3.9Bottle at a tasting at Shapiro brewery. Thanks Ory. Hazy reddish amber. Funky, cherries and lactic aromas. Sour-cherries, acetone, acidic, lemon, apples. Light-bodied, dry, fizzy.
3.9From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear pale reddish mahogany with a quickly disappearing off white head. Aroma is of rasppberries, cherries and dank wood. Flavors are sour red fruitswith a lingering tart finish.
3.4Pours copper in color with a pinkish head. Tart aroma. Light tart-ish flavor with subtle cherry notes over a sweet underbody.
Notes: old note
4.1Aroma is raspberries/cherries and wood/mild funk. The flavor is raspberries/cherries, malts, mild wood and a sweet/medium tart finish.
4.0Bottle, 2017 vintage. Sweet raspberry aroma with notes of sour cherry, yogurt and oak. Pours reddish-amber colored with a thin, non-retentive white head that also has no lacing. Starts with sweet raspberry flavors as well as some yogurt notes and a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry, but quite smooth with tart cherry flavors and a little bit of oak. Excellent sour!
3.6Bottle sample at DSG's 15K at troubles'. Thanks Tom L. Cloudy reddish-peach. Honey and apricot, some cherry and almonds in the nose, cherry, marzipan and some cinnamon in the mouth. Full body, lively fizz, long, cherry and sour finish, mild acidity.
3.8Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks Tom L. Orange-red. Cherries, oak, cherry pits, some wine, a bit of berries, acidic. Really good.
3.6At DSGs 15K, pours red hazy with a small head, aroma of wax, wood, cherry, toffee, flavor of wax, wood, cherry, cherry stones, acidity, medium bodied, nice
3.7On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and sampler served showing a clear, copper/amber color, a presentable layer of soft white froth that reduced to a persistent ring, with foamy spots of lacing. The nose was a bit of yeasty funk, sweet cherry & berry, a touch of caramel, and some oaky tannins. Ditto on the flavor, medium bodied, with fair spritz to the effervescence, sweetness, and a pleasant tart & tangy nature. Recently shared a 2017,12 oz. bottle, and noticed a hint of barrel induced vanilla, and some dryness to the finish.
3.9Overall great sour, standard profile with slightly bitter pungent after taste
4.6Nice sour that has some very pronounced cherry tones. Fantastic aroma and very mild aftertaste.
3.8Bottle from tavour. Pours reddish in color with not much head. Nice cherry aroma. Taste is oak and cherry with a slight tart
3.2on tap pinkish red pour minimal head tart cherry aroma and flavor ok for the style
4.0slightly pale red with a small amount of quickly dissipating white foam. It smells like berries (cherry, raspberry), slight butter, oak. The flavor is the same, nice and tart but not overly sweet, a bit of spicy woodiness. Crisp carbonation with slightly slick, medium mouthfeel. It finishes with an almost tannic bitter bite. Delicious.
3.35th November 2016
High Wycombe House Warming. Thanks to Paul. Hazy peach tinted amber beer, a few lonely pink bubbles. Palate is light, semi dry ahd mildly crisp. Light tart raspberry eases in to mild floralness. A whisper of yoghurt, but well buried. Light finish. Quite tasty.
4.0Pours ruby read with a tiny head. Lots of raspberries. Nice and sour just the way I like it.
4.1Bottle from Rehills of Jesmond. Pours a sloghtly murky pinkish amber with a rim of off white bubbles. Musty sour aroma with sweet fruity raspberry overtones. The taste has tart raspberry and cherry with farmy hay notes, old books, sherbet, balsamic vinegar and a dry finish. Complex and good.
3.9November 2016 - Bottle share at Theydon’s High Wycombe Tasting. Thanks Paulie! As ’Odell Friek’. Hazy pinky orange with a foamy pale pink head. Aroma is mostly raspberry and lemon - not screaming cherry. Body is light with tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is again raspberry, tannic and lightly acidic, cherry, a light red wine like merlot. Pretty good stuff. (3.9)
3.6This is a really good cherry sour because its so well balanced. Its sweet, malty, and sour but not of those flavor characteristics are overpowering in this beer. Its just well made.
3.3Pours a stop-sign red, with a pink head that dissipates quickly to just a ring around the edge of the glass. Definite vinegar aroma. Slight metallic and raspberry palate with loads of vinegar. Could be good, but too much vinegar.
3.9HB thanks to Leighton from a bottle thanks to Scopey, chugged at the Heron Quay Hobo tasting Nov-2016. Thanks bros! It pours a clean amber color with minimal head. Aroma is fruity and acidic with nice tart cherries and mixed red berries flavor profile, lemon notes, tart Greek yoghurt, lactic acid. Taste is also acidic but mellowed by the tart red berries notes. Medium bodied with ok carbonation. Overall, very nice
3.5Bottle at The High WyCum tasting, Chez Bois, thanks to Bropey 05/11/16.
Hazed reddish orange with a decent light crimson cap.
Nose is pissy cherry skins, funk, wood must, light balsa.
Taste comprises puckering cherries, spice, straw, wood must, red berry funk, light fruit balsams.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow puckering edge.
Decent easy drinking sour, approachable stuff but not top draw.
3.8Bottle shared at Colin’s. It pours cloudy pines - red with a quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is musty, funky, tart cherry, wood, vanilla and fruit pie. The taste is crisp, tart, good mouth - pucker, minerals, bright acidity, wood, vanilla, cherry, sour green apple, lemon sherbet, marzipan with a dry, firmly dry finish. Medium body and fine, pricey carbonation. Fresh, bright, fruity and tart. Nice, juan.
4.0Bottle shared at the hi wy cum. Tasting, 5/11/2016. Many thanks to Scopey for this one. A nice peach pink coloured pour with a a fine loose white head. Aroma is nutty marzipan, cherry. Raspberry. Berry fruits, woody. Flavour is composed of woody, raspberry, woody pips, cherry, funky sour, vanilla. Palate is tangy sour, highish carbonation, woody, melon. Nice. Complexity. Lovely.
4.1Bottle @home (Euro-vision 2016 tasting.) Pours reddish/brown with a slightly off-white head. Nose and taste is all the same funk straight up, cherries, some rhubarb, i’ve written down cherries twice on this bit of paper it must have been big cherries.
4.0Pours light reddy pink with no head and lots of fizz. Aroma is slight alcoholic cherries. A real lip smacking, dry your mouth, punch in the eye sourness to this. Fantastic. Truly fantastic.
3.4Bottle courtesy of Craig (shared with Craig, cheers mate!) had this at Cropredy 2016 I believe this bottle was consumed on Friday 12th August 2016 This pours reddy brown with a small head. Fruity with the cherries showing but not massively so, woody elements to this also, has a Belgian feel about it. Fruity, tangy and tart and quite good but no earth shaker. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
3.7Bottle at gbbf 2016.. Copper.. Thin white lacing.. Big funk fruit.... Zesty tart kriek... Big fruit.. Juicy fruit
3.9Bottle. Pours a cloudy blood orange with a fading light pink bubbly head. Aroma is of raspberry, cherry, cranberry, wood, floral. Taste is of more red fruits, raspberry, cherry, forest fruits, tart. Sticky oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.
4.1750ml bottle at the Head of Steam, Durham. Pale cloudy amber pour, with virtually no head. Sweet whiskey aroma, along with vibrant sour cherry. The flavour is a mouth-wrinkling sour cherry and rhubarb, with a touch of red wine and vinegar brought together in a carbonated mouthfeel, shot through with a tart, jammy sweetness.
