Unbelievablely smooth at 7.7%. Crisp and refreshing. Upon a second sip, it has a slight hint of sour apple. Great beer to end the summer and head into fall. Cheers!
A great Belgium style beer. Good body, and very distinctive Belgium taste. This is IMO the beer that put Ommegang on the map.
Very good saison, but not quite as good or complex as their saison rose.
Golden and a little hazy with good off white head. Hints of ginger, flowers, and grassy notes. Sweet but bitter. All in all a good saison and a great warm weather saison
Pours a hazy golden colour with one finger of lasting head. Aroma is dampened by the foam. Mild aromas of citrus and bread comes through. Taste matches the aroma with a surprising mildly sweet banana flavour from the Belgian yeast. Well balanced. Not as dry and bitter as your usual saison. High carbonation with medium body and creamy mouthfeel. It's like Tripel Karmeliet and Saison Dupont had a kid that grew up in the States haha. Loving it. Definitely in my Top 3 when it comes to Saisons.
May have been my first Saison, so didn't know exactly what to expect. This is sort of what I expected though... a grassy, grainy, yeasty beer that is fresh off the barnyard. Pale yellow/slight gold appearance that is mostly clear. Aroma is grassy, with citrus and yeast. Also noticed some banana in both the smell and taste. Good carbonation as well. Thought this would be a little better than it was, but grew on me towards the end.
12 fl. oz. bottle poured in a tulip shaped glass. Hazy, light orange in color. Head disappeared within a few minutes. The nose is fresh, with hints of orange and coriander. Definitely rounder and bigger than their equally enjoyable Short Sleeve Saison.
Part of a three pack from the holidays gifted from my father, Doug Theresa Aadland, Ginnepin Saison Ale is an ale brewed with juniper berries, lemon and lime zest, orange peel, ginger, coriander, and grains of paradise crafted by Brewery Ommegang.The aroma of yeast, ginger, and coriander is sensed on the nose. The appearance is a hazy gold with an inch white head. Carbonation is moderate with a tinge of ginger to go with it. The alcohol content of 7.7%.
Belgian yeast and banana provide the usual flavors we expect in a Belgian beer. Saison is fluid with the yeast. Juniper berries add a sharp, light tart to the beer. Ginger is tasted from start to finish and easily picked out with the carbonation. Orange peel is fully comprehended in the finish.
Lemon is dominant over the lime when you drink. Lime compliments the yeasty body and is left behind on the mouthfeel after the finish. Coriander is sensible on the take. Grains of paradise leaves a peppery complexion to the beer.
Gennepin is a follow up to Hennepin, which had ginger, coriander, orange peel, and grains of paradise. Coriander is weaker in this variation while the lemon and lime zest rule in the mouthfeel. Juniper berries brings a light tart bite to the beverage. Gennepin is an amazing Belgian and wonderfully complex. I enjoyed this a lot; the ginger, lemon, and lime complexion is my favorite part to this brew.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy auburn gold color. Firm frothy beige head. Earthy, yeasty grainy malt nose. Tart, sweet and refreshing. Notes of crusty bread, grassy hops and earthy malt. Some citrus fruit flavor, with notes of vanilla and spice. Crisp, dry finish. Excellent balance of malt and hops. Delicious.

Sweet aroma, a combination of a saison and a belgian ale. Floral perfume, hay, honey. Taste is sweet and lightly bitter. Grass, honey, quite belgian-triple-ish. Quite sweet, nothing special.
The bottle pretty much nails it:This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. I didn't care for it so much primarily because of the hop presence but I couldn't quit drinking it either. Interesting beer
February/2017 second tasting. Didn't notice the hot presence that much this time. Thought it was pretty good nice long lasting finish.
Could of sworn this was rated? But guess not, growler fill on the cheap, so no complaints, pours a light yellow gold with nice fluffy white head,nose is grain, lemon rind n some banana peel, quite light bodied, nice saison that goes down easily and is fairly smooth, nice overall, finishes with a slight bite of alcohol, dry for the most part, tasty...

12oz bottle. Pours clear golden with a full white and persistent cap. Yeast, wheat, coriander, malt aromas. Flavors add banana, clove. Zesty texture, very high carbonation. The finish is peppery yeast and banana. Nice.

On tap @ the Town Crier, Toronto. Pours a large amount of foamy white head. Pale golden appearance. Fairly clear. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas are mainly floral hops, light orange peel and wheats as well as Belgian yeast notes. Slight bitter citrus hop flavours, sort of yeasty, wheats and grain notes as well mild coriander. Mild spices. A bit of malty sweetness also comes through. Smooth and wet mouthfeel. Good balance. Medium retention.
Smell of yeast, orange, champagne. Come in golden color with white cream crown. Taste of yeast, ginger, citrus. Somewhat sour and high in alcohol for session. Refreshing and good for summer. Good above average.

37,5cl bottle from beergium. Hazy gold color. Thin very persistent white head. Medium bitterness, light sweetness. Dry body. Aroma and flavour is pepper, honey, malt, fruit, hops, spices, leaves, citrus, yeast.
Very smooth. High carbonation and big earthy and funky nose. Easy to drink and easier to get used to. Seems elegant.
