En vällagrad barleywine med inslag av frukt, karamell, fikon och stor maltighet.

Bötet Barley Wine har fått sitt namn från den udde som Järflöttaboarna använde för att ro mellan ön och fastlandet. Barley Wine är er stark engelsk öltyp som uppkom under 1700-1800 tal. Tre olika sorters karamellmalt ger ölet en stor maltighet och den 7 månaders långa tanklagringen ger en fin balans. Som alla våra öl är den opasteuriserad -och bryggd med omsorg ochk kärlek.

Note: Unaged, nameless version pre-released in september 2007. Officially released as Bötet Barley Wine in september 2008.

3.7 APPEARANCE: clear amber with a medium head. AROMA: moderate malty, caramel, syrup, dried fruits, alcohol, hoppy pine and fruits. TASTE: moderate sweet, moderate bitterness. PALATE: medium bodied, low to medium carbonation.

3.7 Pours rather clear amber. Small white head. Smell is bit sweet. Taste is very full, all grain, sweetness, bit booze, some earthy leaves, caramel, full, ambermalts very malty even. Slightly metallic. Very nicely done

3.6 Clear warm red fox brown colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, light red fruits. Bitter flavour, malts, caramel. Finish burned sugar. (from draught @ Chez Moeder, St. Gilles)

4.3 Draft glass @ CML Original. Clear dark amber, collapsing tanned head. Nose is low pleasant oxidation, very sweet thick malts & sugar with complimentary cough syrup & herbal sweetness. taste is very sweet cooked apple, sugar, candy, cough syrup, vanilla, sugar, almond, herbal sweet with some complimentary cough syrup. Cough syrup body, Very neat.

3.9 Tap. Moeder Lambic Original. Chalkboard states 2014. Reddy, copper colour. Soft haze. Swirly, dense, lasting, cream coloured head. Nose has toasty, buttery malts. Dried vine fruit. Dried fig. Fruity toffee. Some caramel brittle. Taste is sweet and figgy. Lots of chew. Some vinous bitterness comes through. Medium body. Soft fizz. Pretty easy drinking for the ABV. Sticky sweet finish, with a nicely balanced, vinous close. Nice one.

3.6 Amber color. Sweet aromas, fruit, caramel, figs some grass hops. Sweet malt taste, caramel, dried fruits, yeast. Some slight hop bitterness present during the finish.

3.3 A bottle of 2009 edition. Poured a dark, chestnut brown color with virtually no real head, just a small off-white ring. Quite complex aroma of chocolate, roasty notes, some mild woody feel and biscuity malt - focus is mostly of milk chocolate with slight burn. Taste starts sweet, mildly chocolate with some roastiness. Bittery finish with slight alcohol burn. Creamy and slick, but medium full body. Not a bad one. Pretty nice.

3.9 A pretty solid barleywine, my bottle was a 2014. A bit sweeter than what I was hoping for or desired at the moment though my wife truly loved this. Very excited to try the barrel aged version relieved via trade with hackobock!

3.1 Bottle, 25 cl, Ardbeg Embassy, Stockholm. Anno 2012. Decent barley wine, malty and sweet.

3.1 25cl systembolaget. En bra bärs men jag hade större förhoppningar. Det är något sam fattas.

3.8 Bottle Clear red brown Aroma of caramel butter Taste sweet, fizzy, round grains, raisins. Nice texture.

4.3 250ml bottle, vintage 2014 from Systembolaget. Clear deep amber, tanned medium size head, rik lacing. Sweet vinous aroma, Madeira, prunes, raisins, figs and caramel. Silky, rounded mouthfeel, mildly carbonated. Fruity sweet taste, dried fruit, prunes, raisins, ripe strawberries, leather, caramel and toffee. Very good with several shades of flavors, balanced sweetness and well hidden alcohol.

3.5 Bouteille 25cl, merci Pierre T. BB 01/2019, Anno 2013. Léger cuivré, col épais crémeux blanc-cassé. Arôme au bouquet prenant et marqué herbacé, rétro malt caramel, sucre résiduel, fruité rappelant le raisin sec. Palais est malté, pâle caramel, fin chocolaté, et un herbacé perdurant sur toute la dégustation. Fini sec sur un fruité de raisin, fine amertume houblonnée. Amertume perce ne fin de bouche apportant une pointe citronnée.

3.3 Brun /röd klar utan något skum. Doftar nästan inget. Karamellmalt och ganska blaskig smak. Lite russin och lite beska. Inte lika bra som tidigare år?

4.1 Aroma is sweet malty caramels, red berries, figs and prunes. Taste is really sweet and alcohol drenched figs and dades but also with quite a fair amount of resin and a slight wet wood sensation. Aftertaste is sweet toffee with alcohol. I love this one, even if it’s maybe a tad too sweet.

3.9 Trevlig rödbrun färg. Torkad frukt och smågodis i smaken. Lagom smaker att snutta på, inget sticker ut för mycket utan bara trevlig.

4.2 Pours in a red mahogny color with a very thin line of white head that disappears super fast. Aroma; brown sugar, caramel, dried fruits, some malt, resin and notes of oak rum barrel in the background. Flavours; sweet caramel, brown sugar, dried fruits, resin, malt and you feel flavour of the oak barrel through out all of three taste palettes. Semi complex and a straight up very nice BW beer.

3.5 On tap @EurHop (Rome). Pours amber with a medium and persistent off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, resin, oak. Flavour is medium to high sweet with a decent bitter end. High body, light carbonation. Ok.

4.5 Testade 2014 mot 2009. 2014 vacker rödbrun färg, 2009 lite mörkare i tonen. 2014 har en fräsch fruktig doft, mer och mer citrus, främst pomerans ju varmare den blir. 2009 har mycket torkad frukt i doften, främst dadlar och fikon. 2014 har en fräsch fruktighet i smaken som bara blir tydligare ju mer man jämför med 2009 som är söt och rund med massor av torkad frukt. Spännande att de nu kan uppfattas som helt olika öl, var och en suverän på sitt sätt. 2014 känns inte alls blek och trist jämfört med den vällagrade 2009:an, utan dess unga särdrag, den friska fruktigheten, är mycket läcker i sig. Men är man mer på det söta humöret så är 2009:an den man ska ta.

3.8 25cl bottle from trade with VsXsV! (2011 version) Pours hazy dark red brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma of strong malt, wood, red fruits, alcohol. Taste of strong malt, wood, vanilla, red fruits, alcohol, good stuff!

4.2 This is a really good barley wine, will probably keep a few bottles for christmas evening. Malty with caramel and dried fruits in aroma, some hops but not much. Follows through in taste, lots of caramel, coffee, chocolate and browned sugar, even the fruit is there. The hops comes in second just as in the aroma.

3.8 Pours copper colored liquid with a very thin off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and some hops. Taste reflects the aroma, really nice barley wine. Good carbonation. It will taste even better in a few years!

3.8 250 ml bottle. 2012 vintage. Pours a dark red mahogany with light head. Big malty aromas, with brown sugar and caramel. Flavors are same, big, malty and smooth with still a bit of rough bitter hops. Nice.

3.4 Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm. Vintage 2012. Pours hazy copper with thin off-white head. Aroma of vanilla, oak, cocos, raisins, nuts. Taste sweet with some fruitiness and a slightly bitter finish.

3.7 250 ml bottle from systembolaget. 2012 edition. Pours amber with nice big white yellow head. Fruity aroma with some nutty caramell notes. Toffee, fruity and caramell taste with short body and short aftertaste.

3.3 Pours copper color, tan head, some lacing. Aroma of porto wine, rape fruits, caramel, some alcohol. Taste is semi-sweet, fruity, again porto wine notes, alcohol is sensible. Porto and dried friuts on finish, some alcohol bitterness. Expected more.

3.4 Flaska från SB. Årgång 2013. Rödbrun vätska med ett mindre vitt skum. Lätt rökighet och mycket torkad frukt i doften Fikonsötma i smaken, lite honung tycker jag också. Väldigt fyllig men lite spritig i eftersmaken.

4.1 Köpt på Man in the moon, Stockholm. Flaska från 2008. Mycket fikon, russin och dadlar i både doft och smak. Något tunn kropp.

3.7 (Nynäshamns Bötet Barley Wine) Bottle 250 ml as an extra from hackobock, thanks Jakob! Served into a snifter, ABV 9.1% Deep copper colour on the body, clear, with obe finger of thick, off-white head sitting on top. Very good retention, medium lacing. Aroma is slightly alcoholic, sweet with red and dark fruits. Taste is also sweet, with red fruits, light caramel and toffee, marmalade. Medium body, carbonation on good levels. Nice, I’d like it a bit more complex but it drinks good.

3.2 Bärnstensfärgad vätska med medelstor ljusbrun krona som lämnar vissa rester. Doften är tung och maltig med lätt rökiga toner. Smaken är syrlig med påtaglig vätska. Lätt stickig i smaken och inte helt balanserad. Fin efterbeska. En lätt obalanserad brygd som inte riktigt når hela vägen.
