3.5 Pours hazy amber. Aroma is citrus, with some sourness. Taste is citrus, slight sour, grapefruit.
3.4 Courtesy of Jaghana. Couleur orangée, très légère mousse Nez houblonné, résineux, un peu fruits jaunes. Gout houblonné très résineux, avec herbes et fruits jaunes. Bon corps. Fin amere résineuse, sapin.
3.7 Aroma 7. Appearance 4. Taste 7. Palate 4. Overall 15. Citrus and hops aroma. Bitter taste, not to sweet. A bit unexpected smoked aftertaste. A good one.
3.5 Bottle. Color hazy orange with small white head. Aroma citrus, spicy, fruits. Taste citrus, fruits, caramel, bread.
3.3 Bottle 33cl, a copper beer with huge head and good retention, nose is on ripped fruits and orange. Taste is medium bitter to high, medium sweet. Aroma has some resin notes, caramel, pine, orange, quince, marmalade, bitter fnish.
4.8 Honey & flowers. Fantastic colour and aroma, This is the best pale ale I have ever tasted. Would buy this at all occasions, if it were not for the rather stiff price....
3.5 Pours cloudy amber.Aroma fruity, hint of citrus. No real head. Taste bitter, wheaty and a little earthy. Not bad
3.6 Appearance- amber and slightly murky, bubbles rising, a one-finger off-white head which lasts. Aroma- sweet malt, citrus fruit, zesty lemon, orange, pineapple, fresh fruit. Taste- bitter hops, mango, pineapple hints, fruit juice, citrus, good malt backbone, bitter hop resin, creamy clingy mouthfeel.
3.4 Backlog. Fine head. Fruity aroma and taste of tropical fruits and citrus. Medium bitterness.
3.8 Aroma is dry, some mandarin too. Deep orange colour and chewy, creamy mouthfeel. Big flavour for an APA. I would be inclined to call this an IPA...but then, it has something of the Three Floyds Alpha King about it, which is a (seminal) APA. Characteristics: marked dry hoppiness, some pine and resin, chewy (orange) citrus.
3.8 Goudgeel, witte foamy schuimkraag, zeer troebel, veel gist...drijvende deeltjes, voldoende koolzuur. Zeer goed!
3.8 very cloudy yet intricate pale ale from norway. an excellent variation on the style and definitely one to try. nice to see stuff like this in shops around my area - gives me a little bit more faith in humanity! unsure if this will enter into my regular drinking rotation but i enjoyed it nonetheless. looking forward to finding more from nogne o.
3.8 Amber with medium white head. Very nice fruity aroma. Strong hops bitterness with sour citrus and slightly sweet malt notes. Lasting bitter aftertaste.
3.2 (bottle) hazy deep golden colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of pineapple juice and dusty pale malts, with a light touch of caramel, some prickly pear and canned peaches. flavour is mostly doughy malts and confetti sugar, with lots of canned fruit cocktail, some straw, more caramel, watermelon and a light-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
3.1 Bottle from m&s! Pale golden amber with a thick tan foam residing. Scent is medium notes of pale malt. Some light notes of caramel sweetness. Tiny bit of lemon. Taste is light notes of dry pale malt and medium light notes of honey comb. Slightly salty from dyness. Good. Surprisingly not much better than that.
3.0 330ml bottle from M&S, Watford. Hazy pale. Nice body, and good, hoppy aroma and flavour. Nicely balanced.
4.0 Bottle, Marks and Spencer. Deep orange colour colour with a slight pale frothy head. Nice citrus nose that follows into a really light citrus taste. Really like this one!
3.5 Pure white frothy head stayed well on a hazy, dark lemon coloured, finely carbonated, body. Citrus, lemon & yeast aroma - similar to a Saison. Medium to thin body. Tingly on the palate, dull & dry on the back. Fruity tastes of bitter/sweet citrus, spices, yeast, & a tangy finish.
3.7 Beautifully hoppy, both aroma and a bitter taste. Very smooth, slightly floral. Lovely to drink with a meal, especially grilled meat.
2.4 330 ml bottle @home. Best before 10/03/2018,brew date 10/03/2016. Aroma fruit and some yeast.Orange colour, hazy. Taste is mostly bitter, slightly fruity. Just no.
3.5 Bottle thanks to the wife. Hazy golden beer with medium head. Aroma of light tropical fruit and malts. Taste is grapefruit, tropical fruit, green grass and hops. Good.
2.8 330ml dark bottle, unfiltered. I can’t remember where I bought this. Yeasty nose and taste. I like that. It’s a little rough and wild. I like that. There’s flavour and character here. Really intriguing spicy aroma - hints of coriander suggestive of a quick hot fermentation. I like that as well because on the whole I don’t like the slow cool fermentation, as it doesn’t bring out the character of the yeast and malt in the way that heat does. This has the character I like. There’s hops here. Modern high alpha acid hops, which I like moderately, but not as much as most beer geeks, so that’s a slight downer for me. But the hops are not that excessive. They linger and burn a little, and if there had been a more moderate use of lower alpha acid hops, or more earthy English type hops, I would have liked this beer a lot more. So, there’s a lot here I really like. The brewing method is one that suits me. That the beer is still on the yeast suits me. But the hops are not my thing, and while not completely dominating, they intrude so much that they become more and more the centre of attention, taking away too much from the beauty of the malt and yeast. In the end it is the hops that decide it. And I doubt if this is a beer I will be returning to.
3.1 Bottle. Nose is very yeasty, pronounced mineral. Taste is mineral, yeast, cereal, citrus bite. It’s ok, I’m not convinced about the conditions of this bottle.
3.8 Hazy golden liquid with white cream. Fruity aroma, also yeasty. Taste is honey, hops, some tropical fruits. Light sweet, light to medium bitterness. Sweetness and bitterness are well balanced. Good beer, drinkable.
3.1 Slightly dull pale that’s drinkable in the way you’d expect. Boredom and bitterness, mid-strength mediocrity.
3.7 Murky golden amber colour with tall white foam. Aromas of hops with tropical fruit characteristics with fresh honey, pineapple and passion fruit notes. Palate, medium to full body with smooth texture leaving a nice bready aftertaste. Taste, sweet fairly malty but with hops present in the background making a nice balance. Has notes of rye bread, seeds and grains with grassy herbal bitter hops in the background. Overall, nice brew would have guessed it being rye ale with funky hops but it is a pale ale, still enjoyable.
3.2 Bottle, 330ml. A cloudy pale golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of fresh hops, soft citrus, a faint herbal note. Flavour has lots of hop bitterness, approaching an IPA. Some roasted malt in the background along with citrus and candy sweetness. Not a fan of hop bitterness.
3.0 2016 catch up - Bottle at home - It was a generic pale ale. It was nice and had a good kick of alcohol alongside hops and a smoothness, but not much else to set it out fromt he rest of the pack.
