3.8 Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is pine, spruce, earthy wet moss. Taste is thin and forest-y, lots of spruce, bitter peels. Bright wet forest and bitter NorPac vibes.
3.4 Bottle at Bräu Beviale. Hazy amber, offwhite head. Nice orangepeel aroma. Medium body, crystal with the crystal, light resin, dank, sticky, herbal finish.
3.3 Provata in bottiglia da 0,66. Colore ambrato con schiuma bianca persistente. Al naso frutta tropicale e albicocca. Al palato malto e frutti a buccia gialla. Finale decisamente amaro, forse troppo per lo stile. Carbonazione media, corpo pieno.
4.0 I have become a fan of Ninkasi after our son introduced us to this Brewery about 5 years ago.
4.3 Fles 35,5cl in Seattle. Citrus, bloemig, drogig, bitter. (9-2016).--------.
3.6 Bottled 1/18/18, drunk 3/9/18. Hazy, warm-toned, honey-amber-marmalade. Medium-sized, white head fades to ring steadily. West coast citrus-like hop profile mixes with playful yellow fruit. Leafy wintergreen and sprucey conifer emerge with light biscuit behind it. Pinch of pine-like resin on the end with no alcohol or flaw. Soft and malty with a bit of bland, papery oxidation and/or yeast, but still robustly hoppy with tons of grapefruit-pineapple. Light honey and bread-like malt lingering behind it. More sweetness emerging on the finish, especially with warming. Good carbonation and soft texture with ample attenuation.
3.5 From: 750ml Cla bday bottle Aroma: malty bread sweetness Appearance : hazy gold with white beady head Taste: hoppy malted front with slight citrus middle and a piney grapefruit bitter finish. After taste lingers Palate: medium bodied sort of syrupy thickness Overall: a little too hoppy and bitter for me to want more but wouldn't turn it away
3.3 Aroma 6 /10: malt Appearance 3 /5: medium amber, frothy white head Palate 3 /5: medium body, moderate carb, slightly resinous Taste 6/10: Fairly standard ipa. Green, piney, a little floral, malty and sweet in the finish. Overall 15/20: easy to drink ipa, nothing that stands our ad either offensive or particularly exciting Final: 3.3
3.6 355ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Piney, floral, slightly resinous and perfumed, hoppy aroma. Taste is crisp, bitter hoppy, piney and floral, slightly resinous, dry, pale malty basis without residual sweetness; full body, smooth and soft palate, gentle carbonation.
3.5 Pours foggy gold with a big frothy white top. Aroma is slightly subdued bready malt with low pine hops. Taste is low bitterness, a little muddled with the bitterness and hop profile. Not my favourite from Ninkasi.
3.9 Six pack from Ben's. Fresh date. Clear light golden amber with fine carbonation and a frothy off-white head. Fresh citrus and floral hop profile with some fruit and bubblegum. Body on the lighter side. Long bittersweet finish. Well made and tasty.
3.6 On tap at restaurant, Portland, Oregon. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a creamy light beige head. Fruity aroma of grapefruit, pine, grass and something reminding me of New Zealand hops. The flavour is similar and is a little dry. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a medium bitterness. Fruity and balanced IPA.
2.9 Good Eugene, Oregon beer. Not a bad after taste and would definitely drink again.
3.6 From a 12 oz bottle into a Het Kapittel chalice. Pours gold with head and lace. Aroma of fresh hops, pale malts, grains and melon notes. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of pale malts, grains, minerals, straw hops, subtle pepper, herbs & toothpaste. Overall rich, bold, and satisfying for a somewhat bitter hop lover.
4.0 Straight out of e town, a good IPA. Smooth and pretty bitter on the after taste.
4.5 Ninkasi's Total Domination is a surefire way to get a Northwestern hop fix. This brew is definitely a hop bomb. It pours gold. Pine, grass, leaves, and stone fruit aromatics. Piney, floral, and citrusy flavors. There's some pungent ginger and garlic. There's also softer touches of stone fruit, nectar, and honey. It's a chewy, sticky ale that isn't for anyone who is averse to bitterness.
3.2 In bottle. Lots of building bitterness with lots of malt. Not very complex. Light citrus. Not very enjoyable.
3.3 Bottle from New Beer Distributors, New York. Pours amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit, caramel, flowers, hop, malt, orange and light yeast. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Finish is creamy with increasing bitterness.
3.3 Aroma: citrus, pines. Taste: sweet malt from the start, hoppy finish and aftertaste. Pleasant mix of citrus, herbs and grass hops. Low rating because of impossible to take off label
3.5 on tap at Thai Bloom in Portland. Clear copper with an off-white head. Sweet bready and floral aroma. Mild bitterness in the taste.
3.8 Golden with a white head - Fruity hop aroma with some citrus - Malt body to support a hop flavour that has a good bitterness with some fruity citrsu notes - The hops with bitterness goes into the finish - This was good
3.6 From a bottle poured a copper color with a fair amount of head. Light happy flavor with a quick finish.
3.5 Popped in the freezer in a frosted mug, it was really good. Rich and flavorful, just another awesome IPA. Some hit, some miss but this one nailed it
3.5 Flaske, duft citrus malt karakter svag appelsin skal, smag malt sæd appelsin frisk citrus lime mango
3.5 Bottle from Vons, Las Vegas. Pours hazy golden with a slowly diminishing, foamy, white head that leaves lacing. The aroma contains floral hops, citrus, malt and some spices. It tastes light malty sweet and medium hoppy bitter with a dry finish. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Smooth and balanced.
2.5 Bottle from a supermarket in Oregon. Aroma is malt, floral hops, lots of grapefruit, pine and spruce. Flavour is moderate sweet with an annoyingly harsh bitterness. Body is medium. Wow, I didn’t expect such a poorly balanced IPA from Ninkasi. Very disappointing.
3.1 65cl fles. Helder oranje kleur, fijne romige witte schuimkraag. De geur van citrus en kruiden. Smaak is zoet, citrus, karamel en meloen. Medium Lichaam, Veel koolzuur.
3.4 Draft. Dark gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of bready and slightly toasted pale malt, along with mild sour citrus. Flavors are of light German malts, mild pink grapefruit, and a bit of black pepper. Medium bodied. A bit to skewed towards the malts for my taste, but it still comes across as clean. Probably more balanced for a lot of folks.
3.7 Restrained citrus aroma in a hazy gold pour. Hop forward balance with restrained fruity body and sustained bitter finish is spot on for the style. You’ll not go wrong ordering one of these.
