Odell 90 Shilling

Odell 90 Shilling

90 Shilling is our smooth and complex flagship beer. A medium-bodied amber ale with a distinct burnished copper color and a deeply pleasant aroma. The name 90 Shilling comes from the Scottish method of taxing beer. Only the highest quality beers were taxed 90 Shillings. We think you’ll find this original ale brilliantly refreshing, and worth every Shilling.

3.6 Cans from Cloudwater online shop and House Of Trembling Madness. Clear amber body with an off-white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, caramel and fresh rain on concrete. Flavour of wood, berries and earth. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A sweet, subtle, earthy beer.
3.7 Really clean smooth beer. Super mild in all respects but the body is velvety and bold. Stranded pilgrim denver
3.5 Red amber normal in most ways. Clean and malt driven pleasant color and flavor.
4.1 Coppery color. Off-white head with good retention. Malty aroma with a nutty caramel note. The taste is dry and has a slight bitterness to it.
3.4 One pint draft at Mesa Verde, Denver airport. Pours a dark amber with a thin white head and lots of lacing. Smells of raisin bread. Dry fizzy mouthfeel with a short ashy finish. None of the sweetness of the nose. Nice scotch ale.
2.6 Not bad
3.3 Can bought at GBBF. Sweet gluey almonds and malts with a hint of citrus. Dark amber. Fluffy translucent off-white head. Sweet and sour caramelised citrus with a malty core. Light bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. It's a sweet sour edged bitter. Wouldn't want to session it.
3.8 Draft at the Odell Brewing RiNo Brewhouse in Denver, CO. Clear medium amber color with an off-white head and very good retention. Good caramel flavor without any chemical finish like so many amber ales have. Very clean and smooth and easy drinking.
3.2 On tap at Mali Medo, Tkalča, Zagreb after Fakin Craft Fest. Clear deep amber, small to medium firm creamy off-white head. Aroma is malty, toasty, bready. Texture is smooth and soft. Malty flavours, toasted bread, hops nicely supporting with earthy and herbal notes. Not very rich, but drinkable and appealing. Moderate to high carbonation. Dry toasty finish.
3.3 12 oz bottle Variety Pack (Binny's Naperville) 38° in English Pint. Pours dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and roasted malt. Taste of the same with some toffee as well. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty as I am not usually a fan of this style.
3.6 Bottle at Denver airport, deep amber-brown with a lacing head, a touch of estery cocoa on the nose, strong and toasty, lightly burnt malt, drying alcohol, earthy bitterness lingering in the finish.
2.9 Oct 2018 - American pint at Max's Wine Dive, Denver. Meeting Teresa's friends for the first time. As 'Odell 90 Shilling'. Too fizzy, creating some sodawater vibes. Dusty dry with some light burnt toffee and metallic notes. Not that enjoyable. Quite thin. Just about OK - the sort of beer that really shouldn't be served from keg. (5-4-5-3-12=2.9)
3.6 Orange/copper pour. Beige head. Very much by the caramel malts. Not sweet but bland candy like. This is very good but the hops are not overly strong but prevalent any way. i like this very much. Pours a coppery color with a creamy tan head. Taste is a smooth balance of caramel with just enough hops, not overly sweet or overly bitter.
3.3 Can, Fargo, ND via Happy Harry's. Copper color. Metallic caramel aroma. Mild, somewhat sweet, medium finish.
3.4 Pours a coppery color with a creamy tan head. Malty aroma. Taste is a smooth balance of caramel malt with a floral and spicy hop finish. A little bit of citrus bitterness.
3.6 On tap at the Denver International Airport. Pours copper with a clinging beige head and a malty aroma. There is a hearty roasted malt flavor with a bit of fruit and a dry moderately bitter finish.

3.1 Served on tap at Tennyson Tap. Clear amber color with a white head. Malt grain aroma. Malt up front with a grain finish. Light body.
3.5 12 ounce bottle pour clear orange brown copper slight head caramel nose. Delicious amber.
3.4 toast, red, frothy, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, full body, thick feel, lively, Really enjoyed this, smokey flavor. Beautiful appearance. Full body. would drink again and again.
3.3 12 oz can pours a clear amber color with tight off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is not full, but features toffee and floral hops. Taste starts out on the sweet side, then bitter, with some smokiness in the finish. Body is medium without too much carbonation. Easily drinkable and satisfying. Nothing bad at all about this one, but nothing exceptional to come back to, either.
3.2 mild aromas of toffee and citrus with a hint of floral. it has a clear orange amber appearance and a dusty light foam for head. it's malty sweet with a touch of floral bitter. the taste is simple and similar to the aroma. finishes smooth and clean
2.8 Bottle at home, all alone. Malty aroma. The flavor is toasty, nutty, and a bit of smoke. Smooth palate, crisp finish. Pretty meh.
4.6 It’s really good, great taste. My go to beer for BBQing and relaxing . Can’t always find it in the bottle because it sells out
3.3 Draft. Clear tan brew with small head. Nice aroma - caramel, light roast, nutty. Taste is moderate malty, nutty with spice. Modest spicey hops at the end. Enjoyable.
3.4 Copper amber with an off white head. Sweet malt with light toasted malt. Full bodied. A bit of heat in the finish. Solid.
3.8 Draft in a plastic cup at the Phish show at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Pours amber orange with an off white head. Clean and malty, with low bitterness, faint residual sweetness, and crisp toffee notes. Honestly way better than I was anticipating, and really the perfect craft beer for a big concert setting like this--it's clean and super drinkable, but you still feel like you're drinking an actual beer. The setting is probably dictating the rating here, but this one deserves it in this situation.
3.1 Bottle, from US. Backlog entry. Entering my historic scores for US beers whilst visiting New York. No tasting notes kept, just rating.
