Olvi Sandels III

Olvi Sandels III

The respected war hero colonel Johan August Sandels was a skilled tactician also at negotiations. Once, when a negotiation for an armistice was coming to a dead end, Sandels suggested a lunch break. The salted meat was washed down with plenty of beer, and soon the enemy sent his messenger to give the word that the negotiations appear to take a long time.

1.8 Can. Light golden, small and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - grainy and dryish - lightly sweetish aroma, light herbal/vegetable hoppyness, light metal. Body is light, malty - grainy and dryish - lightly sweetish flavor, light herbal hoppyness, light metal. Finish is short to average, malty - grainy and dryish - lightly sweetish, light herbal/vegetable hoppyness, light metal. Your typical grainy "lager for the meek masses".
2.6 33cl can (as Sandels Premium Beer); BB 24th Jun 19, drank at home on 31st Aug 18 sat on the patio in the late afternoon sun. Obtained from a Finnish shop in Quedlinburg, Germany. Wispy white topping on my clear golden pour. Not a lot going on aroma or flavour wise to be honest, a decent enough refreshing blend, with a balance between weak maltiness and semi-bittering hops. Lawnmower beer!
1.8 Gulbrun klar med lavt hvitt skum. Lukter korn og maltekstrakt. Lett. Smaker lett søtlig karamell, gjær og maltekstrakt .
2.3 Vanha kunnon herra eversti. Maistuu niin taistelun jälkeen kuin rauhan aikana, pahemman puutteessa. Maku parhaimmillaan Koljonvirralla, jossa everstille kunniaa tehden voi tyhjentää useammankin tölkin.

2.0 Clear golden beer with small white head. Aroma is weak grassy and malts. Taste is watery, metallic, malty. Light body. Just another typical lager.
2.3 500ml can. Rated this before but my rating seems to have disappeared somewhere. Pours clear gold with a brief and small white head. Aroma is cereal and malt. Taste is malt, water, corn. Pretty lame eurolager.
2.1 Aroma: yeast and malt. Taste: faint grass, corn and something sweet and unpleasant. Metallic feel. It is drinkable, but only just.
1.4 Pours golden with medium white head. Aroma is light malts. Taste has malts and corn. Watery. Not good but there is worse macro lagers.
2.6 Can thx to daddy picked up in Mariestad cons 2016-12-24 Karlskoga AR: cardboard box, sweet syrup AP: pale golden, high frothy chemical white fluff F: cardboard box, sweet syrup, corn
2.4 Can. Grassy and malty aroma. Taste has some corn, malt and grain. Probably the best big Finnish lager, but of course still nothing special.
1.7 Pours golden clear with average head. Aroma is malts, dust, cardboard, light sweetness. Taste is malty, average sweetness, metallic, some cardboard. Very boring lager.
1.9 Kullankeltainen kirkas olut pienellä, nopeasti häviävällä vaahdolla. Hieman katkeroa, aika vetinen.
1.9 Clear gold colour. Light malty aroma of hay and some kind of cracker or cookie. Taste is initially balanced and a bit bitter, with quite long finish. I’d say a bit better than most of the Finnish big guns like Lapin Kulta, Koff and Karhu lagers, and around same prize.
2.0 Clear pale color with airy head. Aroma is malty and bready. Taste is light bitter, nothing saying. Drinkable, but not remarkable.
2.5 Can in Turku, Finland, Malt, cereal, cardboard and light grassy aroma, Clear pale yellow color, quickly disappearing head, Sweeter taste, light bitter finish, Medium body, average carbon, Not too bad.
1.7 500 ml. Straight from the bottle. Malty sweet, bready taste and aroma with some plastic notes as well. Weak industrial brew.
2.5 330 ml can. Golden yellow colour. Medium white head. Slight aroma of malts and grass. Slightly sweet, watery beginning. Bit malty in the middle. Slightly bitter finish, but rather sweet aftertaste. Light bodied, medium carbonated, average, ususal lager beer from mass production.
4.0 In my opinion. One of most underrateds beers of Europe. I like its taste and apperence really much. And these styles of beers are usually my favorites
1.3 Cant really say anything about aroma. So faint. Taste is a bit of malty sweetness. No noticable hops on this can. Doesnt taste bad but nothing good to say about this.
2.1 Can. Pours clear golden with high white head. Aroma is basic lager: bready, malts. Taste is malty and watery. Great for sauna.
1.9 Bottle 500 ml. Clear golden color, white head. Typical eurolager aroma and taste: clear, a bit watery, malty with hint of hops.
1.9 0,33l can from supermarket. Golden colour, pours with diminishing white head. Sweet bready aroma, low carbonation. Watery and thin body, basic european supermarket lager. Ok, goes nice with Sauna.
2.3 Basic eurolager. Malty aroma and taste, shy, crispy, average, nothing special, very drinkable.
2.4 This lager is still a mainstream lager from the Finnish. It has rapidly dwindling foam, but despite its rather dull and flat appearance emits a nice hoppy aroma with a touch of a little flower. Malt full bodied unit is medium and its hoppy bitterness is dry and provides protracted aftertaste.
