3.4 Svart med ljusbrunt skum. Doftar mörk choklad, lite kaffe, aningen syrlighet. Smaken är riktigt mörk choklad utan sötma, kaffebeska, lite kaffesyrlighet, kaffebeska. Lite tunn men annars en bra torr porter. De Klomp 2015-10-03
3.5 Svart och lätt. Bra balanserad fin porter. Trevliga smak på portervis, inget som sticker ut negativt men inget heller överraskande
3.3 Bottle at brewery tasting. Very good porter, although I prefer imperial ones. This one is easy to drink and enjoy.
3.5 Courtesey of Kraddel. Sampled 500 ml. bottle @ De Rampkrot. Blacish dark brown, little bubbles. Nose is cacao, umami, stale chocolate cereal, oxidized,…. Taste is thin, bitter chocolate cereal, touch metallic, herbal, thin coffee & chocolate,… Thinned out body. I don’t see any date but this does feel too old. Okay still.
3.5 Pours clear but extremely dark brown. No real head. Smell is sweet , some chocolate, typical porter maltyness. Taste is malts, sharp and metallic. Some chocolate. Sweet, some mild coffee tones. OK ...
3.2 Bottle. Pour dark with light brown small dissapearing head. Chocolate roasted malt and some Coffe. Dark Coffe some chocolate. Dry medium body
3.6 On tap at the Rover, Göteborg. Black with tanned head. Smell is roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is roasted with chocolate and coffee. Dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation.
3.5 Bottle courtesy of Colin (Theydonbois) cheers Colin! consumed at home Tuesday 30th December 2014 Pours deep dark brown showing a slight ruby hue, mid sized beige head atop, looks good. Served a tad cold a first (totally my fault). A little thin weak coffee comes through. Roastiness across tongue and roof of mouth, but quite restrained. Some light chocolate also picked up. Its good, subtle and quite tasty. A6 A5 T7 P4 Ov13 3.5
3.3 Bottle (trade w/nisse666). Dark brown, black. Soft leathery, coffee roasty tones, green herbals. Med bodied, quite soft smooth filling still. Somewhat milky roastedness, roasted coffee beans. Clean, ok. -- bb
3.2 Flaska. Luktar choklad, kära, surt, alkohol. Svart. Smakar choklad, metall, beskt, alkohol. Banan. Tunn
3.3 Bottle from Cunningham, thanks! Chocolate, caramel, light roast, mineral-earthy notes and a whiff of hops. In this ordr of appearance. Pleasant, though nothiong special. It gets more interesting in the taste, where an initial, soft wave of ground cocoa finishes light roasted/tart, which is balanced by notes of chocolate liqeur as the beer warms. Very nice, sessionable brew.
3.1 Close to black body with hints of red. Creamy, long-lived, light-brown head that reduces to a thin layer. Strong, dry, heavy malty and burnt aroma of ash and tobacco. Also faint fruits, black currant, chocolate, coffee and leather. Strong, burnt and ashy flavour profile with accompanying tobacco. Some sweet fruits, black currant and coffee in the back. Light-bodied and dry with a moderate carbonation. A decent porter, but maybe a bit ashy and burnt for the style? [50 cl bottle, from Systembolaget Gårda, Göteborg, Sweden]
Ok porter men ingen højdare.
3.0 Keg at the Bishops Arms, Park Avenue, Goteborg 21/03/14. Black with a good sized tan covering. Nose is roast malt, biscuit, cardboard, earthy cocoa. Taste comprises light roast, touch of cocoa, papery tones, dark fruit ring. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Pretty so so porter, lacks depth.
3.4 On tap (Real Ale) at Green Lion Inn. Dominated by coffee and dark chocolate with some dried fruits.
3.5 Bottle. Aroma lightly fruity, otherwise roasted malts. Light wheat. Clear dark brown colour. Taste is mostly fruity, with only light roastiness, taking over mostly in the finish. Not exactly enchanting, but OK beer. A bit too thin bodied.
3.5 Bottle from Nisse666, many thanks. Almost black color with medium beige head. Roasted malt, prunes, licorice in aroma. Taste, roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate. Coffeebitter finish. Good.
3.8 Bottle, kindly shared by Cuso. Pours dark brown, nearly black color, beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, banana, chocolate. Taste is smoked, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee.
3.4 Tap at the Bishops Arms, Park Avenue, Gotham City (as my mother called it... Bless). Poured a deep mahogany with a thin light tan head. The aroma is light roasted malt, sweet caramel. The flavour is medium bitter with a watery hop bitter liqourice light smoke palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Served cool which probably suited the beer as I don’t think there was too much more there in the background if it had been served warmer. Nice enough tho.
3.4 Bottle, thnx to rlgk! Cheers! Pours a blackish beer with a small, beige ring of head on top. Aroma has some coffee, toffee and vanilla present. Flavor is medium sweet, full bodied for the low abv and as a long, light sticky aftertaste. Sweetness suits the beer very well and it’s quite enjoyable. Missing some slight complexity maybe, but is still very full flavored. Easy drinkable and a great session porter. Nice one.
3.4 Bottle from Systembolaget. Ar: roasty, coffee, ash, undefined fruitiness. Ap: black colour, medium beige head, lacing. T: medium bite, dry, salty, ashy, coffee. P: medium/light body, soft carbonation. T: ok.
3.5 Pitch black, opaque colour woth a small beige head. Smells coffee, roasty, some dark chocolate. Taste of coffee and dark chocolate with some roasted notes. A little bit thin though.
4.0 Aroma: The smell is initially intensely roasted coffee beans, then dark toast and some sweet dried fruits. Appearance: The beer is black, with a thick tan head leaving good lacing. Taste: Tasting of burned dark bread, smoked sausage, the dried figs and a dash of cold coffee. Palate: Medium carbonation, small bubbles, soft and rich body, smooth and oily, a nice dry finish. Overall: This was a really nice well balanced porter, with coffee installed. Note: On-tap at De Klomp. Reviewed 2011-07-14.
3.8 Bottle from systembolaget. Nice chocolate roasty aroma with hints of vanilla. The aroma however suffer from some , but pretty small metallic notes. The taste is rich in roastiness with both chocolate and coffee accompanied with vanilla. The beer has a nice bitterness which lingers in the finish. The finish however is more dominated by coffee. The beer has a nice thick texture and the carbonation is nice but most palate points is awarded for its nice finish.
3.1 Brown, black with just a little head thad dissapears with no lacing. Nose: Rosted malt, brown sugar, dark syrup, banana, coffee, licorice, toffee and vanilla. Taste: Sweet vanilla, roasted malt, brown sugar, caramel, coffee, dried fruit and dark bread. A little light body for a porter. Medium carbonation. Nice!
4.5 What a flavor! The scent is heavenly. The taste is also wonderful and very taste of black and chocolate malt. The aftertaste is left long time. I really enjoy this beer. Nice that it is not so strong. Only 5% ABV. A lot of flavor in this porter. Worth a try. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.5 Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours black with a large frothy tan head. Aroma has roasted malt with coffee, licorice and burnt malt. Taste is sweet with a light bitterness, burnt malt and tobacco notes coming through in the end. Light carbonation.
3.8 Pitch black color with large brown head. The aromas is of chocolate, sweet vanilla, toffee and coffee. The flavors are full of roasted malt, burnt sugar and caramel. And a dry bitter finish.
3.1 [5/6/13] Bottle at my hostel room in Copenhagen. Thanks Nisse666. Dark brown with a beige head. Roasty aroma with a bit of coffee, licorice and notes of dark fruits. Roasty flavor, dry-ish, with light sweetness and a finish with a bit of bitterness and coffee notes. Medium-bodied.
2.4 500mL bottle, courtesy of Nisse666 (thanks Tomas), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of light roast, light coffee notes, and a little bready malts. Flavour is very soft, with notes of light toasted malts, a cold cup of coffee, and dry roast. Pretty bland and soft on the palate -- very dry as well. Boring porter, but decently well-made.
