaste with hoppy and burnt malt bitterness. Excellent!
3.2Decent, if maybe a little underwhelming. Pours very dark brown, no real head. The aroma is bitter baker’s chocolate, but it’s very restrained. The flavor is restrained, too. I don’t pick up on the usual rich, cereal malt thing that I enjoy about oatmeal stouts. The front of the tongue is watery, but the finish is a little better. A little bitter, roasted malt, and just the slightest hint of vanilla show up on the back end.
3.8Bomber. Dark oily pour with a tan head. Roasty, vanilla, some cocoa. A bit dry. Quite good.
3.8Visual: Part of a 4-pack, mixed bombers. Pours jet black with a quickly dissipating small head, a thin layer of retention, a few bubbles here and there.
Nose: sweet medium roasted caramel barley malt, prominent vanilla (lvl-8)-pungency
Attack: slick-oily-thick, crisp bite
Mid-palate: thick liquid deep roast barley malt, (lvl-6-sweetness), background dissipating tangy sour, milk sugars
Finish: chocolate, vanilla, lingering roasted bitter intermixed with bitter hops
Summary: A deliciously decadent mix of dark roasty chocolate vanilla - great balance, drinkability, and complexity. Lots of flavours you can focus individually on.
3.6[Dec 24 2015] Bottle from Happy Valley Supermarket, Portland OR. Black body with big tan mocha head. Nose is toasty, vanilla, dark fruits and malts. Taste is roasty, dark fruits. Bitter in the finish.
3.8BOTTLE. Cola black pour with minimal tan head.. Vanilla & strong malts aroma, with a hint of cherry??.. Good dark malt & creamy texture to start, vanilla is prominent middle to end finishing with a solid dark malt & chocolate bitterness combo.. Sourced Cape Cellars
4.012oz ppur from chilled bomber into shaker. Dark, opaque, smooth brown head, but a bit thin. Sweet roasty vanilla nose. Creamy smooth body. Taste is awesome. Cake sweet, vanilla, a nice lasting bitterness. Delicious.
3.8Location: 22 oz bottle obtained through Tavour
Appearance: Deep brown black. smaller head of tan bubbles.
Nose: Sweet. dark chocolate. Malt forward. Obligatory vanilla notes.
Taste: toasted oats, roast nut, some coffee. Vanilla and some chocolate bitters
Body: medium to full and creamy
Parting thoughts: First beer from a highly regarded brewery. Solid above average. Not otherworldly though.
3.4Draft at Bru Craft. Pitch black pour with a thick top of khaki foam. Messy rows of lace. Glossy dark roasted malts. Milky dark cocoa. Vanilla hazelnut coffee. The oats fill out the body nicely. Hints of tree nuts and burnt toast. Solid but not extraordinary.
3.3Nice sweet aroma of vanilla, roast, dark fruit and oats. Surprisingly boozy in the scent. Flat black color with a big pillow of light brown foam. Tastes more roasty than sweet with the same dark fruit characteristics as in the aroma. Slightly bitter in the aftertaste. Average palate, a little watery. This was just ok. I disagree with the high rating.
3.9It pours black with a brown head. There is plenty of lacing on the glass. It has aromas of oats, vanilla, and chocolate. There are oat, chocolate, and vanilla flavors with hints of coffee. It has a very creamy texture that has a medium feel and finishes moderately bitter.
4.5Bottle in Lethbridge. Aroma was dominated by super dark chocolate chocolate and coffee. It was super dark, a latte coloured head. The taste was vanilla and chocolate but I also detected some anise as well. I think that might have been because of the hops, a tinge of bitterness with played well with the dark chocolate elements. I wish I could have this again.
3.1Bottle, found at LA liquor store. I found that the hops was overpowering but did appreciate the lingering dark cocoa flavors.
3.222oz bottle shared with Headbanger. Color is black with good carbonation and a nice light brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and hint of vanilla in the back. It has a full with a lighter and smooth mouth feel. Flavor is lightly roasted with just a touch of coffee and chocolate. In the after taste a bit of bitterness show with a just a hint of vanilla. Overall its an easy drinking light stout, was hoping the vanilla showed a little more.
