3.2 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 3.5%. Extremely pale straw colour, moderate white head. Aroma of lemons, lactic acid, pineapple and sea water. Light bodied. Fairly sour flavour, notes of lemons and lactic acid, barely a hint of pineapple, also a hint of salt.
4.3 Bottle. Light beer with minimal white head. Zest, sour, pale aroma. Sour taste of lemons, tropical fruits, and apples. Dry and sour finish, high carbonation. Very good and refreshing.
3.6 Ut060917. 33cl bottle at home from Only Good Beer, Budapest. Nose is root vegetables. Lemon, biscuits. Medium sweet-sour. Medium lasting citric medium sweet-sour, hint of salt. Light body, dry, fizzy carb. Easy, refreshing. 747414
3.3 330ml bottle. Clear pale golden to yellow with small white head. Aroma is juicy pineapple, salt, light herbs and light lemon peel. Taste is slightly tart and light lactic with pineapple, salt, herbal notes and lemon with quick passing bitterness. Light, almost a tad watery mouthfeel, strong carbonation and thin yet dry aftertaste.
3.4 Bottle at home. Pours yellow color, small white head. Aroma is lightly citrusy, sourish. Taste is sour, bret, citrusy, some hops.
3.3 Tap at The Mill 25/8/7. Light, fresh with zingyness. Pineapple is light but very present and cuts the salt well, up and down with salty beers but this def works. The light wheat base also eases its session ability. Enjoyed
3.5 Restrained tart aroma in a light gold pour. Similarly restrained sour flavour profile with a juicy tropical fruit body and nicely balanced hint of salt in the finish. An excellent example of the style - made even better by its low strength (which allows one to partake of generously).
3.6 Robe or pâle, fine mousse.
3.7 On tap at Hashigo Zake. Pours gold. Pineapple, minerally, peach, lemon juice. Nice balance of fruit and sour. Fun.
3.8 Bottle from 100 piv. Aroma: pineapple, lemon peel, junipers, lactic sourness. Hazy yellow color, small white head, light body. Taste: pineapple, zest, tartness. Enjoyable beer.
3.1 Bottle from Pezinská pivná pumpa. My first gose. Let it be a benchmark. Light beer. Sourness is just enough for lawnmowing. Refreshing, though I couldn’t find promised pineapple.
3.2 Tulip on tap at Slowbeer, Fitzroy. Hazy yellow beer with thin collar of suds, light carbonation. Nose is salty and sour. Light and fizzy with salt prominent. Finish has slight lingering fruit notes amongst the salt. Nice, refreshing but no obvious pineapple.
3.0 Pale blond with thin head. Aroma has lots of citrusy yellow fruits. Flavour is milder and dry. Watery texture.
3.3 Smell rotten pineapple and some soap water, light grassy. Light sweetness with moderate to light tartness. Decent refreshing, but not excited by aroma
3.0 Aroma: The goose (bird) had diarrhea and it has been swimming after the "process" in the mash. Taste: Carbonized, grape fruit, refreshing.
2.5 Bottle from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer. Pale yellow, reasonable head. Grassy yeasty pineapple aroma. Bitter lemon and lime flavour. Sour aftertaste. Light & refreshing but not really my sort of beer.
3.3 Draught at Brewers Beer Bar, Göteborg, on July 8, 2017. A bit hazy straw yellow color, white nice head. Fruity, watery, acidic taste. Acidic, fruity aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, very low bitterness. Acidic, fruity scent. 7/3/7/3/13=3.3
3.5 One of Omnipollo’s variations on the ancient Gose theme, resurrected from the dead by a couple of venturous German breweries in the eighties and nineties and now a staple of the global craft beer movement; this one "conditioned on pineapple". Egg-white, irregular and rather loosely knit, but well-developing and stable head over a lightly hazy pale straw blonde beer with greenish hue, more equally misty with sediment. Aroma of sourdough, old lemon juice, cold Sauerkraut, fresh samphire, unripe pineapple juice perhaps but could be autosuggestion and certainly not the sweet, tropical fragrance of the ripe fruit, yellow grapefruit peel, sweat, cucumber, starfruit, green apple, halloumi, sour cream, withered dill, spoilt Camembert cheese and even some less flattering old urine (the hops?) in the end, becoming ever stronger as the sediment goes in, eventually even not unlike near-rotting cod. Crisp, bright onset, a ’cristalline’ texture of lemony acidity, sharpish and probably coming from the pineapple, the actual flavour of which again remains very subdued, with starfruit- and unripe green gooseberry notes as well, blending in with a softer lactic sourness but nevertheless stretching till the very end, with pleasantly drying effect; meanwhile a clear ’side’ saltiness builds, combining with the fruit acidity to give an impression of preserved lemons. Soapy wheat and a vaguely bready pale malt sweetishness lie underneath this play of sour and briny, medium carbonated, with the finish becoming very soapy, probably due to the use of coriander, a classic ingredient in this style. Sour, very soapy, mildly salty finish also yields some retronasal citrus peel-like hop impressions; hop bitterness, not desirable in this style anyway, remains very soft and subtle, not interfering with the sourness and saltiness. The crisp, softly lemony-acidic sourness, again probably the result of the pineapple that went in here, gets the last word and makes for a very quenching ending; only after swallowing, a lingering, spicy hop bitter touch appears on the root of the tongue - must be among the latest entrances of it I encountered so far. Interesting and quite complex for a 3.5% ABV beer, flavourful, but the urine- and spoilt fish-like, stinky odour did put me off for a while, though admittedly it also completely faded away again in the end so I will not be too severe in this respect. What I most regret here, is the pineapple effect: I expected the lush, tropical sweetness of it to pierce through the general salty-sour-soapy Gose profile, but I waited in vain... It seems the pineapple only added basic fruit acidity, which in this context comes across more as lemony or hard gooseberry-like. Which is a shame, because the mango in the Bianca Mango Lassi Gose from the same brewing company did impress me with its expressive tropical mango sweetness, cleverly interwoven in the overall Gose structure. This, though certainly enjoyable as a very quenching sour, seems like a missed opportunity in comparison.
3.3 Bolltle from saveur biere. Nice ligth yellow colour, really drinkable, nice hint of salt. Dont really like the choice of hops.
3.5 Bottle at Bottlecraft, Hanley. Pours pineapple juice yellow. Quite funky, sour pineapple, good salty finish. Good palate cleanser and refreshing.
3.5 Vycap Urban house. Bledo zlta farba, slaba pena. Vona jemne citrus, ananas a najma zatuchlina! Chut sladova, psenicna, citrusova, trosku limetka. Stredne telo, vyssia nasytenost.
2.6 10/20 very subtle gose which is easy to drink. can’t really taste the pineapple though and it’s a bit bland
2.9 Bottle. Color open yellow with small white head. Aroma pineapple, some sour, citric. Taste sour, pineapple, herbal. citrus.
3.4 Przejrzyste i klarowne. Aromat owocowy, lekko siarkowy. W smaku lekko kwaśne, słonawe, trochę owoców, ale raczej wytrawne, niż soczyste.
