Bourbon, chocolade, toffee, rozijntjes. Mooie volle smaak. Lange afdronk.
4.2@Tasting BeerCon, bottle shared, black with brown lacing, aroma lots of bourbon, chocolate, dark malts, cacao, nice, Taste is soft, roasted, a bit thinner as expected, licorice, bourbon, chocolate, some red berries, sharp alcoholic, lovely bourbon, although could have been a bit thicker, still nice.
3.822 oz from total wine raleigh. Bottled 8/4/16. Quite fruit forward, but like that in a imperial stout. Fruit such as raspberries and blueberries. A little thin but the notes are quite amazing. The barrel notes a quite far in the background.
4.0qbottle at cropredy 2018 Friday.. thanks for saving Fin... dark black.. thin tan meaty bourbon nose... dark chocolate heavy malts.. Massive meaty bourbon which

3.7Tap, ADT. Dark brown with negligible head. Sweet dark malt, licorice, soy, hints of coffee. Full bodied with an oily texture. Long, sweet malty finish, evident alcohol.

Beczka najs. Lekkie w odbiorze. Troche domestos. Goryczkowo-choinkowe. Beczka ratuje
3.6Z: niedojrzała malina. Taka gorzkawa. No malina, jakis wytrawny miód. Finisz bardziej czeki. Jakieś akcenty może niedojrzałej może przejrzałe. No jakis zmarnowany potencjał przez maliny.
3.5Butelka. W aromacie maliny, wanilia, lekki bourbon. W smaku bardziej wyczuwalna malina, owocowość, wanilia i bourbon delikatny.
Spora pełnia, wysoka i alkoholowy finisz. Obiecujące, ale zawiera stare maliny i nieco zbyt ciężkie.
3.6Backlog. Sample. Raspberries, vanilla, dark chocolate, roasty, marshmallows, oak. Medium bitter, moderate sweet, slightly sour.
4.0From a bomber at home. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of dark pit fruits. Flavors of raspberries, molasses, bourbon and oak. Complex and delicious.
4.3Geproefd @ RBBWG 2017.
3.6Its pretty good but I can’t help but thinking that the version without the raspberries would have been better because the raspberries dominate.
4.025/II/17 - 22Fl. Oz. bottle @ RBBWG (Beerlovers Bar, Antwerpen) - BB: n/a (2017-263) Thanks to ... (?) for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy irregular off-white to beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very roasted, vanilla, sweet, caramel, lots of vanilla, dried fruits. Aftertaste: little bitter, malty, caramel, vanilla, nice, bit alcohol, little sweet, vanilla, sourish touch, fruity, raspberry touch.
4.0Bottle shared at RBBWG 2017 in Antwerp. Pale beige, moussy head quickly reduced to a thin yet steady rim, black robe with hazy burgundy edges. Aroma of molten black chocolate, blueberry jam (more so than the actually applied raspberries), candied fig, toffee, caramel, cappuccino, beef stock, teriyaki, vanilla, honey, fresh paint. Fig, raisin and elderberries in the mouth, sweetish with a softly souring counterflavor as well as some ’beefy’ umami, softish carbo, slick and oily mouthfeel. Toffeeish and nutty malt body, chocolatey, with a thin fruity tartness all around but no sharp tartness, solvent-rich finish (varnish) with lots of creamy chocolatey malt bittersweetness, lingering honey sweetness, warming bourbon and a subtle hint of woodiness. Very attractive, complicated and fascinating stout, really.
4.1Thank you (?)! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Black, creamy tanned head. Nose is bit thin, herbal, grain, mocha, ice cream, boozy,.... Taste is finer, herbal licorice bourbon sugar syrup, boozy, mocha, chocolate, touch licorice, unlike others I didn’t get the raspberries, boozy & sugary finish. Body is basic boozy, malty, licorice. Pretty decent, nice.
3.822oz bottle pours out black topped with a small tan head. Nose is heavy roast malts chocolate sweetness bourbon vanilla and some fruit. Taste is more of the chocolate sweetness bourbon barrel and berries.
3.92014. Saving some money. Drinking the random shit in my cellar. Raspberry actually still there. Beer has soy sauced out a little but that’s ok. Still a creamy mouthfeel. Nice drink a little sweet.
4.0I hate to use a word like "lush" in a beer review, but "lush" is exactly the right word for this damn thing. It pours dark brown without much foam, and the aroma is chocolate and vanilla from the barrel aging, plus a hint of the raspberries. The flavor adds coffee to that mix. The raspberries come through on the finish and don’t dominate the flavor, they just add an indulgent quality after all of the character from the malt and the barrel. This is the kind of beer that closes a meal in style, but it was also fine by itself.
3.9Bottle shared. Pours a deep brown with a small beige head that dissipates quickly. Low carbonation and visually looks like molasses. Roasted cacao aged honey and floral and vinous notes. Tart berry and honey on the palate. Smooth with lots of raspberry character and roasted coffee on the finish.
3.8Beer is black and oily with a lingering tan foam. Raspberries pop, but are muted by the roasted coffee finish.
3.8Bottle at dirty Matt’s, courtesy of the dirtiest of Matts. Opaque black with a forthy cola head. Raspberries are present but not overwhelming, complement the bittersweet baking chocolate and bourbon, espresso, almost burnt malts, vanilla bean and oak. Full body and mild carbonation, smooth and easy to drink with a nice complex and long finish.
4.3Bottle shared by a friend. Poured a deep dark black colour with a dark tanned head. Still a huge amount of fresh sweet raspberries in the nose, still after that age for a 13 vintage! Deep sweet bakers chocolate, oak, sweet bourbon, marshmallow, espresso beans, sweet vanilla, big fresh raspberry jam. Lovely aftertaste. Full bodied, with a big bourbon covered raspberry finish. Loved it
4.1ah great to drink one of the original stouts. Big roasty pine ash bomb, finish is all roast. Coffee and chocolate flavors.
4.1A: Black colour with a nice "espresso brown" head. N: Coffee, raspberry, chocolate, hint of liqourice T: Loads of raspberry! Coffee, berries, chocolate, soy O: Usually not very fond of raspberry stouts, but this is actually pretty good!
4.1Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fresh raspberry with black chocolate notes and some nice bourbon notes. Taste is a nice mix of fresh raspberry notes with some black chocolate notes and some bourbon and vanilla notes with light woody notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture. Greta beer with nice balance of flavours which raspberry providing an extra level of complexity to this beer. Wish this was available to me on a regular basis.
4.022 ounce bottle from Appalachian. Finally got around to opening. Pure black pour. Oil. Slick. Big bourbon notes. Maybe slight fruit from raspberries but I get that licorice stout taste.
4.0Dark pour with lightly translucent rim. Nose is fresh raspberry and oak, smokey malts. Taste is dry with great fresh raspberry flavor, dark and ashy malts, dark bitter chocolate. Definitely drier and more bitter than I expected.
