Nøgne Ø Blonde

Nøgne Ø Blonde

Editor’s note: Originally launced as bottle conditioned Kos på Groos as a festival beer for the Skral rock/pop festival in 2008. Spring 2009 it was relaunched as Blonde, tap only. For the Free Port Days in Kristiansand June 2009 it was sold bottle conditioned once more, this time with an extra addition of Cascade hops, under the name Porto Franco. Released on bottle as Blonde January 2011.

On the label of Kos på Groos: Kos På Groos nytes best avkjølt i sola mens man opplever god musikk.

On the label of Porto Franco: Øl har lange tradisjoner til sjøs.

English:Blonde Ale is refreshing anytime, but especially after working outside om a hot summer day.Serve at 6 degrees C and pair with seafood and other light meals. Nøgne Ø ales are bottle conditioned, so pour carefully if you do not want to disturb the yeast sediments in the bottle.

3.0 Pours hazy golden with medium fluffy head. Sweet smell, aswell as some pale mat and light bread.
2.8 There was a tiny bit of sweetness from the pale malt with some hints of the cascade hops left in the form of citrus aroma and taste. Light yellow with a clear white head. Lots of biscuit, malt and bread in the flavour, did also get some weetabix on the nose which was strange and there should only be barley in this brew?
3.4 500ml bottle. Hazy golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally spicy, yeasty aroma, fresh, citrusy hoppy overtones, lemon notes, a touch of apricot and mirabelle. Taste is dry, citrusy hoppy, notes of lemon, a minimally grassy touch, slightly bready, pale malty basis, cautious yeasty spiciness. Solid.
