Omnipollo Aurora

Omnipollo Aurora

WHEAT IPA
The wort of this beer looks radio active. Pale, wheaty and green tinted from a pos boil hop burst.

After a short and efficient fermentation we dry-hop it as many times as it takes and carbonate it softly.

We love brewing beer, thinking about beer, dreaming about beer, talking about beer, breathing beer, changing beer, exchanging beer etc.

Chill it perfectly and crush it deductively.

Brewed by Crazy Mountain in the US and De Proef Brouwerij in Belgium.

3.8 Wheat IPA, draught at Omnipollo's Hatt, normal serve so not some or other bizarre ice cream- or other dessert-evocative experiment... Cobweb-lacing, egg-white, very tightly lacing, medium thick, moussy; hazy lemony-yellow golden robe. Aroma of yellow grapefruit, green kiwi, lemon zest, green olive, lime blossom, bread crust. Cleanly fruity, crisp onset, restrained in sweetness, minerally notes, apple peel and unripe banana, light green olive-like accent, medium carbonation, slick, lightly oily mouthfeel. Cereally white bread malt body dried by a piney, herbal and grapefruity, 'old school' American style hoppiness, long and resinously bitter. Probably the Proefbrouwerij-brewed version - too bad one can hardly compare with the one made at Crazy Mountain - but in any case a decently 'old school' style IPA of the kind I still greatly enjoy in these NEIPA-hyped times.
3.8 On tap at Bøker & Børst. Hazy orange body under a nice two-finger white head. Curtains. Canned peach and citrus in the aroma. Grapefruit and some orange. It’s full-bodied, soft and rather dry on the palate, with a nice bitterness. Some residual sweetness, with a generic fruity flavor, although it’s the peach and citrus, grapefruit mostly, that stands out. Lasting hop driven finish. A very fine wheat IPA. 171020
3.6 A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 14th February 2019. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass. It was a hazy straw yellow colour with a big three finger frothy white head that had good retention while leaving some lacing. Aromas of melon, papaya, grapefruit, citrus rind and peel and pine. Tastes bitter, grapefruit rind and peel, light sweetness, maybe pineapple, pine and grass. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, quite nice, especially the aroma. But I didn’t get much wheat in the aroma nor in the taste.
3.4 33cl bottle at home, bought at Hopt.nl. Appearance: hazy yellowish straw with a fairly stable medium sized white head. Aroma: lemon, hop resin, pine, pineapple on sirup and some grapefruit. Taste: medium sweetness and high bitterness. Notes of lemon, lime, pine, hop resin. Palate: medium bodied, watery texture and lively carbonation. Overall: a pretty good IPA. A bit thin in texture imo.
3.5 Bottle 33cl, a golden beer with medium head. Nose is intense on hop resin, grapefruit, unmatured fruits, papaye, orange. Taste is very sweet and massively bitter. Aroma is on old yellow fruits, candied fruits, resin, pine, grapefruit, green fruits, and very bitter, especially at the finish with an extremely bitter finish.
3.6 Citrus and tropical fruit aroma. Cloudy yellow color with minimal sized white head. Ordinary citrus taste, not bad but nothing to talk about. Medium body, soft carbonation.
3.6 330 ml bottle @ Home. Served in a tulip glass. Aroma: quite intense aromas of papaya, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, pine. Appearance: straw yellow color with perfectly white head. Medium haziness. Low to medium head thickness with low to medium retention. Fluffy foam made of big bubbles. Very low Brussels' lacing. Taste: low sweetness, medium to high bitterness, low sourness. Flavors of papaya, grapefruit, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, citrus, pineapple, pine, grass. Balance is toward the hoppy and bitter side. Malts and wheat flavors are not noticeable. Palate: low to medium body, silky texture, high carbonation, very long and dry finish with medium bitterness and the same aforementioned flavors. Alcohol is very well hidden under lots of hops, its sweetness is not noticeable and its throat warming effect is not very noticeable. No astringency. Overall: nice appearance with very good aromas and flavors of tropical fruits, grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, citrus. Maybe too much carbonation. Very refreshing and thirst quenching. It reminds me of a NEIPA but it is a Wheat IPA. Quite good and well brewed.
3.7 Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of garlicy hop, citrus, creamy biscuity malt, mango and pineapple. Taste has fresh pineapple, garlicy hop, citrus, mango, pine and a bitter finish. Nice one.

4.3 From Hopt. In Teku glass. Playing Avernun 2. Very fruity, citrusy in a neipa fashion, with grassy notes. Improves with each sip, ending quite addictive. Didnt notice the wheat

3.4 Bottle.golden colour with White head.Aroma og hops and citrus, event mild spicey with hint of caramel and dry bitter mouthfeels well balanced and hoppy finish.
3.0 Original rating: Bottle @ home. A bit hazy pale yellow color, full sized white head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is pretty grassy, grassy hops. Taste wheat, grassy hops, citrus-ish notes but not in a really pleasant way, reminds me of dishwasher water or something. A bit sharp bitter finish. Hmm not as good as I had hoped. 7-3-6-3-11=3.0 -- Rerate October 14th 2018. Tap @ Van Moll 5 year anniversary. Shared with Joes and Judyvv. Almost clear yellow golden color, average sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, hops, slightly a butter note in the distance that's a bit unfresh. Overall ok. 6-3-6-3-12.
3.6 Tap @ Biercab, Barcelona. Hazy yellow brown. Wheat and hops. Dry sharp. Not the best from this brewery.

3.5 Butelka. Zamglona słomka, średnia piana. Cytrusy, grejpfrut, owoce tropikalne. W smaku gładkie, krótka, niezalegająca goryczka, orzeźwiające, średnio wysycone.
3.5 Bottle at NK Ölbar. Hazy golden with a large white head. Sweetish with tropical fruit, grass, juice and some hops. The finish was medium bitter.

4.0 13/II/18 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: ?/VIII/18 (2018-166) Thanks to ElManana+1 for sharing the bottle! Clear yellow beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, lots of citrus, grapefruit. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty fruity, citrus, grapefruit, resinous, very bitter. Aftertaste: medicinal, very bitter, resinous, lots of grapefruit, some passion fruit.
3.5 Bottle @ BBQ. Very hazy yellow with a large white head. Smells slightly sweaty, malty, some hops. Tastes hops, malty, sweet. Medium body, soft carbo.
3.6 Bottle, 0.33l. Pale orange pour, half finger frothy off-white head. Medium retention, leaving some lacing. Fresh and light on the nose, notes of wheat and citrus, grassy and herbal. Thin to medium body, medium carbonation, perhaps a bit on the soft side. Therefore, very pleasant mouthfeel and texture. Taste is moderately bitter, feels a bit subdued. Tasty, yes, but personally I'd prefer more pronounced bitterness and hop aroma. Aroma is mostly herbal. Wheat and grains, subtle citrus. Grassy, a bit spicy. Feels pretty light for the ABV. Drying peppery mouthfeel and finish, long lasting. Overall, good beer. Nothing spectacular but drinkable nonetheless. Refreshing.
3.7 God och fräsch ipa. Hazy och fin, mycket sötma, blommiga toner och lång beska!
3.1 Tap. Hazy yellow beer, thick white head. Fruity, peachy, creamy nose, soft. Flavor is mild, slightly sweet, fruity, but with an unfortunate almost acrid bitterness. Long herbal bitterness in the aftertaste. Smells nice.
3.5 IPA de trigo algo sorprendente, con un buen nivel de amargor aroma y paladar. Esperaba menos pero que se podía esperar de una gran cervecera como Omnipollo.
3.5 Very soft and delicious beer where the hops contribute more to the bitterness than the aroma. Some grapefruit can be detected. Ok
3.7 Keg at North Bar, Leeds. A hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, some papaya, a hint of straw and slight herbal hops. Taste of pineapple, grapefruit, maybe papaya, slight straw and subtle herbal hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A long, dry, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Pineapple on the nose with a big hoppy hit of fruit. Dry and bitter. Good.
3.4 Tap (at ujh). Pours hazy yellow. Aroma is fruity, pineapple, citrus. Flavor is sweet and bitter, dry, citrus, pineapple. Finish is dry. Covers alcohol well. Overall: ok.
