Omnipollo / Buxton Yellow Belly Peanut Butter Biscuit Stout

Omnipollo / Buxton Yellow Belly Peanut Butter Biscuit Stout

“Yellow belly” — a person who is without courage, fortitude, or nerve; a coward.

To us, one of the most cowardly deeds is to act anonymously, hiding behind a group. A signifying trait of institutionalised racism.

This beer is brewed to celebrate all things new, open minded and progressive. A peanut butter biscuit stout with no biscuits, butter or nuts. Taste, enjoy, and don’t be prejudiced.

3.9 33 cl bottle @ home as ”Ceased & Desisted Final Batch” Aroma has sweet chocolate and cereal. Flavour has alcohol, licorice, some sweet dark chocolate and cereal. Not as oversweet as some Omnipollo imperial stouts are. Actually somewhat balanced and nice.
4.0 330ml bottle from Craft Tooting. As ‘The Beer’. Black. Nose of liquorice, light nutty notes and brown sugar. Thick and very full. Think this is better than previous versions. Lovely rich finish.
4.3 Bottle. Black, nearly no head. Nose, coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate and, indeed, as promised, peanuts and biscuits (precisely speculoos). Smooth and dense (but not oily) mouthfeel. Sweet taste with a mild spicy bitter finish. Nicely complex, excellent stuff.
4.1 Bottle from a private collection, thanks Fin! Dark, little brown head. Bourbon, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, hazelnutty hints in the nose. The flavor is a smooth and sweet combination of most known pastry stout flavors I've ever detected - but I don't get peanut butter or biscuits. ;-)
4.2 Appearance: very dark, almost black. Delicate beige head, which quickly vanishes. Aroma: chocolate with peanut butter, caramel, sweet coffee. Taste: very sweet, peanuts, milk chocolate. Delicate roasty sourness in aftertaste. Alcohol noticable. Full body, thick texture. Low carbonation. Very good aromatized imperial stout.
4.5 Dark brown, almost black. Brown head, big bubbles, three fingers, good retention, beatiful lacing. Impossible to see the carbonation through the darkness. Creamy, heavy texture. In the beginning, you'll need a spoon. Then, oilier. The smell is amazing and inviting: peanut butter, blueberry, cheesecake hints, hazelnut, chocolate, biscuits, yogurt hints. Taste is: peanut butter, blueberry, cheesecake hints, marshmallow hints, chocolate, hazelnut, biscuit, butter. Sweet with a hint of acidity. Bittersweet finish with the alcohol well integrated. Last batch, this is a real shame. One of the best Pastry Stouts and one of the most intense beers I've had. A delight to sip slowly.
4.4 330ml bottle at home. Thick, unctuous black pour with a lasting thin tan head. Peanut butter and chocolate aroma, flavors same with fudge, roast coffee, dark malt, chocolate milk, vanilla, caramel. Low carb, thick mouthfeel. Exquisite chocolate, peanut butter, roasty, fudge finish. This really surprised me with how delicious it was. Outstanding.
3.7 Poor black, foam gading away. Smell strong to coffee and toffee. Taste great complex beer, some sweetness. Peanuts, biscuit is there. (Velp 201907)
3.8 Sort tynd brun skum, lidt tyk konsistens.
3.5 Bottle @Sam Beer (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color cappuccino media, discretamente persistente. In bocca è sgraziata, dolce, stucchevole già dopo pochi sorsi, cioccolatosa e caramellosa. Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-leggera. Non un granchè.
4.3 Bottle @ Christian firtal, Odense. Medium head with medium duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, peanuts, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, spices and hops. Nice and sweet finish. Full bodied.
3.8 Aroma of coffee, chocolate, caramel, nuts, smoke, vanilla and a hint of leather. Black with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Full body with average carbonation. Dry and bitter finish. Overall a very nice adjunct Stout. Balanced, rich and warming.
4.6 A very special beerpal bottle (thanks Dawbs i’m honoured!!!). Instant aroma on decapping, nutty and malty. Pours with a hypnotic oiliness, spirals almost silently into the glass. The aroma of toasted nuts, chocolate, biscuit, marshmallow are rich. Taste is incredibly rich, creamy chocolate malt...oily, thick body leaves a rich slightly bitter aftertaste. Wow, just wow. I’ve enjoyed a few imperials before from To Øl (Jul Maelk) and evil twin (imperial biscotti break) but this pips them to my favourite of all.
4.3 Bottle. Pours black. Caramel, chocolate, lightly roasted. Full bodied, smooth, balanced, thick, oily.
4.4 Pitch black with tan head which disappears quickly. Aroma of strong peanut butter and chocolate. Taste of peanut butter, chocolate, roasted malts, hops. Full mouthfeel, low carbonation. Superb!
4.8 Currently claiming the title of one of my all-time favourite stouts. Smooth and rich with peanut butter, roasty-biscuit, and chocolate all present. (Or so it would seem - the likeness to the flavours makes it difficult to believe none of these were used in the brew.) Intense, yet somehow still balanced. An absolute treat.
5.0 A swedish, black Imperial Stout with extremely low head. Aroma is chocolate, peanut butter, caramel. Light liqourice, light raisin. Taste is bitter sweet. Very soft.
4.1 Botella 33 CL en Cimmeria 03..05.. 2019. (r600) lote GB636 fcpref 11..08..2021.
4.4 Bottled, as "Ceased & Desisted Final Batch". It pours very dark brown, almost black, with some red highlights, and a moccha-hued diminishing head. Aroma is very intense: different nuts (including peanuts, but of course), cocoa, vanilla, milk chocolate, coffee drop. Very low carb. Dense, silky, firm, sweetish yet very bitter. Interesting.
4.4 Bottle from Jeroboams in Muswell Hill. Pours near black with a tan head. Good aroma of roasted malts and peanut butter. The taste is exceptionally good, with flavours of vanilla, chocolate, cafe latte, vanilla and peanut butter. It has plenty of sweetness, but there is a good bitterness to create excellent balance. Very good feel in the mouth with plenty of aftertaste. A really enjoyable Imperial Stout which would make a very good accompaniment to a chocolate pudding or a similar desert.
4.1 0,33 litre bottle from Vinmonopolet Fetsund. Black with light brown head. Roasted malts, hops, caramel, chocolate, peanuts,
3.4 (Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 11.08.2021, from Alko, 20190416) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, peanut butter, biscuits and sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, hops, ash, peanut butter, ash, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A pleasant surprise: not excessively sweet and tasted occasionally like a beer should. 3.8 Oily, black colour with a little bit of tan lacing. Sweet malty aroma, plenty of peanuts and cookie dough. Flavour is also sugary and sweet at first, followed by dark malty bitterness, medium roastiness. Medium body, low medium carbonation, smooth and thick mouthfeel.

4.3 Appearance is inky black, a very small tan fizzy ring. No light escapes. Aroma- huge peanut butter, chocolate cake, vanilla hints, caramel, toffee, dark malt, roast malt, trace of liqueur chocolate, coffee. Taste- thick rich chocolate, peanut butter, toffee penny, caramel biscuit, vanilla, roast dark malt, chocolate brownie, milky coffee, more peanut butter. Thick rich mouthfeel. Superb.
