Okocim Palone

Okocim Palone

13.4P

The dark colour and intense taste is due to a unique process of malt fire-burning. A process that
requires craftsmanship and precision from the brewer.
As a result a beer has been created with
a slightly sweet taste at first sip and a nice bitter follow through.

4.1 Verhalten malziger Geruch. Test vom 31.8.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,13,13,14,14,14 - 13,30
3.3 Found this one today hiding in the back of my beer fridge and am sad to see it has been retired. It had a nice, full body, and the malty sweetness made for a very full taste with no noticeable bitterness. Bottles were served at Milwaukee’s best Polish restaurant, and I’ll miss being able to order this in the future.
2.8 Can 50cl from a polnish friend tanks for him. A clear amber beer with god head. Aroma is in caramel with medium to low body, not very complex but drinkable. Will be better is not filtered, very basic.
3.0 Not very exciting but not bad. Many better dunkels are out there. Serving: Bottle
3.1 Bottle pours out crisp dark amber topped with a small tan head. Aroma is light caramel, molasses, pit fruit, and toast malts. Taste sweetness brown sugar, toast, nuts, and some chocolate.
3.3 Mohogany pour with a beige head. Malt aroma. Taste was caramel malt, little dry. lightly sweet. Nice tasting beer. Sweet creamy flavor. Ok lacing.
3.2 2009 Bottle - Thanks BuckeyeBoy!! - Pours a thin and clear dk amber with a small sandy head...aroma is dry, roast, grains, some light caramel and fruitiness...flavour is sinilar, brown sugar, cereal grain, toffee and cocoa in the finish...decent balance, decent beer...
2.8 aroma of cola, nuts and a lightly boozy end. body is pitch with some translucence at center in direct light. flavor is more nuttiness and a nearly root beer like sweetness that straddles ’offensive’. some mollasses as well. no articulated roast notes. oily, wet palate.
4.2 (bk-btl bk-lbl w/fiery-pheonix, fire-roasted malts, 5.5%) opq-br, med-full-body, med-co2, ^sweet-malt roasty §chclt no-mnrl no-hops. poured out of sight at SWC in Sanford Fl - I thought maybe it was a doppelbock.
2.5 [bottle @ RBESG 2009] Molasses, chestnuts, sweet plums and raisin aroma. Clear dark brown with a thin, beige top. Sticky sweet molasses flavour with no bitterness and a faint coffee accent. Medium body, sweet, low carbonation.
3.1 Wow, retired. That makes this extra special! ha. Pours a clear but very dark seemingly dull/opaque reddish chocolate color with a really nice dense creamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy, malt flour, a bit roasty, balanced caramel, pretty nice. Flavor follows, a bit smokey, porter like roastiness, a little sweet tanginess, finishing sweet roasty with lots of caramel notes, long smokey bitter chocolate aftertaste but still some sour sweet tang that lingers. Medium bodied, just slightly chewy with great fine fizzy sizzling carbonation. Pretty darn good, love the smokiness!
2.7 Bottle. Poured a clear brown with a beige head. Aroma had notes of roasted and burnt malts leading to a bit of a burnt caramel note. Flavor was nicely balanced between sweet malts and more grain malts towards the finish.
4.2 sweet nutty chocolate on the nose. some fruit as well. dark brown pour with a nice lingering of white head. watery mouthfeel that seems to not match the look of the beer. great malty sweetness on the palate. initial taste is a tad bit smokey with some sweet fruit. not a bad beer.
3.3 Bottle. Caramel, malty sweet chocolate aroma. Dark brown body with a ruby tint. Thin long lasting off-white head. Great lacing. Semi-sweet malty caramel flavor. Full bodied. Weaker finish. Solid drinkable beer.
2.8 Bottle 50cl. Clear dark brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet dark bread, roasted, caramel, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090718]
2.4 RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, Piccadilly Station, Manchester. Bottle. Why this crap has such a high score it;s out of my head ! Dark brown, sugar caramel nose. Flavour is very sweet malty, coke, maple syrup. Very artificial.
2.8 From bottle @ Manchester Piccadilly, waiting for the train... deep brown ,... big malt fruit ansd sweet sugar nose ... low carbonation ... big sweet toffee and cola... sugery
2.2 From bottle @ Manchester Piccadilly, waiting for the train. Deep dark brown color. Apple syrup in the aroma. Grainy sweet flavor with cola, caramel and apple syrup. Tastes cheap.
2.9 RBESG Sheffield 2009, day 3, Piccadilly Station, Manchester. Bottle. Dark brown colour. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel, nutty, a bit of rye. OK, but a bit on the sweet side.
3.4 Dark brown brew that produced a small ammount of tan head that faded quickly. Nice aroma albiet to mild. Lightly toasted dark malts, possible smoke (can’t convince myself it’s there), maybe I’m finding the hidden smell of grape gum. This would taste much better if not hampered by excessive bitterness for the style. Still, highly drinkable. Fairly sweet and a shit load of toasted malts (mild overall). i may be confusing what I think is notable alcohol during every sip with the hops...go figure. Weak nuttiness? Just over medium bodied. The carbonation that at first sip gave me the ’pop’ impression has rounded out nicely now and is quite good and soft. Good malt middle and finish that takes a bit of a hit with the obvious excessive bitterness. I could drink this all night despite the impression that I didn’t like it. If you really want to enjoy this let it warm considerably...more than usual. Thanks for the beer, bro.
3.0 Bottle. Pours dark clear brown with decent beige head. Sweet, slightly toasty malt head. Similar taste, with some lactic notes. Not bad, but not really my thing.
4.3 "Beer appears to be dark brown and can only be seen through when held up the light, I did a crappy pour and ended up with a four inch high cap that won’t go away and dam is it noisy I can hear it from five feet away. Wow what a freaking awesome aroma I’m completely surprised, coffee and very rich smooth malts a touch of chocolate, the aroma is mild making me smell it harder, this is just pure roasted malt goodness. This brew is tasty very tasty , rich and smooth roasted malts the flavor is sweet but is balanced perfectly with a touch of bitter coffee. So complex with every sip I taste something new, milk chocolate, berries, some metallic qualities, slight dirt. Simply shocked about how good this brew was, dammit to bad it’s a thirteen hour drive away from where I picked this up. This is just so complex, smooth and delicious my marks for this seem so over the top but they are what they are its plain fawking awesome. This is the best product to come out of Poland since the screen door on the submarine."
3.0 500ml bottle served in a Bell’s dimpled mug. Clear ruby/brown pour with a two-finger thick head of rocky tan foam. Decent retention and lacing. The aroma included sweet caramel, dark fruits, and toasted bread. The flavor had sweet malts, toasted caramel, and a hint of campfire. Malty, but thin and somewhat metallic. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. A slight step up from Warsteiner’s dunkel, but it still tastes very industrial.
3.0 Clear brown with no head. Aroma is light caramel and mellow spice. Taste is sweet, and a little rice. Smooth, not bad but not great.
3.6 Bottle: Underrated brew. Pours a brown with a ruby hue and a tan film of head. Sweet earthy aroma- very light peat character with dark caramel and chocolaty sweet notes- clean. Light silky body- nice malt depth- dark caramelized notes and light toasted toffee note mesh with a smoky/peat character. Sweet, but its soft and balanced by the mild smokiness. Remains refreshing despite its rich maltiness. Nice!
3.0 Bottle. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, malt, caramel, hop. Flavour is fruit, roasted, malt, caramel, hop. Medium mouthful. OK average beer.
3.1 bottle poured a brown color with a tan colored head. aroma has malt, faint roast, sweetness, and some vegetable. flavor has some mild roasted malt, hefty corn sweetness, light chocolate, and a touch of bitterness. really on the bland side and not too exciting for me.
2.9 16.9 ounce bottle from Greenlife Grocery in Asheville, NC. Pours a clear ruby tinted cola brown with a large creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts, smoke, chocolate. Taste is sweet malts, almost cloying but not quite, very light roast and a finish of dark fruits. Thin-medium bodied.
3.3 500ml bottle. Dark brown, nearly black with ruby highlights and a smallish head. Aroma is strong munich malt, very bready and a touch roasty, with some dark fruits lurking in the background. Not the rauchbier I figured I was getting, c’mon the label is on fire, what the hell? Sweet and malty with lots of dark fruits (figs, prunes, dates) and a touch of roast at the finish. This seems like a pretty dark dunkel, but I know they can get that way. All and all an easy drinking beer that shows a lot of nice malt character and is fairly quaffable.
2.5 500 mL bottle. Dark ruby-brown with a small, diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is sweet malt, with a touch of coffee and roast. Perhaps a little vegetal. Flavour is very syrupy sweet and not much else. Just too sweet.
