3.5 Bottle 33cl a dark amber beer with medium head. Nose is intense on dark chocolate and roasted caramel. Taste is very sweet, aroma on malt, mocha, caramel, coffee, roasted malt. Finish is very sweet, creamy body, quite powerful beer.
3.9 Pours brown with white top. Nose is roasted malt and wet oak. Medium body with good carbondioxid. Taste is roasted malt, dark fudge, coffee, wood and a hint of sweet figs. Enjoyed in Bergen.
3.7 Donkerbruin bier met beperkte beige schuimkraag. Licht zoete een zachte aanzet met een klein bittertje in de afdronk
3.8 Bottle from Gedeelde Vreugde, Sint-Niklaas. Pours hazy brown with a slowly thinning, frothy, tan head. Aroma of prune, raisin, toffee, pistachio, mocha, milk chocolate. Taste has sweet toffee, cake, filled with dried dark fruits, sugary mocha, nutty & chocolatey backbone but restrained. Herbal-earthy hoppy finish, more toffee, warming hint of whisky. Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Inviting winter warmer with sufficient hoppiness.
4.0 From bottle (pkgd Oct'18) in tapered shaker. Pours murky brown w/1cm light tan head, aroma of choc & earthy hops. Rich and malty up front w/enough hops to tilt the finish toward bitter. Does work well w/cheese as suggested
4.1 Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm, licht bitter en zoet met iets van hazelnoot, chocolade, ietwat koffie en karamel. Een bier om van te genieten.
4.0 Draught @ The Thirsty Heart, Graz. Hazy brown colour, big head with good durability, fair lacing, soft carbonation. Nose is malty, caramel, nuts, milk chocolate. Flavour is light roasted malt, hazelnut, alcohol, chocolate. Sweet but well balanced with a solid bitterness. Very good!
3.5 Aroma: caramel, dried dark fruit, piney hop, alcohol Appearance: moderately hazy dark amber-brown color with a one-finger beige head. Taste: caramel, dried dark fruit, piny hop, medium-high sweetness, medium to medium-high bitterness Palate: medium-full body, medium-low carbonation, mild dryness in the finish, Overall: It tastes nice for a brown ale, but this kind is just not my style. Drinkability is medium-low.

4.1 Bottle from Great Grog. Hazy brown body with a cream head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of nuts, raisins, milk chocolate and coffee. Flavour of prunes and brown sugar with a boozy finish to remind you of the ABV. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Rich and full flavoured. Excellent.
3.7 Definite dark malt loaf aroma. Deep dark amber with little lacing. Taste is medium sweet with a long finish. Palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation smooth texture and a long finish. The bottle I had was nearing its best before but this was still smooth and easy

3.5 Fra flaske. Mørkebrun med højt lysebrunt skum. Aroma af malt, karamel, lidt metal. Medium sød og fyldig i munden. Smag af malt, nødder, karamel. Udmærket Brown Ale.
3.1 33 cl. bottle @ home, served in a teku glass. Due date: 21/09/20. Aroma: quite intense aromas of floral hops, toasted malts, sweet alcohol. Very light spicy, soapy and earthy overtones. Appearance: brown color with beige and very creamy foam made of small-sized bubbles. High to very high head thickness with very high retention and low Brussels' lacing. Too dark to talk about haziness. Taste: medium sweetness, low to medium bitterness, low sourness. Flavors are floral, toasted and roasted malts, caramel, brown sugar, molasses. Hints of toffee, dark dried fruits, burnt sugar, burnt caramel. Balance is towards the sweet side, but quite balanced overall. Palate: medium body, oily to creamy texture, medium carbonation, very long sweet finish with medium sweetness, low to medium bitterness and the same aforementioned flavors. Alcohol is slightly noticeable through its sweetness and quite noticeable due to its mouth and throat warming effect. Low astringency and low acidity from the black malts. Overall: very good appearance, intense but not very appealing aromas (too floral). Flavors are sweet and a little bit cloying. Maybe too floral flavors too. A little bit of gushing when opened. It would be better with less noticeable alcohol or less alcohol and less floral aromas and flavors. A little bit cloying but quite complex and with many layers of flavors. Interesting.

Bitter flavour of hops and roasted nuts, with notes of caramel malt and yeast and mild touches of nutmeg. Bitter and estery aftertaste with nutty notes. Creamy mouthfeel. Well-balanced and really anjoyable. A very good Brown Ale!
