3.7 Bottle sample @ 2nd RBBSG, August 11th 2012. Courtesy of Benzai.

3.6 290611: Delicious black, oily stout. Lovely wood and chocolate flavors. Tastes as it is stored in barrels for long time. Lots of flavor despite only 6.7%. Fantastic tasty creamy stout.
3.9 Tap. Dark black pour. Aroma of strong roasted malts. Taste is a very strong roast, alcohol, bitterness, coffee, and something else that tastes strong and dark that I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
3.8 @ Craft Beer co. Bottle pours engine oil black. Aromas of vanilla, cocoa, slightly burnt coffee and a smidgin of booze.Very good balance of character with a bitter hoppy finish. Flavours on a par with the aroma; chocolate, caramel, with a good mouth feel. A decent stout!!
3.2 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle - labeled as left coast black magic - this beer poured a black color - somewhat oily with a large creamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish licorice, cocoa, port wine and wood. The flavor was roasty and woody with notes of cola, anise, a hint of smoke and port wine. The finish was long, dry, roasty and woody. Medium body and somewhat creamy. Decent.

3.4 Sampler from bottle at Nærbø Ølfestival 2011 at the Cardinal stand. Deep mahogany with a light brown rim. Raisin, wood and vinous notes fill the nose. Medium to full body. Syrupy texture. Sweet, fruity, alcoholic and bitter. Notes of prune juice.
3.8 Bottle: Literally black with a big stable tanned head, chocolatey and toasty nose with a subtle fruitiness underneath; moderate to solid , not extremely dry , bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied, smooth; drier malt-bitter and chocolatey-fruity finish. Well, well, well.......

3.7 Bottle on Angs birthday. Thanks to Nic. Black. Its a choccy fruity beer. Some choc sponge some dark fruits of the forest. Competent
3.7 (Bottle) Pours black with a creamy brown head. The aroma holds almonds, glue, dark caramel, dark fudge, creamy chocolate and light coffee alongside a light off-note of green apples. Undertones of raw meat, raisins, gingerbread, fruity cocoa, vanilla and light burned/smoked hints. Creamy and full malt nose. Earthy hops with a dash of citrus. Light touch of doughy yeast. The flavor is light sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic. Tones of creamy chocolate ice cream, fudge, nuts, light hops and soft spices. The mouthfeel is creamy, round and velvety with a light, soft carbonation. The finish is light burned from the malt and light bitter from the hops alongside a robust chocolate tone. Medium bodied.
3.9 (Bottle 29/06-2011) Chocolate aroma, good taste, but the taste fade rather quickly.
4.0 Almost black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted bitter finish. Very nicely balanced. 290611
1.3 A: The beer pours just about black with a finger of tan colored head. S: Something is obviously amiss right away. Green apple, booze, vinegar, and nail polish remover. There is some roasted malt aroma in there too. Maybe a bit of char and coffee. T: This is a beer that hurts to drink. An enormous amount of nail polish remover and extremely acidic. It burns the throat and tongue a bit. Some harsh roasted malt and maybe coffee, but it’s sort of hard to tell/care. M: Medium in body with a moderate level of carbonation. O: Simply painful and atrocious.
3.9 Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense light brown head. Aroma of roast, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, light chocolate, coffee. Chocolate, coffee, sweetness, roast, liqourice, spice, cocoa in the flavour. Medium to full bodied. Has a dry roasty bitterness in the end. Very nice.

3.4 Shared bomber thx to rglk 2011-04-01 Göteborg AR: butterfudge AP: reddish dark brown, wee beige head F: rart/sour some coffey/chocolate
3.1 It’s pitch-black with a creamy, lasting head. The aroma is sour with notes of roasted malt and coffee. The flavour is moderately sweet and sour, it’s clearly infected, but not yet too bad. Beneath the sourness I find roasted malt, light chocolate and coffee, and the finish is dry and sour.
