First brewed to celebrate our 25th anniversary, the beer now known as PUCK, a petite saison of just over 4% ABV, won a place in our hearts and in our year-round portfolio of beers. Brewed with premium Pils and wheat malts and fermented with the same yeast strain used to make our renowned Saison, Le Merle, Puck is sharp and spritzy with a delicious flowery, spicy dry-hop aroma—the perfect accompaniment to any celebration, big or small.

3.2Bottle. Hazy pale yellow with small frothy white head, honey/vanilla aroma, high carbonation, initially sweet honey like taste followed by light bitterness, smooth body, abrupt finish. Quite fulfilling.
3.0Bottle pour into tulip glass from Smiley’s Discount Beverage. Apperance is hazy yellow with greenish tinge, nice sparkle, 2-finger width foamy white head with good retention and mild lacing. Aroma is mild fruity esters, wheat and champagne-like yeast. Taste is fruity esters mixed with some tart fruit, yeast. Palate is medium bodied with foamy texture, fizzy carbonation and mix of sweet, tart and yeasty finish. Overall, would have liked it a bit more ester-y and sweet. A bit too light and yeasty for me and the foamy/fizzy palate dominates the taste.
3.4Bottle into glass. Mild yeasty aroma and taste. Floral notes. Decent saison.
3.2Bottle from World Market. Highly carbonation with a touch of a spicy yeasty flavor to it. The description of this beer pretty much hits the nail on the head, as far as the characteristics go. It is what it is. Not overly exciting.
3.2Visual: Pours golden orange-yellow with no real lasting head, a thin hazy layer of retention, singular small bubble streams all around.
Nose: orange citrusy barley malt, notes of florals and honey. (lvl-3)-pungency
Attack: super crisp bite, thinner body entry
Mid-palate: (lvl-3-sweetness), mandarin orange, grainy lager malt, tingly-fizzy CO2,
Finish: light metallic pils malt, subtle bitter hops, mild wheat malt rough
Summary: Very nice execution of a 4% beer - good crisp drinkability with orangy malt flavour with just enough depth of body. A bit thin at the start but picks up in the mids and finishes with a gentle hop bitterness. Good quality but not exceptional.
3.1Just v pale in comparison to same brewery’s Le Merle (tried alongside this one). Hay, courgettes and mild tarragon on the nose. Similar in the mouth, with a light seawater tang; shallow even by saison standards.
3.6Rating #1751 - 2015.06.16 - On tap with @BeerThirstErica at @revolutionyeg. Session saison is a bit of a tongue twister, no? Pours a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head, not much lacing. Aroma is of farmhouse yeast, fresh herbs. Clean mouthfeel, medium carbonation, mild alcohol warmth. Taste is a crisp sweetness, tempered with herbal notes, mild sourness from the yeast. Decent
2.7Beer club, bottle. Pours gold with overflowing head. Floral, citrus and cloves. Ok beer.
3.6Bottle from Sprout’s: Appeared an off white slightly glowing yellow fluid that showed tons lots of sediment floating about. Created a monstrous sizing of foam head. Aroma had an initial scent of floral hops and a pinch of spiced yeast, however, there is a deep whiff of body odor or dirty gym laundry which I have experienced in a several beers before so nothing new. Flavor has traces of fruit with ripe and semi-tart pear flavors with spicing yeast. Finishes dry with an aftertaste of bubbly apple cider or pear cider for that matter. Does have traces of Belgian farmhouse but typical of any instant yeast pitch package could have provided so you know.
3.4North Coast knows some things about making a great Belgian beer. Puck is no less ambitious, if brewed to a smaller size. It’s pretty to look at. A pale yellow Lager-like color but a gorgeous bubbly body and a glistening, tightly-woven head.White wine and stone fruit aromas. Flavor profile is unusual. It’s a mix of starchy grains and musty fruit. Some applesauce sweetness and citrus. Think of a hybrid between Pils and a Sour. Feel is more Sour-like or perhaps even champagne-like. Highly carbonated and acidic. Puck provides for an odd yet distinct experience.
3.3Orange clear pour from 12oz bottle at Best Intentions. White head. Spicy and very lemon and fruity taste. Decent saison overall
2.8Clear yellow, mounds of white head. There’s a fluffy golf ball in the center of my glass. Smell of citrus, grass and pils malt. It’s got a grassy floral profile with some hop. More pilsener like with each sip.
3.3Everyone could use a good Puck now and then. Pour is deep gold with copious head and nice lacing. Aroma is wheat, lemon, a bit nutty. Very dry and bitter, somewhat tangy and spicy, thirst quencher. Kind of like a lighter version of Le Merle. Pretty good overall.
3.212 oz. bottle. Pours a thick gradually collapsing white head, with slight lacing, over a hazy dark yellow (SRM 4) body......nose is light citrus with lemon notes, light grass, slight spices, mild base malts.....taste is dry with light lemon, mild spice with ginger notes, light hop bitterness, with mild grass, with slight pepper on the finish.....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, high carbonation with mild acid. This is a quite light, refreshing mildly complex beer. It is a very light Saison. BJCP 7/2/13/4/6
3.4On draught at Winking Lizard. The beer is a clear pale golden color with a medium thin bone white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal yeast, citrus, hops and malt. The finish is fruity up front with a grassy yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.4Light and crisp. Some caramel malt with apple and citrus, a bit of spice. Smooth with a long finish.
3.6Pours a hazy yellowish/gold color. Aromas of tart fruit, bread, hint of citrus, and yeasty. Flavor is malty/citrus. Leaves a yeasty hay/citrus aftertaste
3.2Saison is a style of beer that i seldom drink anymore. Puck reminded that Saison makes a great session beer. Golden pour, fragrant and flavorful with dry malts.
3.3Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 12 oz bottle. Hazy, dark golden pour, fluffy snow-white head, decent lacing. Aroma is slightly biotic and earthy, hints of lemon and coriander. Flavor has some coriander notes, some citrusy lemon notes, some yeasty notes with a hint of raw cake mix. Mouthfeel has a spritz to it.
3.3On tap at Twisted Jimmy’s (5/5/15). Mild wheat aroma. Belgian yeasty esters, light floral hops and some jasmine. Medium golden clear with light haze, topped with thick white foamy lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts moderately dry with wheat flavor. Aromatic esters, jasmine, and other yeasty notes. Light carbonic tang with medium dry finish. Light astringent bitter after.
3.2Bottle. As a blonde ale, this scores not bad-- clean grains, light florals, dry finish. But as a saison, it’s definitely lacking some character.
2.9Bottle. Slightly musty yeast, pineapple, grainy malt, and coriander aroma. Clear gold with a large loose, quickly dissipating white head. Yeast, grainy malt, and light spicy/grassy flavor. Light, highly carbonated body... too much carbonation. Pleasant enough, but not very saison-ish.
3.2Like others have commented, tastes like a sessionable watered down Saison. Wish it was more complex.
1.2not for me this one got it from ales by mail beer club don’t think i would have it again father in law liked it though
3.8Clear light gold, small white head. Aroma and flavor both Initially grassy and some skunky bud, giving way to biscuit and caramel. Floral. Light and crisp. Mild bitter. A bit of tanginess. Moderate pepperiness. Fair dryness. I like it
3.3Bottle from London Drinker BF 2016 and drunk at home. Gold slight haze lasting white head. Cereal aroma. Some saison yeast, but quite light. Better in mouth with some good esters, some peach as well as hop on the finish. It’s quite a light saison. More a golden ale/saison crossover. It’s fine. Flavours work and it’s well integrated with some decent hop. Just not as good as the authentic stuff from Beglium.
2.7Bottle at Haymarket, Chicago.
Clear golden with a white head. Fairly mild with malt, light funk, some hops and hints of spices. The body was on the light side as was the bitterness. Drinkable but a bit boring to be honest.
3.1Bottle in hotel room Orlando 2016... Golden amber.. Big white head.. Soft salty fruits nose .. Sherbert zezty lime.. Long zezty fruits. Light salty finish.. Light tartness
3.3Aroma is sulphur, clove, straw and citrus. Taste is light sweet malts with honey and caramel dissapating to light tartiness and that is about it. Overall it is smooth and sessionable but a bit too simple for my likings. Appearance is a clear gold with a medium head that retains quite well.
3.7Bottle from Bethesda Food & Beverage. Golden orange body with medium foamy head. Nose is hoppy, spicy, floral. Taste is fruits, oranges, and hops and spices. Nice dry finish with citrus bursts.
