3.3 500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark reddish-tinged brown, no head. Aromas of chocolate malt, cereal and iron. Taste has chocolate and coffee, decent balance of bitter and sweet. Medium body, slick texture, short finish. Not the most exciting beer they’ve ever done, but solid enough.
2.9 Deep reddish brown color, light golden head. Malty aroma with hints of wheat. Malty and fruity taste with hints of berries and dried fruit, belgian yeast.
2.8 Uklar brun med beige skum. Malt, karamell og litt røyklukt. Søt alkoholsmak. Lite kullsyre, lite bitterhet, medium + søt
2.5 31st January 2013 Hazy red - amber beer with a good pale tan head. Palate is slightly soft with good minerally carbonation. Malt is thin and slightly creamy and carries a whisper of smoke. Forensic trace of hops. Semi dry finish. Deathly dull.
3.1 Mørk brun farve med lyst skum. Lukt av frukt og malt. Smak av malt, karamell og frukt. Vinmonopolet.
3.2 Lite hengende skum. Fin dunkel brun farge. Lite lukt, men likevell litt av rosin og eik. God smak av rosin ig frukter.
3.3 Bottle 50cl. Medium to small off white head. Dark rotten fruit hazy color. Sour mix, silo and fireworks for the nose. Flavour is much more down. In fact down to earth, overripe fruit and almonds.
4.0 500ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Dark chestnut brown, reasonable head. Nutty malt aroma &flavour, smooth with sweet aftertaste. Not normally my favourite style of beer but I like this one.
3.2 Bottle - 500ml. Hazy copper body with a thin off-white foamy head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and caramel hints. Its well balanced taste carries grainy notes and ends with a decent bitter/grainy finish. Enjoyable.
3.5 Draft at Farmers Cabinet. Hazy brown pour. Slim tan foamy head. Sour brown fruit. Cigarettes. Prunes. Hemp. Burlap. Bark. Brown sugar - but more sour, dry and smoky than sweet. Less complicated than other Haand beers but nice and solid.
2.9 Nøgene ø slår aldri feil . Nydelig belgisk inspirert med lukt av kaffe . Mild og fin. Denne er passer godt til sjokolade og dessert.
3.0 Aroma was typical brown ale. Smoked leaves, caramel, and pumpkin seed. Poured brun with white lacing. Tasted like a brown ale. Brown sugar, roasted caramel and a slight pine hop. Very light in the mouth and taste. Forgettable.
3.6 Bottle. Blackish brown beer with a light head. The aroma is roasted with some chocolatyness, the flavour is much the same with a maltyness that goes with with the roasted and chocolate aspects of the beer. Overall a nice roasted beer, good bitterness at the finish.
3.5 Gusher. Dark brown with big head in a wide tulip glass. Smells.. Roasted malts, woody nuts, candy and maybe a hint of cocoa. Tastes.. Very malty and nutty and candy.. seems very well balanced. Not bold, but a cruisy brown.
3.5 Bottle at Naboen, Bergen. Pours an unclear brown colour with a small beige creamy head. Aroma of dried fruit, leather, chocolate, some coffee and some nice roasted tones. Some of the same stuff in the flavour but is more malty with wood and nuts. Balanced and nice. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. An incredibly balanced and easy-drinking dark Belgian ale.
2.9 50cl bottle poured into a Chimay Trappist glass. Aroma is yeast and candy sugar. Flavor is standard Belgian ale. It is good but nothing to write home about.
2.7 Brun i färgen, beige skum. Doftar fullkornsbröd, lite syrligt, jäst, milda pepparkakor. Smakar bröd, malt, bittert, torr avslutning.
3.0 Pours a brown colour with a one-finger tan head. Aroma of caramel, yeast and some mild nutty notes. Flavour is a bit boring to me, caramel, nuts, leaves and some dough maybe. Medium body with a soft mouthfeel and soft carbonation. An okey beer, but a bit boring
2.9 500 ml bottle. Batch #753. BB 18/01/15. (Vinmonopolet) Mo i Rana, Norway. Hazy brown colour with small tan head. Yeast, brown sugar, malt and mild dark fruits in aroma. Flavour is dark malt, yeast, hints of hops and dark fruits. Quite simple and boring Ale.
3.3 #386 Clear brown, no head. Aroma of coffee and malt. Short taste, maybe a little old.
3.1 Bottle from Super Best, Rødovre. Unclear brown colour with a biege head. Aroma and flavour of caramel, roasted malt, hops and chocolate.
3.4 Bottle 0,5ltr: Hazy brown coloured brew with an fine taste of roasted malts, chocolate and caramel, an fine Norwegian Abbey Double-Style.
3.1 Bottle, traded with Palme, many thanks! Dark brown-ruby with a medium head. Aroma is initially some soy sauce, then caramel and licorice, some milk chocolate. Hints of wet earth, forest fruit and coffee. Interesting though a bit tame. Rather dry taste with a light to medium, malty-hoppy bitterness. A fruity-coffee-chocolate aftertaste. Nice, velvety carbonation. A bit too dry for my liking given the aroma profile.
3.3 Bottle at home - 05/09/12. Pours a clear mid brown with a decent off-white head that retained fairly well. Nose is malts, nuts, toffee and a little woodiness and a pinch of cinnamon. Tastes of brown sugar, malt, prunes, toffee and a little nutty and a crumb or two of biscuit. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, perhaps a little over carbonated. Medium sweet finish. A little thin.
3.5 50 cl bottle in Grebbestad. Brownalmost clear beer with a small white head. Malty, hoppy, citrus, orange, ginger aroma. Malty and citrus flavour with a nice touch of choclate notes.
3.4 Henrik Ol & Vinstove, Bergen tap: Pours a brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity and sweet malty. Taste is lightly sweet and heavily fruity. Tis does have a nice body. Some earth. This is good, but it is one of the more forgettable beers from Nogne O.
3.6 Bottle, from a trade with Cunningham. Nice amber colored beer with a small beige head. Malty aroma, spicy, ginger, citrus, orange, chocolate, apples. Citrus flavor, roasted, grass, grapefruit notes, chocolate, some barnyard, orange peels, malty, some dark bread. A bit different but in a nice way.
3.2 nice sweet malty aroma,red/brown, off white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, light bitter long finish.
3.2 Poffed out of the bottle, almost half of the beer ended on the table and floor. And I didn’t shake it. Dark brown, hazy. Has an off-white head, medium duration. Nice aroma, malty, caramel, soy-sauce. Flavor is starting malty sweet, complex notes, nuts, caramel, real nice. Creamy texture and soft carbonation.
