3.7Só me recordo das notas, mas posso dizer que é uma breja leve e refrescante, uma ótima belgian pale ale.
2.9Deep gold, clear, tight lace.
Full body, intense flavor, nice carbonation and heat.
Bitter, dry.
Very hoppy, not enough malt, for me.
Big beer, not well balanced.
3.512 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Slightly hazy, golden, generous white head and lots of lacing. Aroma of hops, some citrus fruits; some floral notes and yeast. Taste is a nice surprise, quite hoppy, bitter; citrus notes, some yeast and some malts. Very interesting and enjoyable beer.
3.312oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden with an extremely frothy white head. Decent beer for the style though I find the hybrid to be less enjoyable than a pure IPA or a straight Belgian ale. It definitely has some great hop notes similar to a Californian IPA but then the yeasty Belgian notes show up and throw my taste buds into confusion.
3.4Hop House is a heavily hopped Belgian/IPA hybrid. It’s as sweet as a Belgian and as hoppy as an IPA, and there are many beers like it. Which is fine, because it’s a good style, and this is a good example of it. It pours pale orange, the head is average, the aroma is floral hops. The flavor has a mildly fruity, dry white wine kind of quality. There is a rush of hoppy burn at the end.
3.7bottled, golden orange with white foam head, soft fruity yeast aroma, flavor is hoppier than typical Belgian, some lemon and bready yeast, good finish
3.4Bottle. Pours a golden orangish color. Aroma and taste are fruits, pine, and some citrus.
3.912 oz. bottle from Bottled. Aroma: Light musty lemon; slight gum; moderate grapefruit; light spiciness. Appearance: Opaque rich gold (w/yeast) with a frothy white head that maintains a whipped cap. Flavor: Moderate citrus and semi-sweet up front; really dries out with some light lemon and spiciness towards the finish, which has a pleasant bitterness. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Really nice stuff; well conceived and executed.
3.5Poured from 12oz brown bottle into nucleated schooner glass, a hazy light golden amber colour with white foam and lace. Light body, highly-attenuated, leaving almost no grainbill complexity, emphasis on fruity hops and spicy Belgian yeast. Black pepper, clove, banana, leaf compost, wildflower honey, grapefruit, cedar. Spritzy carbonation, nice smooth alcoholic strength, bone dry finish with slightly hoppy and spicy aftertaste. A hoppier Belgian pale ale, reminiscent of New Belgium Long Table Farmhouse Ale or Perennial Hommel Bier. An easy-drinking summer beer with more complexity than most, but nothing spectacular especially for its high price. Good not great.
2.9Bottle. Not sure what makes this a Belgian anything... tastes like an average Pale Ale, with no trace of the signature yeasty funk I expect from any beer style with the word ’Belgian’ in it (Ommegang just trying to cash in on the hop rage after all these years). Fuckin lame.
3.6Bottle, at the Corner Foodery, Philadelphia. A creamy, off-white head forms over a hazy, orange colored body, releasing aromas of oranges, zest mostly, some Belgian yeastyness and a spiced touch. Nice bitterness in the flavor, not too sweet, with citrus zest and some sweetish malts. It’s full-bodied, smooth and with a nice carbonation. Rather dry. Long belgo finish with oranges and a decent bitterness. Nice indeed. 150622
4.1Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a large fluffy white head. Aromas of sweet malt and loads of citrus hops. Flavors are citrus, cut grass, biscuit and herbal hop notes. Clean, citrusy finish with a balanced hop bite. Very refreshing. Nicely done!
4.0Bottle from Buffalo NY. Fat fluffy head w/citrus hop aroma. If this was a blind taste test I’d say "A very nice IPA." Very drinkable & tasty.
3.5Bottle 355ml @ The Corner Foodery, Philadelphia, PA
Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast, grass and floral. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long floral, grassy and yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.5Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Deep translucent light orange with big bright white head. Aroma is dry orangey yeast, medium body, medium carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is yeasty, herbal hops, some orange, and dry finish. Good Belgian ale.
3.5Bottle. Moderate grain and straw for the malt, moderate to heavy herbs and grass for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with a hint of melon in the background. Head is large, frothy turning rocky, slightly off-white with good lacing and is fully lasting. Color is sparkling clear medium amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, slick with a lively to fizzy carbonation. Hoppy and grainy, it’s a nice unique Belgian Ale.
3.9Great balance for a pale ale. Nice hop bite. More malt than a lot of pale ales.
3.6Draft. Pours a hazy gold to copper with a decent sized khaki head that settles slowly and laces nicely. Cascade hop spice and pine shines alongside some tame yet distinct Belgian yeast spice and phenols, along with some caramel and toasted malt. Somewhat sweet, fairly bitter. Light to medium bodied, somewhat grainy, fairly active, finishing dry and spicy. Decent brew, on the milder side all around, but not lacking character.
3.912oz bottle. No code date. Appearance: Dark golden with orange tint, hazy, with a thick frothy white head.
Aroma: Grassy, earthy, floral hop notes stand out. Hint of citrusy yeast esters.
Taste: Sweet bready malt quickly turns to a sharp citric bitterness. grassy hop flavor hits on the swallow. Apple and pear yeast flavors appear as well
Mouthfeel: Medium with some creaminess and a sharp carbonation.
Finish: Dry an sticky on the tongue, with lingering bitterness, and flavors of fresh cut grass, apple, and pear.
Overall: Wow. Amazing blend of a Belgian Pale Ale, with crazy American hopping. Hops dominate the nose, but the Belgian yeast comes thru well in the taste.
3.6Pours hazy orange with heavy sediment. Foamy white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, light pine and floral hops. Taste is same with sweet bready malt backbone, super sweet OJ, grapefruit, banana, sugar cane and hop spice. Sweet nose, dry bitter finish with a bit of sugary tart. Good carbonation. Medium-oily mouthfeel.
4.0[7026-20150122] Bottle. Hoppy orange grass and mild peat hints in the aroma. Murky, orange tan body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Bitter cereal orange peel flavour with a dry leafy finish. Medium body is quite bitter. Tasty! (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0
3.9Pours a hazy yellow with a slight hit of brown and a big white head that lingers and leaves heavy lacing.. The nose is hops. The body is full. The taste is hops with upfront light malt.
3.6Tap, orange pour, white head, nose is hops, taste is citrus, grapefruit, hops, awesome
3.7Ha, it took me a minute to realize what I had here, presupposing it was just an IPA, I thought, oh man, its old. No, its a Belgian IPA. And its fine. Nice light banana wheat citrus zest phenol that I would otherwise not like but is balanced by the fruitiness and spicy hopping, resiny bitter finish.
3.2Bottled. Poured medium orange with lots of sediment and a sticky white head.. lots of carbonation too. The aroma picked up mostly biscuity malts with white pepper, clove, and dried herbal hop accents. The flavor found biscuit and bready malts at the core, with Belgian-y yeast spices, a heavy dose of bitter hoppage (earth, herbal, and pine), and carbonation throughout.. finished dry and spicy. Medium-bodied with high carbonation on the palate (a bit heavy for me).. tasty.
3.0Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and mostly lasting head. Moderate, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish - sweetish aroma, light caramel and floral fruitiness with light citrus, light - some citrus hoppyness, light yeast. Body is medium, malty - some wheat and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel and floral fruitiness with light - some citrus hoppyness, Finish is average, malty - lightly heaty and lightly sweetish, light floral fruitiness, some citrus hoppyness, light yeast. Floral fruitiness and bitterness just do not work here together. Just a mongrel.
3.712oz bottle 4/13/15 (Binny’s Glen Ellyn)-38° in Shaker-Pours a hazy goldenish orange with a big white head. Aroma of hops, yeast, orange, and citrus. Taste of the same with more hops and Belgiany taste. This light to medium bodied brew is well balanced and is quite tasty.
3.5Bottle from Antioch. Unclear orange pour without much head. Nose has some orange, some bread, some grain and light tang. Taste is bready grapefruit and orange, some tangy Belgian yeast. Light to medium bodied, little alcohol presence. Finishes bittersweet and fruity. Nice tasty effort. 13.7
4.1Aroma bread, cereal, citrus, dough, banana,
Appearance golden, hazy, cloudy, frothy, white foam,
Taste medium sweetness,
Palate medium body, creamy, lively,
Overall a great beer that I would suggest to a friend
3.6It seems no one in their reviews can quite agree what the fruit is in the nose - I am not sure but it seems to be pears and/or apples. Also a little candy and yeasty twang. Full retained head, leaves a touch of soapy lacing. Yes hazy. Taste is right on, a bit of hop grit in the background and at the finish, but it plays a secondary and balancing role. Mouthfeel is playful, quite a tang of small bubble carbonation, The feel when rolling it around is thick and oily. This is a really well made beer.
