Sweet Horizon is dessert for the ones with a sweet tooth. Black and velvety, with hints of sweet chocolate, fruit, coffee, licorice......... Hmmmm! But remember, this is dessert, so do not try to have dessert with it!

Dark and handsome.
4.3Bottled in 2008, so well aged. Has been in fridge most of the time since I got it. Alcohol and artificial pear/pistachio in the aroma on first smell, then coffee and something leathery-ish... Then bright, fruity. Notes of milk chocolate. Huh. Very sweet taste, with acidic notes. Very low carbonation. Flavor notes of raisin, coffee, licorice. Thick mouthfeel. Velvety smooth. Coates the mouth. The flavor keeps on giving, changing. Sometimes fruity, sometimes earthy/woody-ish. Roasty coffee-y finish. A whole lot going on here, and it’s hard to describe everything. Heavy stuff! Indeed a dessert in itself.
3.8250 ml bottle. #372. Bottled on 30/06/2008. From Alko some years ago.
Black colour with some red notes and no head.
Roasted malt, berries, alcohol and some coffee in the aroma.
The flavour is sugary sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol vinous elements and some liquorice. The coffee is very subdued. Alcohol warms a lot. A bit too sweet for me.
0.8Holy fuck, thanks to adnielsen for this drain pour. 8.5oz bottle. This beer has at least 5 cups of sugar in it. Undrinkable cloying sweet dumpster juice. Would rather drink my own urine than this.
3.5Bottle @ Home. Brewed 30.06.2008. Clear dark brown, no head or lacing. Nice coating. Has an oily look. Aroma, boozy, roasted notes, malty, chocolate, coffee, . Taste, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, sweet caramel, brown sugar, alcohol, molasses. Very low carbonation. Medium bitterness. Sticky.
3.8Bottle. Black with no head. More akin to a dessert wine than anything else. All the familiar stout trappings with some over the top fruity sweetness that should be cloying but works within the overall package. Awesome.
4.3Sweet and delicious. Something different and finally in a good way. Has imp stout notes but slightly amplified. heavy cloy sweetness on top of that and for some reason this works really well for me.
4.2Bottle brewed 30/06/2008, so it’s over 6 years old bottle. Black color, some brown bubbles. Aroma is sweet, licorice, some cognac notes. Sweet taste is mix of cognac and stout flavors, long sweet finish.
3.5Bottle. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of alcohol, coffee, kaluha and roasted malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with some caramel, coffee, brown sugar and lactose. Full body, soft carbonation.
3.7"black w/ little/no head. diabetes in a bottle, but they somehow pulled it off. coffee added, but you could barely tell in the aroma and couldn’t taste it because the beer was SO strong and so sweet. char, licorice, super sweet malts, alcohol, lots of dark fruit and roastiness. deifintely a sipper. split a 8.5? oz bottle. a pint would kill, so drinkability is low, but as advertised...a nice dessert beer. too expensive to go back for, though."
3.6.25 liter bottle, from JulienHuxley if I remember correctly. Pours a near black color with no head. Aroma of caramel, roast, vegetal and green notes, coffee. The taste is coffee, sweet malts, roasted malts, cherries, vanilla, booze, tootise rolls. Medium-full bodied, no carbonation, mildly hot. Pretty sweet but enough bitterness to balance.
3.8Dark brown pour with an off-white head. The aroma is full of chocolate and sugar. The flavor is similar, with a ton of sugary sweetness, chocolate, caramel and toffee. Medium carbonation and thick mouthfeel.
3.8Bottle...Pour is dark with a thin dark head..Nose is chocolate, sweetness, strawberry, roast..Taste is chocolate, sweetness, honey, sugar cube, chocolate pudding,
4.0Assaggio da bottiglia @ cantinetta.

4.0Black with fast disappering light brown head. Smells like overripe fruit, chocolate, cherries and a hint of coffee. Flavour is sweet, cherries, plums, raisins, chocolate and coffee. Nice full body with a balanced but sweet coffee finish.
3.3Pour is black with no head at all. No visible carbonation. Aroma is very sweet with notes of overripe fruit, coffee grounds, and brown sugar. Flavor is a sticky and sweet bomb - dark sugar syrup, cherry juice, fresh coffee. Slight alcohol in the finish, but its masked well.
3.7Backlog. Intensely sweet with dark cherries and dried fruits and a hint of chocolate. Although not really my cup of tea it’s just one of those beers that just sticks on your palate forever.
3.9Bottle. 14%. Best before 30.06.15. Pours black with a small, fast-disappearing light tan head. Slightly tart, sweetish dark fruit aroma, with a light berry note, a faint acetone note, remote cold coffee note, and a faint touch of chocolate. Flavour is sweet, almost sugary, with dark fruits. Same finish, with an alcohol burn and lingering vermouth-like and faint coffee notes. Caramel as it warms. Overall pretty good; the sweetness is pretty strong, but works nonetheless. 31.01.14.
3.5Bottle at home. Pours opaque black with no head. Aroma is roast malt, cooked dark fruits of plums, raisins, figs, and dates, light alcohol, and vinous notes. Flavor is sweet dark malt and fruits, lightly spicy alcohol, and a sweet finish. Full body and light carbonation.
3.9Bottle shared with Annie baby in November of ’10. Thit, this that vintage review yo. Bottle pours murky brown with small head and not much lacing remaining. Aromas and taste were chocolate cake, raspberry, anise, wood, sweet malt, candy sugar, and plum. Pretty thick and relatively sweet but nice. Tasty meh, try dis
4.0250ml bottle. Black colour with a small brown head. Notes of sweet and roasted malts, fruits (plums and raisins), chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Heavy sweetness and moderate bitterness in the flavour and a dry, bitter finish. Full-bodied with a oily texture and very soft carbonation. A bit too sweet for me, but nevertheless very good!
4.3meget kafitg gudt af sødme. chokolade og de brandet malte.
smagen er sød og fyldig
3.5Bottle thanks to the Norwegian contingent. Black pour with very little carbonation, not a shocker. Sweet, very sweet. Licorice, vanilla, cream, and caramel. Brown sugar, roasted malt, and a touch of ash. A touch of coffee. Flavors of fudge, vanilla, brown sugar, cream, and caramel. Some roasted malt, licorice, coffee, and a hint of smoke. Not surprisingly, some booze, too.
3.8Now, Finally it’s my turn to have a go at this.
Pour murky very dark brown, with no head at all.
Aroma is sugary sweet, molasses, vanilla, light burnt sugar slight dark fruits. This thing really does hide the booze well. (It almost feels like a port wine?)
The taste is crazily sweet... As it should be given the name.
Slight thick n’ oily, with a quite flat carb. Since I do have a sweet tooth, this was something I enjoyed...
3.2Bottle: picked this up a while back, pours dark black with zero head, aroma is boozy and sweet, taste is sweet and syrupy, chocoalte flavor and some licorice flavor which works with the boozy finish, definitely dessert, just too sweet for me to really enjoy
3.3Pours dark brown/black with no head...light sediment. Aroma has boozy roastiness...mild ash and bitter dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet!...raisins, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit that comes across almost like port...lots going on! Mouthfeel is medium and syrupy with a roasty dakr fruit/molasses finish that warms. This is way too sweet for me...definitely a dessert beer!!
3.8Pours murky dark brown unclear in color with a very small head that dissipates quickly. The aroma brings a bit of sweet vanilla and earthy wood. The flavor brings very pleasantly sweet roasted malts, the coffee is faded in the background from the forward sweetness. The body is creamy and nice as well.
4.35 years old when sampled. Black with a small diminishing brown head. Powerfull desert like aroma. Cocoa, toffee, coffee, vanilla and dark fruits like dates. Thick sticky palate. Again powerfull sweetness, but its complex and balanced by alchohol, so its not cloying. The complex sweet tastyness follows into the finish. Very good. Think the 5 years made it more balanced than a fresh one would be.
3.8Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate aroma with hints of dark fruit. Slightly sweetish roasted malty chocolate woody dark fruit flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and sweetish toffee finish with hints of dark fruit.
3.925 cl bottle @ home. Batch #372: bottled 30.06.2008, BBE 30.06.2015
Aroma is quite stale and odd with licorice, soy sauce, hints of cocoa and alcohol. Flavour is sweet with licorice, brown sugar, syrupy notes and hints of soy sauce. Nicely warming alcohol in the finish. Very oily palate. Better than I expected.
