This pale ale is generously hopped yet balanced through the use of Munich and Crystal malts. Hops added after fermentation gives this American classic an intense aromatic bouquet. Enjoy!

3.2Bottle. Light amber with thin head. Aroma of citrus hops with a hint of pine. Light body, moderate citrus hop bitterness, and a very light malt backbone. A thinner body than I was expecting, but decent.
3.2On Tap @Señor Lupulo, Gijon 30/09/17
Color ambarino espuma blanca aromas caramelo y toffe, sabor caramelo con notas cítricas.
3.2Nice malty aroma with almost rotten fruit notes. The taste is jammy-malty with a pure bitterness. The hops may have lost their initial power.

Draft at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Clear amber with an off white head. Aroma of light malt, fruity and earthy notes. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter with an increasingly bitter finish. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation
2.8Draft @ Beer Temple, 5 oz sample. Hazy golden color. Big white head. Aroma’s: very faint, not much at all actually. Retronasal there is a bit - light fruit, light earthy and bitter. Flavor is moderate bitter, but faint, also light sweetness. Light bodied. Finishes with light bitterness. Not sure whether this wasn’t fresh anymore or just meh.
3.4Tap@Dispensary Bar, Copenhagen - Amber pour with white head. Sweet and slightly toasted malty and fruity, some citrus fruity hits, some caramel, kind of twiggy herbal hoppy, dry bitter finish.

3.312 oz bottle on 30th Sep 2016: The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Dull dark orange bodied brew with a thin head and collar. Piney and resiny hops rule both the nose and taste. My delicate English palate could just about manage the hops, I personally would have prefered a little more sweetness in the brew, but I did enjoy the experience of drinking this.
3.512 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, drunk 5 minutes out of the fridge from a Fitger’s pint glass. As usual with this brewery, lovely to look at - a big stable creamy head that looks like odd-colored whipped cream, topping a bright, hazy, yeasty amber body...aromas fairly typical: cirtrus (orange, lime) and piney hops, light toasted malt hints...body is moderately sweet, lightly spicy - touches of things like cinnamon and ginger - and growing in bitterness towards a dry, woody finish...body is very full, more yeasty than typical with a pale ale, carbonation a bit on the low side. While this is not after one try one of my favorites from this brewery, I’m a bit surprised at the very low average rating, though it does seem like more recent ratings have been a bit higher than earlier ones; perhaps the recipe or bottling or something else has improved over time. At any rate for me another indicator of the quality of this brewery, and if I don’t end up buying this again anytime soon it’s more due to the insane numbers of better pale ales available these days around me.
3.1330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy amber, good white head. Aroma presents leafy pine hop with a citric nod. Taste is fruitier, but slick and rather tame with an unfortunately low bitterness. Sweet malt base takes president. Despite the criticisms it’s a nice sipper.
2.6Bottle pour - slightly hazy orange pour with a frothy beige head that recedes slowly. Aroma is grassy and piney hops - splash of citrus, but that isn’t dominant - decent level of maltiness. Not bad, though trends more sweet than bitter oddly enough. Flavor is very odd - sweet up front, then an odd mix of sweet and bitter before a bitter ending. Somewhat vegetative...catch some ’tea’ notes in here...and maybe something like sweet peas? Definitely some piney hops, but some other odd flavors as well... Just not digging this. Heavily carbonated, but slightly thin. The percentile isn’t far off on my opinion of this one - meh...though I almost wonder if this is something of a QC issue, as some ratings are much higher, and there is just something ’off’ here
3.3355ml bottle (Punavuoren Ahven, Helsinki)
Super fruity aroma - citrussy and piney. Rich orange, tight head. Very fizzy palate, needed loads of swirling to make it drinkable. Then it was malty and fruity. Very drinkable and refreshing, crisp even. Very nice fresh hoppy beer, shame it was so fizzy.
3.212 oz bottle. At the Konttori, Tampere, Finland.
Clear amber color with a small to midsize bubbly off-white head.
Candy and fruity hops, mild bitterness, sweetness, butterscotch and some maltiness in the aroma.
The flavor is tea, dry resiny hops, mild bitterness, mild buttery notes and malt. Decent pale ale. Not a typical American brew.

3.10,3l on tap @ Vihreä Haltiatar. Pours clear golden with a huge head (something wrong with the keg). Aroma is malts with tropical fruits and some piney notes. Flavor is fruity malts with some pine and hops. A bit watery, but decent.
