Nørrebro Bombay Pale Ale

Nørrebro Bombay Pale Ale

English: Nørrebro Bryghus’s interpretation of the classic India Pale Ale. A powerful beer brewed exclusively from English Marris Otter malt which gives a deep and an intense malt character. Plenty of fruity ale aromas supplemented by bold notes of classic English aroma hops added after fermentation (dry hopping).

Big body, high bitterness and some sweetness characterize this golden 6.5 % ABV beer.

3.3 Keg at the brewhouse. Copper pour with thick white head. Plenty of malt character in the aroma: quite deep and fruity. Not much in terms of hops though, bit of herb and spice, some spruce and earthiness. Light caramel and red fruit prominent in the taste alongside some spicy earthy hop notes. Decent bitterness. Some odd vegetal character in there too. A very English style IPA - tasty enough, but not my cup of tea.
3.7 Bottle from Irma, Copenhagen, pours a amber gold with a decent head. Taste and Aroma strong notes of caramel malt, pine, grassy and juicy fruits. and floral hops. Interesting take on a IPA, liked it.
4.0 50 cl bottle. Originally rated on 20090617. Pours copper color with a small head. Aroma of fruits, hops, some caramel and grass. Flavor of hops, fruits, toffee notes, caramel and hay. Nice.
3.6 Bottle@ Schønnemann. Golden clear. Citrus malty notes. Dry strong bitter taste. Fine brew.
4.0 Overall: Good balance, not very hoppy but a solid brew. Note: On-tap at Nørrebro Bryghus. Reviewed 2012-12-01.
3.5 Postupně sem budu doplňopvat piva, co jsem vypil a zapsal si, chvilku to asi bude trvat a proto k těm dříve vypitým pivům nebudou žádné "dojmy" .
2.9 Even for a pale ale quite light in aroma and body. Not the best beer from this brewer. Could use a bit more of all the ingredients.
2.7 this pale ale had a bit of fruit in the aroma and taste. Easily drinkable but not my favourite from this brewer
3.5 600ml bottle. Small yellow head. Light copper colour. Delicious sweet and hoppy nose with some dried fruits and raisins. Bold hoppy taste, a little fruity and a decent bitterness finish. Interesting.
2.9 February 4, 2011. 600ml bottle shared by garthicus. Clear deep copper with a smallish lasting frothy beige head. Aroma is a touch vegetal - roast caramel malt with a hint of ... olive? ... vaguely herbal, not awesome. Taste is weird - herbal bitterness also trying to be fruity - tart and salty; persimmon? vague alcohol (6+). Average body, weak carbonation, fast-finishing - meh, ehh and ....? Also a weird aftertaste. Did not care for it.
3.6 Mango &hoppy, fruity aroma of mango, orange, malt, hop & straw. Hazy pale gold with white head, medium sweet, light bitter flavours. Light but fully rounded, slick oily texture, succulent a lasting pleasant finish in the background.
3.2 Bottle 400ml @ The Square, København Pours clear golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, grassy and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
3.4 400 ml bottle from the brewpub at Copenhagen. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white thick head. Aroma of sweet exotic fruits, caramel malts and floral hops. Flavour of caramel malts, sweet exotic fruits, floral hops and ripe fruits. Medium bodied, very soft carbonation and a fruity bitter finish. Overall a fruity IPA which lacks hops.
3.5 Bottlecas....It pours clear amber with medium head.....the aroma is grass, fruits, citrus and some caramel.... the flavor is hoppy, grass, herbs, grape... medium body.... nice flavored finish...
1.8 whoops. someone forgot to add the hops during the boil. this is supposed to be an ipa but this isn’t even a pale ale. maybe i got a bad batch but at $7.50 a bottle at the lcbo it wasn’t getting a second chance
3.3 Tastes are somewhat balanced out, some sweetness and bitterness to it. Not very hoppy in taste. Some citrus in the aroma. Nice white head. (40 cl bottle)
3.6 Bottle, says TAP 180810. Amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma: fruity, some grass and nuts, peach candy. Taste: sweet, toffee, fruity, candy, low bitterness. Medium-bodied, above medium carbonation. Tastes nice, but could have been fresher.
3.0 Not bad. (This beer rating was imported from FB and unfortunately lacks any further comments.)
3.3 600ml Bottle: Aroma of malt and slight caramel. Poured amber/orange in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of malt, pretzels, caramel, and a hint of hops. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, caramel, pretzel finish.
3.8 60 cl bottle. Rated on 30.8.2008 Aroma has fresh, exotic fruits but it is a bit thin for a IPA. Flavour has the same fruits, but also some toffee-like malt does occur. More APA or EPA than IPA. Refreshing!
3.5 Bottled shared at the brewpub Copper clear, thick white head. Smells of malts, citrus, zests and grass. Taste is full malted, good sweetness. Finish has good hop bitterness
3.5 Clear amber india pale ale with a light white head. Good Flowery hoppy beer.
3.3 Bottle at Ulla Winblad, Stockholm, Sweden. Aroma is quite rich with some caramel and a lot of tropical fruit. Pours a medium dark amber with a thick white foam. Taste is a little bitter and quite well balanced, but very very thin allover. More of everything and this beer would have been very pleasant but it feels a bit watered down. Mouthfeel is a bit thin as well, for an IPA this is not the oily thicker texture I am used to.
2.6 Pours amber with small white head. Smells strongly of caramel, sirop, exotic fruits and butter baked biscuits. The caramel-heavy sweet malt dominates the taste, the hops are mellow and has notes of grapefruit and peach. As an IPA its is rather low on bitterness. 5 or 6 years ago I found this beer challenging. Now I think it’s rather bland. Too sweet and malty for my taste.
3.2 0,4 l. bottle from the supermarket. Amber colour with a tiny white head. Aroma is sweet with some weak hoppy notes. Taste is light sweet malty with fruity notes. Ends with a mild bitterness, lively carbonation, medium length finish. A nice beer after a long summer day.
3.5 600ml bottle 6.5% ABV I tried this beer on May 13, 2011 at "Smokeless Joe" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a trancluscent gold colour with orange hues. and a thin off-white head. The aroma was pine, weak citrus, and grainy malts. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is slighty sweet, malty, with citrus and toffee. The finish is bitter.
3.6 very lively and pours a big head, that lasts some time. deep golden. nice hoppy nose, welballanced withgrass, citrus and some orange fruit. Fullbodied, with a fine length. some bitterness, but again welballanced. taste of grass, light citrus, orange. delicious welmade beer.
3.4 Bottle from the LCBO. Light copper with a medium snow white head. Mild aroma with a good balance of sweet and slightly toasted malt and fruity hops with hints of orange peel and grass. Flavour follows the aroma in every regard. A nice beer, but a bit mellow for an IPA, and not quite worth the premium price I had to pay for it.
3.4 Not very bitter for an IPA. But aroma and taste were full of sweet fruits. Quite good, though overpriced at the LCBO.
3.2 Copper body, white head. Aroma of malts, fruits, yoghurt and nice fruity hops. Flavour has some apricot and malts. Not much bitterness for IPA.
