2.3 cask@Bishops Arms Gustov Adolfs, Malmo - amber pour with white head. Aroma and taste caramel malty, light toffee, faint hoppy, condition seemed pretty bad/old on the palate, not great, will try a re-rate in time.
2.9 Medium amber body with a light tan head that leaves a good amount of foam on my glass. Strong and far too sweet aroma with distinct notes of butter, but there are also nice notes of caramel, sweet fruits and overripe strawberries. Moderate aroma of sweet fruits, caramel, cereal, red berries in the back and buttery hints. Moderate to light sweet with a moderate plus bitter finish of decent length. Medium to light body, dry texture and soft carbonation. Almost decent, but too much butter, to little bitterness and to much sweetness. [50 cl bottle, enjoyed 1 month before BB date, form Systembolaget Gårda, Göteborg]
2.8 500 ml bottle. Clear dark golden with small head. Not too much smell. Taste is balanced, medium bitter and dry. Ordinary english style ipa.
2.9 Too creamy smell and taste. It's an IPA but not my stile. Kind of bitterness in the aftertaste but again definitely not my type.
3.2 Keg at the Bishops Arms, Park Avenue, Goteborg 21/03/14. Clear golden amber with a good sized white head. Nose carries a trace of caramel, fiant hops, malt tones, bitter citric peel. Taste comprises earthy hops notes, bitter orange, grass, caramel malt, light bread notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok, drinkable enough but a little boring and lacking hops, lower end of the IPA spectrum.
3.4 Tap at the Bishops Arms, Park Avenue, Gothenburg. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is weak hop light malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth hop bitter light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A nice hoppy and very drinkable session IPA.
3.2 (backlog) Draft. Orange pour with white head. Light spice and mild bitterness and some balancing malt aromas. Earth and spice hop flavors, doesn’t really stick out.
3.8 Had this a number of times, cask, tap and bottled. It’s a solid and good english-style IPA i think it’s underrated.
2.5 A classic English IPA with a lot of bitterness in the taste and smell. Not much of the fruity hop flavor either. A slight metallic taste is also in the aftertaste. The aftertaste remains a weak moment in the mouth’s upper part. No beer for me. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
2.9 Let’s be honnest, this is just an easy pale ale that pretends to be an IPA. In itself, it is a good enough beer, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, ok?
3.0 Bottle. Amber color, clear, light head. Mild hoppiness for an IPA, more a European style with plenty of maltiness. Overall pretty good, but not my preference of style.
4.0 Overall: Sweet, smooth, soothing, but with a bite. Real Ale. Note: Cask at De Klomp. Reviewed 2013-09-13.
3.3 500ml bottle. Cloudy amber body with a beige head. Notes of citrus, tropical fruits, grass, wet paper. Pretty shy for an IPA, but quite ok.
2.9 Clear amber color with small white head. The nose is alright, aromas is of grass, paper and wood. The flavors are thin and watery, plenty of malty flavors and some nice fruity ones. And a bitter finish. This beer is all about bitterness, in a bad way..
3.3 Dark reddish orange to copper coloured clear beer with some beige head. Not much aromas at all, faint piny hops if any. Flavor reminds me of an amber ale in the sweetness and licorice. Also lots of piny bitter hops. Medium body, medium finish.
3.3 50cl bottle at Lompa friluft. Pours clear deep amber with an off-amber. Malty and lightly hoppy aroma with caramel, citrus and hints of fruits. Medium sweet and malty with a citrusy and bitter. Quite well balanced. Okay, bit slightly boring IPA.
3.4 500 ml bottle, at Lompa Friluft, Oslo. ABV is 5.4%. Orange to amber colour, moderate white head. Average IPA aroma and flavour of piney American (and English too, apparently) hops. Sharp and very bitter aftertaste.
3.1 25th May 2013 On tap at the Bull & Bear, Stockholm. Clear amber beer, tidy cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry. Fine carbonation. Sweetish dry malt with mild caramel and a notable unsweet bubblegum ester. Hops are fairly light and somewhat noble like in their taste. Finishes semi dry with a malty aftertaste. Okay but tastes like an ESB.
3.1 Little head, light Brown light nose with some foran notes with a light steely caramel. ’Medium body and length soft light dry caramel
3.3 Obefintlig skumkrona, lite kolsyra, liten beska, ganska bred i smaken: citrus dominerar tidigt. Hygglig eftersmak. Re-rate 140214. Mer av APA än IPA, men fortfarande helt OK. Lång bitter eftersmak.
2.7 Ar: jam, marmalade, herbs, very earthy, very British in a bad way, some smokey notes and very malty. Ap: amber colour very small off-white head, no lacing. F: medium bitterness, very soft for the style, bready, malty, lightly roasted, jam, marmalade, not very full bodied. Some metallic notes and herbs. P: thin body, medium carbonation. T: this was not for me, but if you want an IPA That is an english rendition turned up to a 100 this is for you.
Balans. Ocean känns stabila. Lite engelsk i stilen
3.9 500 ml bottle. Aroma flowery and citrusy with caramel notes, not too sweet with lots of butterscotch. Taste is pretty dry, hop profil low, lots of caramel flavors. Good balance, nice impression generally.
2.3 [2013-03-15] Relativt ljus, inget skumm. Sämsta IPA:an so far.
2.6 0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a blurry golden-honey colored one with a medium sized off-white top. Not to IPA-ish on the nose. Kinda sugar sweet? It’s really hard to describe how this smells. Almost minerally in a way. It’s most definitely not like any other IPA, I’ve nosed before. It’s lively to average on the carbonation, kinda fizzy on the mouthfeel. Fruity flavors, not to much bitterness here, but it has some. Wet cardboard-ish tones and some melon traces. Kinda hard to rate this as an IPA, cause it does not taste like an IPA. Light dry mouth in the finish. No bad flavors, but a strange beer. 05.01.2012
