Nøgne Ø Tiger Tripel

Nøgne Ø Tiger Tripel

21°P, 35 IBU.

Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water.
It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway!
Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless.
Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

3.5 From backlog. 0,5 litre Bottle from Tax Free Store Gardermoen AirPort. Brown with white head. Malts, hops, yeast and spices.
3.6 Cloudy brown colour, small white head. Yeasty aroma with some citrus. Taste is sweet with nice amount of malts, dry towards the finish. Medium body, low medium carbonation, smooth mouthfeel.
3.9 Aroma malt, appelsintoner, krydder, mørke frukter. Utseende uklar Orange brun med hvitt skum. Smak barleymalt, krydder, karamell, alkohol, mørke frukter, aprikos, appelsin. Kraftig øl med medium fylde. Flaske smakt November 2012, 50cl 9%
3.4 50cl Bottle @ Saveur-Biere, Lille, France. Hazy amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma is yeast, fruits, citrus. Taste is yeast, fruits, citrus, spices, malt, sweet, slightly tart. Medium body, average carbonation.
2.8 This tripel had promising aromas but I found the taste to have a reallybstrong oxydized fruit flavor. Was also almost smoky. Not really your traditional belgian style tripel, as advertised
Fortsatt litt rart for meg tbh. 7,4/10
3.5 0,5l bottle. Pours hazy orange with big frothy head. Sweet, sugary, orange, some spices and yeast. Tad bit too sweet for my preference, but good one none the less.
4.2 (Brewed 20.05.2015, batch #1428/1436A) Deep gold, with a small, white, lasting head. Nose: Nice yeasty notes, lots of dried yellow hay and modest but noticeable notes of peat (pure peat, no smoke), plus (what appears like bretty notes of) sweet recently beeswaxed leather. Taste: The arrival is slightly sweet and fruity. Here there is more of the peat, which is almost sweat and mixes with those beeswaxed leather notes. The mid palate is soft, fruity, with a hint of sweetness balanced by rounded hops bitterness. “Deep” taste. The exit is slightly drier, with a little hops bitterness rounding off the aforementioned elements. The aftertaste is quite long. Lovely, almost 3 year old, lightly peated trippel! Has benefited from bottle ageing (and my rating reflects this).
Bon corps. Fin amere sur le fruité levures.
3.2 Aroma 5. Appearance 4. Taste 6. Palate 6. Overall 13. Smoked and yeast aroma, peaty taste with long and sweet aftertaste.
3.8 Bottle. Color hazy orange with small white head. Aroma spicy, caramel, fruity. Taste yeast, fruits, spicy, caramel, alcohol.
3.3 Bottle 50cl, a clear golden beer with good head and retention, Nose is floral and Belgian yeast. Taste is bitter, medium sweet to high, aroma is on quince, belgian yeast, saison touch, yellow fruits, bit heavy.
3.4 50cl bottle from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy gold with limited white foam, very fine. Aroma is spiced, orange peel and fruity. Body is slightly dense with moderate carbonation. Taste is fairly high in sweetness, but balanced with its spiced feeling. Finish is relatively long and sweet.
3.5 Bottle 0.5L. Slightly hazy, deep golden to amber body with a small, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with some lacing. Moderate malty (caramel) and light yeasty aroma with note of fruits (peach, maybe) and spices. Moderate sweet and light-to-moderate bitter flavour with light sourness; long sweet and slightly acidic finish. Medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation.
3.6 Pours like a typical belgian tripel, amber with a white head. Subtle smoky and hoppy notes are mixed in a light malty aroma. The smokiness becomes more and more evident as the beer warms. Taste is quite sweet but rounded by a nice tart and bitter finish. Spicy too. Medium bodied and not very fizzy, very pleasant to sip. Alcohol very well hidden. Nice experiment, a complex beer definitely, but very well balanced.
3.6 Cloudy golden, opaque, white head with average retention. Aroma: bananas, black pepper, some smoky notes. Taste: sweet with spicy bitterness. Flavour: ripe apricotes, some sweet alcohol notes, spicy phenols. Boozy and spicy warming finish. This is definitely not a classical tripel, but a decent Belgian-style strong ale. Very good.
4.0 bottle. hazy apricot juice colour. moderate white head. aroma: fruit. citrus, tropics, minor spiciness. medium body. the taste is very fruity as well. unusual. good
3.4 Hazy golden/yellow liquid, small head. Aroma of clay, citrus. Medium body, average carbonation. Taste is sweet, bitter, a bit sour. Hints of pineapple.
3.8 I picked up this bottle from Amstein the last year. I decided to drink this one the last friday with my wife at home. In my point of view, it is an average tripel, more on the German style than the Belgian school. Best before was at november 2016, the color is a beautiful orange/yellow and troubled body, white foam, normal carbonation. The taste is not so far away of a weizen bock, sweet, malty, a bit bready, strong notes of apricot, I could say fruity, some hop but it is not so bitter, better during the last sips taking more aromas and you have some yeast.
3.2 500ml bottle. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma of malt with Belgian style yeast. Very sweet taste and finish.
3.6 Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of cheese (?), orange peel and hops. Taste of bitter cheese (?) and zest. Another great beer from Nøgne ø.
3.5 Pours a huge frothy off-white head that sticks around for awhile. Has a hazy golden appearance. Nice dirty lacing. Aromas of wheats and grains, light malts, slightly toasty. Flavours are quite strong. Has a sort of smokey like taste, burnt roasted malts. Some citrus hops, hints of pineapple and extremely light banana notes. Very bitter in the finish with mouthfeel and aftertaste. A little off putting with aftertaste. A bit of alcohol comes through, just enough and not offensive. Really good.
3.7 Bottled. 25cl sample. The aroma has some peat, juniper, citrus, cloves. Bit hazy, golden coloured beer with a medium, white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, spicy, bit smoked, citric. Nice refreshing and fairly dry.
3.6 50cl bottle at home. Clear golden with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice bitter and sweet tones. Smoke, tangerine, spices, caramel, citrus and some spices. Nice.
3.8 Appearance: Bright golden. hazy. Firm head of fluffy white bubbles. Nose: Sweet roasted malts. Caramel. Touches of wheat, spice and bananas. Taste: Sweeter and strongly boozy at first sip with elements of darker stone fruits, spice and banana esters Body: thinner and lively Parting thoughts: A fantastic Tripel. I’ve been on quite a tripel tear, recently. either they or I have had a renaissance
