3.0 This was an okay Vienna lager. Not much aroma and the taste was basic Amber/Vienna style.
2.9 Bottle says this is a bock. Too thin for it. A little grainy (DMS). Some malty aroma, a bit of burnt sugar/dark crystal. Decent bitterness backing up the malt. Some metallic taste. Definitely lacks the malt aroma and thickness of a bock, but it’s an OK beer.
3.9 caramel, floral, citrus, basement aromas, soy sauce, red, hazy, minimal head, tan foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, soft carbonation, astringent, long finish,
3.0 0.355l bottle. Clear brownish amber body, almost no head. Neither the aroma nor the taste are so powerful but both of them are OK. Both have notes of grain, caramel and toast. Quite sweet with light medium body. Not bad, but I’ve had better christmas beers.
2.7 the color and alcohol suggests its a bock, just like label claims, although the taste is more a normal macro dark lager; some bitter with a little alcoholic taste, faint metallic aftertaste and somewhat watery... drinkable but easy to replace.
2.4 "Darker pour than the average lager. Smells of flowers and grain. Slightly medicinal but not overtly so. Otherwise kinda average across the board. Nothing I’d ever seek out again, but not bad. Cereal is the main player in the flavor, with a slight alcohol kick."
2.7 [Bottle] Light amber pour with a fizzy white head. Dusty grain and bread in the nose. Taste is of toffee, light grassy hops and maybe some cocoa powder. Body is typical of Mexican amber lagers. Tasting notes from 2012.
3.0 355 ml bottle thanks to Hector for bringing it to Florida from Mexico! 2013 edition. Sampled in January 26, 2013. Clear brown color, big teal head. Sweet, mineral scent. Sweet, malty taste. Sweet aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness. A bit dry.
2.6 pours a amber color that dissipates very quickly. the aroma is caramel and malts. the taste is watery with some sweet malts.
2.2 12oz bottle, rich amber in appearance. Aroma is fairly muted, some caramel and light malt. Taste is pretty mild as well, caramel malt and grain, light and watery.
2.2 Pours a clear amber with a one finger head which dissipates quickly. Smell is mild with lightly toasted grains. Taste of sweet grains with some slight spicy hops. Light bodied, with prickly carbonation. Not a very good representation of a bock, but drinkable.
1.5 Bottle from Pizza port Bottle Shop. Pours brown with an inch of brown foam. leaves a fair amount of lacing in the glass. Not much on the nose. It tastes oily and corny and totally disgusting. Jeez what a shitty beer!
5.0 its so good can’t believe we have to wait till th end of the year to have some of this beer
2.5 Poured from a bottle- color is a legitimate clear brown with off white head that soon reduces to a ring. The smell is a bready-maltyness that is reminiscent of smelling the Rogue brewery. Flavor is that more of an Amber rather than a "bock" which is claimed on the label. Some light maltiness, a vague touch of sour with watery finish. 5.7 BD
2.3 12 oz bottle pours a clear copper/brown color with quickly vanishing white head but some lacing. Aroma is caramel, cardboard, apple, and vegetables. Average carbonation and a taste that is neither bitter nor sweet. Body is thin. Unfortunately, there is a somewhat mettalic finish. Below average and worse than Dos Equis Amber/Dark..
2.8 12 ounce botle poured a light cloudy brown color with aromas of toffee, bread, earth and a touch of caedboard. Flavors are the same, light grassy hops, meh.
Paladar casi nulo.
2.1 Bottle found while housesitting. Tastes like B-rated Negra Modelo...notes of acidic citrus, caramel. Very watery, but not bad when very cold.
1.9 Medium brown and murky. Not much of an aroma, but some caramel and apple. Sweet fruit, rather metallic.
2.6 330, capped and foiled. Thanks a! Pours a clear dark brown with a scant tan head. Tart and tangy nose of aluminum, artichokes, and marinara sauce. Watery medium body. Mid palate also tastes like aluminum, artichokes, and marinara sauce, except roasty. Not so good.
2.7 The pour is amber with a thin white head that doesn’t leave lacing. The aroma is light and unmemorable. The taste is quite clean and crisp with just a touch of a hop bite in the end. Drinkable.
2.7 Bottle. Clear and light brown in color. Nice off white head. Nice lace. Aroma is really malty. Taste is bread. Molasses after-taste. Kind of watery.
2.1 2011 vintage. The beer pours a clear amber color with a few bubbles but no real head. The aroma is pretty much non-existent but I do get a little something that resembles cardboard. The flavor is also faint. I get some light grass and earth, as well as a hint of toffee. Not much going on here.
2.6 Medium amber with a fizzy quickly dissolving head. Not much visual carbonation at all. Aroma of sweet malt. Thin spritzy mouthfeel that is somewhat dry. One of the better Mexican Imports but well below the style.
2.5 0,355l bottle from Mexico. Pours clear brown with a very low head. Aroma is weak, mostly malts. Flavor is somewhat sweet malts with a hint of nuts. Very thin body for the ABV. Drinkable, nothing more.
2.2 Serving: 12 oz. bottle from a Dos Equis mixed case from Costco. It pours a deep reddish amber color with a slight off white head. The nose has a slight metallic note and a hint of malt The flavor reminds me of Dos Equis Amber. A little bread and a hint of malt sweetness along with an off metallic note and a bitterness that didn’t match well. One was definitely enough. Medium body with average carbonation.
1.7 Marron pale, presque pas de mousse. Je trouve le nez et le goût artificiel, peut-être un peu du caramel. Pas bonne.
2.6 Bottle. Nose is light caramel nose with a known corn/adjunct tinge. Taste is sweet, corn, slight metallix tinge. At least there is some taste here which means I would drink again over other light offerings, but too sweet and meh overall
2.9 Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy/frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, caramel, husks), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs, lemon), with a hint of metal. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Surprisingly good. This brewery makes probably the best Mexican macro I’ve had (Bohemia, which I prefer over the popular beer geek favorite, Negra Modelo), and this one is just as enjoyable. Sure, it’s simple and watery and a bit husky and metallic, but in the world of megabrewed Mexican lagers, it doesn’t get much better. Toasty malt, bright hops, decent balance.
2.5 From a 12 oz bottle into a plastic cup. Pours a hazy cola color with a white head. Vegetal aroma. Thin mouthfeel. Hints of lime. Nothing special.
