Here at Nøgne Ø we’ve always had a secret crush on Anders Kissmeyer. Our first fling with Anders resulted in the Double Knot Brown. Our very first collaboration brew! Now we’ve hooked up again and this is the result. An imperial porter with lots of blackcurrant. And so the circle is completed. Enjoy with dessert. Or as dessert!

3.2 On tap at Cafe Sara. It poured a pitch black colour with a medium big offwhite head. Aroma is sweet. Lots of black currant, roasted malts. Alcohol is noticeable. Flavour is bitter and acidious. Lots of black currant, roasted malts, some sour coffee and citrus. It feels very oxidized. Too sour for me now.
3.6 Bottle, bought@Kihoskh, Cph. Pours deep opaque black with a medium, staying, creamy beige head. Aroma has lots of fruit, cherries, apples, plums, roasted malts. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of fruity tartness, black currants aplenty, roasted malts, a bit of chocolate. Lingering tart and dry finish. No sign of ABV.
3.6 Wow surprisingly fruity porter. The black currant are smoothly present in the aroma and intensely present in the taste. They take over the show and the roasted malts only offer a nice subtle counter balance. Interesting. I like it!
4.0 500 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with red hints and light head. Aromas of dark chocolate covered berries. Rich flavors of same with additional blueberry notes. Oily and a bit hot but certainly one of the best blackcurrent infused porters/stouts. Yummy.
3.6 Dezent säuerlicher Antrunk. Fruchtig malzig, Noten von Karamell. Die konstante Säuerlichkeit gefällt, vollmundig. Langer süß säuerlicher Malzabgang. 11/13/11/11/11/11
3.1 Tap @ basement beer bar, Aalborg. Aroma of blackcurrant, caramel, some roasted malt. Reddish brown murky colour with tan head, not lasting. Taste is moderate sour from the berries, moderate bitter, light sweet. Medium body, dry feel, avg. carb., sour bitter finish.
3.9 (Tap at Fairbar) Black body with a beige head. Sweet and spicy berry aroma and flavour. Rather sweet and bitter taste. Intense. Alcohol finish. Full body with average carbonation.
4.1 Bottle enjoyed at home Pours quite dark, black in glass, creamy tanned head. Smell of black currant, dark fruits, dark malts, toast, roast, coffee. Medium sweet, a rush of black currants, loads of it, subtile acids, blends well with the roast and toast. Then chocolate, coffee, well a pletora of rich dark flavors bllended with the fruityness. Moderate bitter. A big surprise this one!
3.7 Deep brown color, beige to light brown head. Fruity nose, berries with black currant notes, vinous, caramel, malty. Berries taste, sour notes, malty, well hidden alcohol, hint of coffee. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture.
3.4 50cl bottle at Sandar Haandverksbryggeri - Brygghuset, Sandefjord. Pours very dark mahogany with a close to minimal head. Fairly malty aroma with lots of blackcurrants, some roasty notes and hints of caramel. Fairly sweet with nice berry flavour and mild roasty notes, some acidity and a mild bitterness. Tasty and enjoyable.

4.1 Very exotic! Pours dark with thin and cloudy head. Palate is very complex. Sour, smokey, and spicy, with dark chocolate and caramel after taste. Well suiting name!
4.4 Bottled :) This is amazing. It is black with a small dark brown head. The aroma has cork, cherry and sourness and sugar. The taste is coffee, valine, plums, cream and sour candy. Nice!
3.9 Black liquid with tan head. Aroma black currant. light sweet, light bitter, mefium sour. Full body, oily feel, soft carb, long chocolate finish
4.0 50 cl bottle at home. Pours deep dark brown with a red hue. Small lingering head. Rather complex nose balancing liquorice, soft coffee notes and dark fruits and a tad of lactic sours. Oily texture, sweet sour body with a good dose of burnt balsamic vinegar and burnt caramel. Taste is burnt malt, sweet dark fruit jam, and a bit of smoke in the end. lovely complex beer, not your average one, which makes it really stand out. Not really an imperial porter, but a great beer whatsoever.
3.5 1/3 pint on tap @ Brewdog Helsinki. Pours very dark brown with a low head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with some cherries. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, cherries, some sour notes, liquorice and hops. A bit disappointing but still good. (Edit) OK, it’s blackcurrant.
3.9 Bottle at tasting. Aroma of berries, licorice and roast. Thick flavor of dry/sweet berries, chocolate, bitter fruit pit and a mild tartness. Creamy mouthfeel. Very nice, I don’t get the low ratings.
3.0 Bottle from bieresgourmet.be webshop. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a medium bubbly light beige head. Nose is licorice, black currants, coffee, dark chocolate and hints of caramel, herbs, toffee and alcohol. Taste is dark chocolate, black currants, cocoa, coffee and hints of caramel, tart berries, alcohol and dusty herbs. Full body, medium carbonation. A bit astringent in all its "berry-ness", but otherwise a pretty decent imperial porter. Guess I’m just not a big fan of black currant in general.
4.5 Pours an opaque black with a small brown lack and nice legs up the glass. Aroma of dark dried fruits, roasted malts and sweet chocolate. Taste is sweet black currants, sweet dark chocolate, cocoa and a nice refreshing tartness on the finish to make it dry and delicious. Love this beer,
3.6 Cola black beer with a small dark beige head. Quite sweet and oily aroma with lots of red berries like raspberry and lingonberry. Sweet liquorice too. Lots of red berries in the taste aswell. Quite crispy and even sour like cranberries. There’s also salty liquorice (salmiakki). Surprisingly thin bodied for this ABV. (actually I just realized this has a lot of black currant)
3.7 Bottle(@Fine Spirits & Beer, Bochum Poruří): Almost black, off-white foamy layer; robust vinous&woody&fruity nose, a bit tannic, too; solid and pretty dry bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied as expected; same flavours as in the aroma show up in the finish. Great…
3.5 Bottled. Pours near black with a small, lacing tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, coffee, chocolate, blackurrant and a hint of licorice. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and a little bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A nice Porter indeed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟.

4.1 Bottle @ Craig’s. Pours brown with a lighter brown head. Big blackcurrant nose, caramel and chocolate as well. Same thing going on with the taste but a nice wood dry finish. This is odd, slightly sweet, then slightly sour, its very nice, complex, loved it.
