Off Color Apex Predator

Off Color Apex Predator

For Apex Predator Farmhouse Ale, we pitch the yeast cold, turn off the temperature control, and let the yeast do it’s thing. To our delight, it spat out the sweet scent of juicy fruit wafting from a frothy, white mane. Brewed only with grain and sugar unencumbered by the heat of the kiln, we create a hazy, golden body. Apex Predator gets its teeth from a generous Crystal dry-hopping that completes the dry finish with a fruity bite. Pounce on the opportunity to let it part your lips and you may find yourself at the top of the food chain.

4.0 Yeasty, very potent, as if every sip has some of the sediment from the bottom of the bottle. Tart lemon flavor, with dank hop flavor, and strong hop bitterness. Slightly sour with some rustic barnyard characteristics. Mostly drying, especially in the finish. Full bodied and the yeasty spice aspect is throughout. Alcohol presence in the finish and the after breath. Gives off the impression of tasting old world. Very nicely done brew.
3.5 Draught @ District Tap House. Clear golden yellow with foamy off-white head, faint citrus aroma, high carbonation, mildly bitter taste with basement flavors, lightly fruity-citrusy, thin body, longish finish. Very easy to drink.

4.2 Da gibt's erstmal richtig ne großartige BelgianYeastVermuffung. Klassisch geil!!! ;). Der Body ist ausgewogen, pendelt gekonnt zwischen getreidiger Sweetness, saftig cremiger Fruityness und einen wunderbaren WhiteWineDryness hin und her und hin und her... Und es ist echt stinky. 355ml Spass aus Chicago. Scotties Bottle Express Stuff :)...
3.5 Thin fast fading head. Nose is tropical fruit saison flavors. A true saison flavor that is prominent over everything else. Well done, just not my favorite style. Bitterness is on the tale end. Doe not have the fuzzy that some saison have. Juicy fruit like flavors build with time.

Decent and sessionable little on the sugary side

4.1 Pale straw colour. Hazy with a thick white head. The aroma is quite spicy and fruity. Has a bit of bright lemon, zesty hoppiness and a really flinty, spicy finish. Dry and crackery with a nice grassiness on the back. There's a bit of bright zestiness and a spiciness on the back. Really well-integrated and tasty.
3.5 Draft at uncommonground. To the point. No frills, just saison. I expected this to be more tart. White pepper nose. Solid.

3.7 Dégustée au printemps 2015 (De mes notes). .
5.0 Good beer, astounding taste. Chicago born, its a better product of the city than Michael Jordan himself. Maybe not, that dude is a legend. But it is damn awesome and I prefer it over any craft from Grand Rapids itself.
3.2 02.05.2014, tap @ CBC: Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish fruity, grapefruit, tangerine, citrus peel, rhubarb, unripe berries, hay, grass, sorrel, lemon. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, flowers, yeast, sugar, hay, banana, grain, oak, citrus peel. Medium bitterness, very dry mouthfeel. Fair enough.
3.8 Bottle from Whole Foods Roosevelt. Light yellow pour, nice head. Tasty saison. Juicy, over-ripe peach. Long-lasting bit form the relatively amped-up hops. Surprised its only 25 IBU. This would be worth repeating.
3.8 Really enjoyable. Funk, tart, balance, along with a bit of citrus and a fine dry finish. Unusual but very drinkable.
