The devil made us do it. From the ABV and IBU figures to the fiendish use of Cascade, Perle and Willamette hops, Lucifer was whispering in our ears the entire time. Citrus and pine scents greet you and are followed by the sharp bitterness expected of an IPA. The beer’s true wickedness is revealed in the smooth Pale, Crystal 30 and wheat malts that surreptitiously broaden the beer’s appeal to more than just hopheads.

2.8Bottle at home.... Copper.. Thin off white head... Soft sweet caramel toffee fruit nose... Soft sweet caramel toffee fruit
3.412 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and some caramel. Taste is citrus and a mild sweetnesss
4.0From bottle into pint glass. Clear amber medium sized head reduced to small covering of off white head. Stone fruit, grass, lemon hop nose. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet, medium body. Long pine finish, some caramel. Really a nice ipa, better than I remember.
3.112 oz fat bottle at home. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, bready, hay, earthy, some citrus, dry, moderate bitterness, not one I would revisit with so many other choices.
3.2Appearance: Somewhat hazy bright amber. Thin ring of white bubbles.
Nose: stronger citrus hops. Lighter presence of medium roasted malt cereal and touch of caramel
Taste: Strong citrus hops. Grapefruit. Decent roasted cereal presence. Touch of sweetness
Body: Medium to thinner
Parting thoughts: Quite a nice little IPA
3.012 oz. shorty bottle served in shaker- poured a 20% hazy solid copper/brown color, white ring about the vessel for a head, spotty lacing upon it as it quickly went into my tummy. Aroma of light pine and citrus. Hits the mouth with a light-medium body, malt is awash in caramel (whew!), middle has a fine hop crescent, finish is lightly acidic and has quite an amount of resin. Decent, it’ll work.
3.4Little head and lacing. Caramel straw color. Citrus aroma. Sits lightly on the tongue. Hoppy finish. Solid IPA
3.5Bottle from GBBF 2016 and drunk at home. Clear brown amber colour lasting dark cream head. Lovely grapefruit pink grapefruit hop aroma. Quite malty in the mouth. Some dry brown malt flavour. Some more hop on the finish. The aroma is good then perhaps it’s just a little too malty. Quite sweet as well. Good though and well made.
2.8Bottle at Shnoodlepip after GBBF 2016, Tuesday. Clear golden beer with a small offwhite head. Hoppy citrus aroma, grapes, hay, floral. Malty caramel aroma, bready, citrus, hay, some floral notes. Feels old, not the standard i expect from bottles bought at GBBF.
3.1Sampled from bottle @ ChrisO’s after GBBF Day 1. Clear orange color, medium sizded white head. Aroma is old stale hops, malts. Taste malts, hops, old hops, bitter, malt bitter. Appears old and not nearly in its best shape at all. Decent body and medium carbonation. Too bad this is old and oxidised.
3.6Bottle. First beer from this brewery. Solid, maybe fairly average IPA. Smooth but not particularly unique. Good ipa
4.5Diabolical is a good IPA. It has a bit of an excess in bitter aftertaste, but it makes up for this with some citrusy sweet entrance to the mouth. The pine and citrus aroma with the golden pour, it’s a really good IPA.
3.112 fl.oz bottle. Pours clear amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of resinous hops, apricot. Taste of sweet apricot, bitter resinous hops, a bit old.
3.3Tap @ Hughie?s. Burnt orange pour with a finger of tan foam and nice lacing. Softly bitter, grassy and a touch floral. Does not taste at all diabolical.
3.0Moderately bitter on the tongue. Dark orange pour with quick white foam. The grassy slightly dominates the citrusy hops. The malts are a little more complex, sweet at the end but a little bit of bread at the start.
3.1clear amber color; piney hops and caramel malt in the aroma; flavor is much the same; piney hops with medium bodied, bready, caramel malt; well balanced; I’d prefer a bit more in the hops, but I’m a hop head
3.0This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy white colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a semi-transparent orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The nice aroma was hoppy. The sharp crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a bitter hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of bitter crisp hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.
3.2Rated on 4-04-2016 (Bottled on 10/12/15) The appearance is a medium sized ivory head that mostly diminished, transparent amber body, slow rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is light citrus and pine khops, orange hops, light lemon, and caramel. The flavor presents light bitterness, citrus hops, lightly fruity, and quite malty. The mouthfeel is creamy and light carbonation. This is a medium bodied IPA. An easy drinking IPA with an average taste to it.
3.4Bottle. Pours dark gold with a light, off-white, shallow head. Nose is grapefruit, camphor, rosemary, sage, and lavender -- very well balanced. Bitter on the front of the tongue, with a nicely countered orange-toffee malt; there’s a saline or savory edge that adds a third element to the overall taste. I can’t say it enough; balanced, balanced, balanced. It’s a little understated, but very harmonious. The finish is, however, a little short. Quite nice.
3.4Clear copper pour with an off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is grass, pine, toffee, and citrus. Taste is pithy citrus, pine, toffee, and toast. Lasting bitterness. Medium body.
4.4Great IPA. Tasted this side by side with 7 other MI IPA’s and it ranked at the top with 2 others. Nice long-lasting head,copper-gold color and piney aroma. Nice resiny hop flavor balancing a malty background. Solid.
2.9Bottled 10/28/15. Pours golden color, big slightly beige head. Aroma is caramel malt, citrus hops, but it feels old. It IS about 3 months old, and I’m pretty sure it was a malty IPA to begin with, but it’s particularly malty now. Decently hoppy finish. Would def. be better fresher.
3.5Bottle. Color was an orange to copper color with an off white head. Aroma of orange, citrus, and some pine and caramel. More malty in the flavor. Piney and orange in the flavor. Good stuff
3.3Bottle at home while visiting Jacksonville. pours an orange gold with a white head. Light veggie dank aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Sweet with a light metallic edge alongside pine and orange and some toasty stuff. Not great.
3.4Acobreada com espuma persistente. Otimo aroma, citrico e pinus, mas nao evidente ao paladar. Retrogosto persistente, um pouco terroso.
3.0copper color with a long lasting medium head. The aroma is ok but the taste is less than desirable. The taste is off-balanced. A little bit more malty would be nice.
3.812 oz. bottle from Jungle Jim’s International Market, Fairfield, OH. Dark orange pour with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of tangerine, mango, and wet grass. Taste offers citrus and piney hop bitterness with an assertive malt backbone. Mild lingering bitterness on the palate. Highly quaffable.
5.0Great Aroma, Pine and Citrus. Well Balanced. Big Hops. Overall Excellent!
3.1Esperava mais dessa IPA. Ela tenta mostrar um certo amargor, porém não convence. Mas valeu a distração.
3.8Rollicking, frothy, bone-colored head on a slightly foggy bronze brew. Stumpy bottle. Marginally soapy, casting central AIPA aroma. Good. Threatens to go sweet, but I thought it had an understated richness and good style balance. Bitter, interesting, malty. I didn’t get big esters or resin. A bare-knuckled brew, in a semi-UK rendition. Wish I bought a six instead of just one. ABC Liquors, Betton.
