3.3 Bottle. Clear deep mahogany, small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, burnt cookies, sweet caramel notes, hoppy floral notes. Impressive. Taste is medium sweet with caramel notes, malt, hoppy bitterness that lingers on becoming almost burnt and dry in the finish. Light to medium body, medium carbo, sharp bubbles.
2.8 Tappning 2014.
3.4 500 ml bottle from systembolaget. Pours copper with red notes. Nutty aroma with caramel, malt and nutty taste. Sweet bitter after taste.
3.7 Poured from bottle, dark copper with medium off white head. Aroma is complex with notes of hard bread, dried fruit, butterscotch and herbs. Taste is a nice balance between sweetness and bitterness with all the aromas enhanced. Best easter beer 2016!
3.1 Karamell, malt, sötma, nötter, bröd, mild, trevlig beska. Lättdrucken påsköl som tyvärrr lite tråkig men helt klart ok!
3.4 500ml bottle. Clear slightly redish tinted brown with small brown head. Aroma is caramel, butterscotch and toffee. Taste is the same with the addition of dried fruits, a little orange and a very light but refreshing touch of citrus. Medium mouthfeel, low carbonation and sweet malty aftertaste.
2.9 On bottle from Systembolaget Strømstad. Brown color, good foam.Medium/light aroma intensity; malt, dried fruits and light honey in the finish. Medium body & complexity. Good bitterness and balance. Pretty good beer
3.3 Bottled. Pours amber with a small light brown head. Smells nutty caramel malt. Tastes nutty, a bit sweet bread malty with a mild bitter finish.
2.8 TAP @pikkulintu. Pours mahogany color with brownish white lacing head. Notes of caramel, toffee, nuts, sour bread. - beerbasher
3.4 Bottle from SB 150408. Pours a beautiful coppery redbrown colour with a nice beige head. Very malty nose. Distinctly sweet first taste with hints of licorrhize. Then malty, bread, caramelle and a pleasant mild bitterness. Quite nice.
3.5 A fresh and rich malty beer with a pleasant bitterness. Works really great with food.
2.4 Flaska från SB. Klar kopparröd färg, svagt skum. Doftar karamellsött och lite bärigt. Trist karamellsmak, tunn. Händer inte mycket.
3.0 Flaska systembolaget. Kopparfärgad vätska. Sötmaltig doft med viss fruktighet. Brödig, nötig och maltig smak. Söt och med tillbakadragen beska. Lätt kolsyrad
3.0 Pours clear, dark copper with a one finger, beige head. Nose: Caramel malt, fudge, nuts, dried fruit, and red berries. Taste: Strong malty backbone, a little bitterness, plum, red apple, spice and caramel. Body: Medium body. Mild carbonatiion. Dry aftertaste. Not bad at all! Great at this easter table :)
3.0 500ml bottle. Clear dark amber, slightly tanned, small head. Malty aroma. Malty, mild taste. Smooth, small and balanced flavors that does not pull away in any direction, short and dry aftertaste. A very relaxed and mellow beer rather than a kock-out-sensation. A Weekend starter, if you start early!
4.0 Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours deep red-copper with a fluffy full beige head, that settles to a nice lasting impressive layer. It’s a looker, the intense red color crowned with a nice foam head like that! The aroma spicy and fruit cakey, reminscent of Fullers London Pride. The taste comes with more pepper and spice, backed up with sweetness and bitterness. There’s a lovely balance of everything in this beer. Short aftertaste and medium mouthfeel. It’s simply a very well made beer this, I just wonder why they call it a Strong Mild instead of a Brown Ale. A strong mild is a contradiction in terms, has the term Brown Ale lost its’ charm?
3.4 50cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours clear copper coloured with a beige head. Malty and caramelly aroma with hints of fruits, roast, some spices and citrus. Medium sweet with nice malty flavours and a quite decent bitterness. Pleasant stuff!
3.1 Reddish brown with full head. Malt aroma. Also malty taste, some licorice. Some bitterness at the end, light body.
3.1 Creamy, off-white head to a clear copper coloured body. Herbal hops and earthy malts to the nose. Flavoured with caramel malts, dusty hops and mid-sweet berries. Dry malty ending. Medium bodied and well balanced, Mild carbonated. Pretty nice (500ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye, Tromsø 07.05.2014).
3.0 Vanilla 2-finger head, clear copper body, small dots. Aroma; fruity brown malts, floral. Taste; floral hops, herbal hops, malts, earty stuff, fläder?, berries. Ok body, modest fizz, ok balance. Finishes malty, with berries, nice. (Brown Bottle 50cl 5.8% B@Systembolaget Kalix.se shared with Rune @LateEasterRating)
3.2 I brittisk stil. Lite fruktig, karamell, kola, men framför allt törstsläckande. Vattnet har en tydlig roll här.
2.9 0,5l bottle from Systembolaget, Haparanda. Pours clear brown with a low head. Aroma is malts and nuts. Flavor is malts, nuts and fruits with a slightly hoppy finish. Decent.
2.4 @ Havregatan.
3.0 500ml brown 2014 years vintage bottle, pours clear dark mahogany with a medium sized frothy tan head that reduced quickly, leaving some lacing. Aroma of caramel, syrup loaf and nuts. Flavours of caramel, toffee, roasted malts, syrup loaf, nuts and spices. Taste is medium sweet and light-medium bitter. Palate is light-medium bodied, oily texture and average carbonation. Pleasant flavours but a little too sweet, and the lack of bitterness makes it dull, but that’s typical of the style.
2.9 Backlog. Bottle from Systembolaget when it was available. Not their finest.
3.4 500 ml bottle sampled in 2007. Mahogany body with a medium sized beige head. Pleasant aroma of mild roasted malt, some smoke and malt. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and red berries. Medium body and average strength aftertaste. Quite nice and balanced.
