3.6 Fawn head, clear brown body. Aroma with fruity malts, fresh hops, berry juices. Taste; mild roasted malts, leafy hops, caramel, mild forest touch - leading to a malty and slightly roasted finish. Good on palate. Well balanced, tasty and superb to barbeque dishes. [T@Akkurat Stockholm]
3.3 Bottle, Churchill Arms, Uppsala. Decent, a bit too gentle: aroma could be more complex, taste could be more intense.
3.8 Cask @ Bishops Arms, Hornsgatan. Clear mahogany with a slightly tanned lacing head. Deep aroma of malt and nuts, toffee and red apple. Very smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Fudge and biscuits taste with sweet chocolate, apple, nuts and mild resin och dark honey.
3.4 sample from draft at goteborg sweden, deep ruby amber colour with a tanned head. notes of sweet caramel, red fruits, caramel malts, nuts, molasses, and sticky syrup. slight bitter finish.
3.2 Cask at the Bishops Arms Gustav Adolf Tors Malmo, RBESG ’15 day 2, 21/08/15. Chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is toffee, dark fruits, light hops, nutty. Taste comprises malt, toffee, biscuit, dates, mellow fruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. Ok brown, mellow and innofensive.
2.4 Bottle at home. Probably something wrong with my bottle, the beer is basically still, zero head and zero carbonation despite a vigorous pour. Smells and tastes okay-ish for this style, though a bit too hoppy. A bit of an "old hop tea" vibe. Not a problem per se, it’s just that I wanted something more traditional/malty/caramelly.
3.1 Tap at Akkurat. Caramel, nuts, roasted malts, some bread. Slightly bitter and sweet. Faint bitter finish.
3.1 Cask during RBESG2015, Day 2, Malmö, Sweden - dark reddish brown pour with beige head. Toasty and roasted malty aroma and taste, medium sweet with some caramel, toffee, light cocoa, nuts, medium bitter in the finish.
3.3 Cask at Bishops Arms. Clear, red-brown with a thin, off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel, nuts and toasted malts. Taste is lightly bitter. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity. Nice.
3.3 Bottle from Systembolaget Web Shop. Clear copper with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, light nutty and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. 180715
4.1 Served on-tap with an extraordinary domed head. It settles very slowly, leaving chunky ring lace after each sip. The liquid is dark amber (or light brown) and is crystal clear. Hoppy first, but then I note some crystal malt with a bit of sweetness and nuttiness. This is a hoppy brown ale. It starts off with a nice, almost chocolately, darker malt flavor. There’s a touch of brewer’s yeast in the background. The bittering hop pops out in the swallow but it fades in the aftertaste, leaving a biscuity finish. Rich body, particulary for the style.
3.4 Bottle. Lovely brown red, nice white head. Aroma of bread syrup. Medium sweet, mild bitterness. Neutral and Balanced.
3.7 Draught at The Rover, Gothenburg. Kida murky shit with an offwhite head. Malty sweetish hoppy aroma. Malty hoppy flavour with some metallic notes. A nice one :-)
3.2 Lättdrucken och relativt enkel brun Ale, god men ingen smaksensation. Doft och smak av malt, sötma, karamell, frukt. På gränsen till att vara blaskig men den är bra, hade gärna önskat mer tyngd och beska.
3.2 Draught at the Oluthuone, Tampere, Finland. Hazy brown colour with a tiny off-white ring. Sweet malt, hops, mild bitterness and bread in the aroma. The flavour is sweetish malt, some sugary notes and mild hops. Too easy.
3.3 Standard brown ale that’s easy to drink but not watery. Can drink a few bottles of this.
2.8 Tap @ Gastropub Nordic. Pours dark red-brown color with a small head. Quite fruity and hoppy on the nose, faint caramel and resin also. Bitter palate, not what I was expecting, some vegetables also, nothing too disturbing though, mild malty notes. This might not be in its best shape. 3323
3.6 Bottle bought at local Restaurant. Brown. Aroma and taste of caramel, malts and some hops.
3.2 Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Sweet malty aroma, red fruits, caramel, raisins. Sweet malty flavour, caramel. Light bitter finish, raisins, caramel and dark malts. (From 50cL bottle @ home)
3.4 Süßlicher, leicht herber Antrunk mit angenehm Malznoten. Die Süße nimmt ab. Rundes gutes, sehr süffiges Bier, zum Ende vielleicht etwas trocken. 11/9/10/11//11
3.6 Nutty toast aroma. Good malt bitter and balance although more bitter than malty, lots of roastiness.
3.4 500 ml bottle. Amber color with off white head. Aroma of bread, toast, light roasted and slight vinous malt notes. Taste is medium sweet, bready, low bitterness and some smoke notes. Nice
3.0 Amber reddish brown beer with big blonde creamy head leaving lacing. Aroma has wood, bread, nuts, toffee and herbs. Flavor is bready malty, toffee sweet woody and a bit metallic when cold. Palate is thin and slick. Finishes with medium bitterness and aftertaste of maltiness. Quite basic Brown Ale, not too sweet, nothing special.
3.5 500ml bottle. Hazy brown body with a large tan head, that leaves lacing. Malty, with some caramel, earthyness & a hint of alcohol.
3.3 Draught at Ølhus Stockholm. Dark brown color, beige head. Bitter taste with citrus, nuts, ripe fruits, hops and roasted malts. Bitter finish with nuts, roasted malts and citrus. Good brown ale.
3.6 Backlog. Tried on tap at the brewery during a tour with Systembolaget. Always love myself a brown ale, this is a decent addition.
3.8 (backlog)Cask pour. Brown pour with creamy tan head. Sweet malts, fruit, roasted tones in flavor and aroma. Very solid and tasty brown ale.
