No-Li Born & Raised IPA

No-Li Born & Raised IPA

This big, bold copper-colored ale showcases Munich & Crystal malts to create a big supportive body on which we layer our favorite Washington hops. Chinook & Cascade provide citrus and piney flavors, while Northern Brewer adds a hint of mint. Dry-hopping with Cascade and Columbus increases the beer’s hoppy aromas. Malt, hops and yeast-derived fruitiness combine to create our most complex offering.

3.2 doesn’t seem to be the freshest, but still ok. Light floral and minty hops, moderate bitterness and a firm malt backbone, caramel and bread.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a clear red copper with a one finger beige head and minimal lacing. Smells of rust, pine, fruit. Taste is of black coffee and is malt heavy. Bitterness hits hard and lasts. Aftertaste is the best part of this one, when the actual flavors show through best.
3.4 4oz taster @ VCBW 2016-Day 1. Creamy entry, good balance of malt and hops. Clean finish with not too harsh bitterness. Some pine as well.
3.7 Aromas of citrus and pine. A little earthy. Nice copper color with a big head. Nice weight and smooth. Flavors are subtle bitter with honey and grain. Complex and delicious.
3.0 Bottle thanks to Sarah! Pours a hazy deep amber copper with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a strong malt profile with lots of sweet grains and some earthy pine underlying. Flavor has more of a grass and sweet grain combination with some pine and a bit of caramel.
3.6 Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Murky, dark amber with a small, fine light-khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of pine resin, dank citrus, herbal hops and tropical fruit. Taste of herbal hops, resin, dank citrus, earthiness and tropical fruit. Medium/full body and medium/high carbonization.
2.9 Type: 22-oz. bottle Glass: Clear hotel snifter glass From: Whole Foods Market in Honolulu, Hawaii Price: $6.99 Purchased: Dec. 20, 2015 Consumed: Dec. 23, 2015 Misc.: N/A Poured a dark honey, brown, murky color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki white, frothy head. Excellent foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Excellent retention. (Sight - 3.75) Smelled cascade hops, herbal hops, menthol, rye hops, spicy chinook hops, caramel, toffee and veggies. (Smell - 3.25) Taste follows the nose, seeming more like a strong ale than an IPA (even an English IPA). Got caramel, toffee, herbal hops, menthol, cascade hops, tobacco and dates. Very malty. (Taste - 3.25) Medium body. Creamy texture Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 3.75) This should really be an American Strong Ale, but I reviwed this according to an IPA. Would have been around a 3.75 I would guess if reviewed this as an ASA. (Overall - 3.25) 3.33 76 B-
3.7 Bottle to IPA glass Consummation: Citrusy and grainy pine sap. Adjunct: Bitter, creamy in looks and taste, flowery, and looks nice.
3.3 A nice oily body throughout this one. Tangerine and a little straw. A solid, leafy bitterness.
3.4 Bottled@SBWF2015. Amber colour, small white head. aroma is fruity, floral, wooden and some mild citrus and sweet malts to it. Flavour is similar, with resin and wood coming in more evidently. Nice bitterness in the finish.
3.3 Bottle at SBWF2015. Amber color, small white head. Bready malts, fruits in the nose. Medium-bodied. Malty, caramelly and late bitterness. Malty ipa. Strange but ok.
3.4 Bottle @sbwf15. Dark amber with a thick white head. Citrusy fruity, caramelly aroma, some grapefruit. Flavor has caramel, hops, grapefruit. Nice bitterness, but kinda sweet.
4.7 I sampled this on a 5 ounce sample flight. I had to buy a bottle and take it home. I really enjoyed this one. It pours a nice copper color with a thin white head. Very bitter with a smooth slightly caramel finish. A very good ipa.
3.6 Bottle at Craigs. Pours golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of dank, resinous hops, pith. Taste is solid ipa territory, skunky finish.
3.5 Bottle at craig’s. Pours clear amber, nose is herbal, toffee, pine, taste is dry, bitter, sweet toffee, fruity
3.1 Bottle at home... Copper.. Thin white lacing.. Soft sweet berries fruit.. Soft toffee fruit nose... Soft sweet fruits.. Soft toffee fruit.. Light bitter malts... Soft fruits.. Juicy malts.. Light bitter fruits
4.5 bottle from gbbf15 don’t normally go for the bigger bottles but glad i did with this one a nice pale colour good hop flavour and taste with a good bitter finish
3.9 Bottle at GBBF. Thick, yellowish, creamy, lacing, frothy and very stable head over a deep orange blonde, almost amberish beer, darker and more red than average for the style - red IPA? Aroma of strawberry, lots of tangelo, pine resin, grapefruit peel, passionfruit, green tea, mango, caramel, toasted pine nuts, baked banana. Cleanly fruity and malty inset, bit toasted and biscuity like the amber colour already announced, fizzy but smooth with exotich fruits retronasally as well as a deep grapefruity and piney hop bitterness, very long, very aromatic but harshly bittering as well, resiny with some minerally saltiness, abrasive, very herbal and lasting for a long time. Quite an agressive IPA, but I liked it.
3.2 Drinking this mostly as a chaser to that nasty smoked ale just before - like seriously, that stuff just does not jive with my goods. I gotta tell ya. This has a very nice head- strong and sitting on top of a decent brown body with no carbonation. Aroma is sweet hops, typical hops, decent hops, American hops; yeah, there’s no layering here but it screams craft beer IPA like al the rest. Flavour is a decent balanced mix of hops with a hint of malt. Just okay, well made, but hard to pick out of a crowd.
4.0 Dam nice diverse cratery head. Good depth color. Springy pineyness. Nice foaming frostiness. Aftertaste, alcohol.
3.4 Very solid NW ipa. I’ve had 2 beers from this brewery and thought both were outstanding for the region. Typicall I expect the NW pales and IPS to be a little towards the maltier side, but these are much more hop forward. This is a crisp and easy chugger. Digging it.
3.5 Bottle - Compliments of Indiana_Red’s wife - Semi clear gold with a white head. Hoppy aroma with a off beat citrusy flavor and solid hop bitterness on the trailer. Pretty good.
3.5 Slightly hazy deep orange golden soapy persistent off-white head. Mild hoppy aromas and flavors. A mx of citrus and floral piney nites. Good all-around IPA. Not very big in any category but decent in all
3.6 Bold Amber orange with a off-white head. Citrus fruit and pine in the aroma with a background malt sweetness. Comes across rather bitter to begin with. The malt really seems to reign in the hop profile. Has a slightly rusty feeling to it. Finish is a long on the bitterness and short on flavor. Decent and different.
3.8 Bottle. Copper with a light tan head. Malt forward with a piney hop presence that builds with every sip. Caramel, biscuits, bread crust, citrus and floral notes pop up. Very good overall.
4.5 Poured from a 22. Aroma is hoppy and floral. Flavor is smooth, slightly biscuit and citrus. Nothing too overpowering here. Finish has a bit of a bite to it. Overall easy drinking beer!
4.0 Darker than expected, copper coloured with golden head. Aroma is resin, pine, grapefruit and caramel sweetness. Taste is good, earthy bitterness, caramel maltiness, bit of citrus and grass at the end and maybe slightly nutty. Bitter finish leaves a pleasant tingle on the tongue. Very nice!
3.9 Appearance is a hazy orange amber supporting a healthy steady head leaving collared lace. Smell is sweet with citrus with a piney aroma. Taste is hop forward of the malt having that piney grapefruit with the sweetness of the malt. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Makes for a nice IPA offering.
3.8 Pours hazy amber with some of white head. A powerful pine aroma with hints of white fruit. Very dry with a powerful bitter finish.
3.8 Good piney IPA, quite enjoyed this. Pours pale amber, good head and lacing. Aroma and taste of pine, hops, citrus.
