Omnipollo Nathalius Single Hop Galaxy IIPA

Omnipollo Nathalius Single Hop Galaxy IIPA

On a stop over in Baltimore we were hosted by an overwhelmingly hospitable man – Brian Strumke aka Stillwater. Getting hammered drinking his potions - made out of rice and corn - it was with a sense of inspiration that we drove of early in the morning to catch out flight back to Sweden. Nathalius is an imperial IPA brewed with rice and corn. However, fair and alluring as though she might seem this miss will whip you into submission.

3.2 Bottle from BarleyWine, CPH - golden coloured pour with white head. Prominent malty and citrus hoppy aroma and taste, very earthy yeasty and malty, lots of herbal nuance, and a veeeeeery overt bitter finish, almost to bitter for my palate.
3.5 Bottle. Golden pour with tan head. Light malt sweetness and some light citrus aromas. Flavors of citrus and earthy hops, some rye and light my tones.
3.2 pours hazy orange with small white head, quickly gone too thin white lacing. aroma is citrus and corn. taste is extremely bitter, pine, citrus and something odd. medium too full body good carbo with dry bitter finish
2.9 Bouteille. Paris saint bière. Robe dorée et trouble , jolie petite mousse blanche.
2.2 Appearance: Cloudy golden color with a smal white head. Some lacing Aroma: Strange aroma. Hard to describe. Citric and fruity, but not as you think. Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet, a bit acidic and a rich bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Very dry texture. Taste: Acidic fruity. Peach and rice (I quess). Soy sauce. Overall impression: Never again! Personal stats: On tap @ Crowbar in Oslo, Norway.
2.7 33 cl. Hazy golden-orange with a lasting disc of foam. Nose has mostly pleasant earthy caramel and citrus, but then some occasional strange notes of metal and fish sauce. Front tastes of earthy caramel and orange-grapefruit are nice, but the swallow brings a nearly unpalatable starchy cardboard bitterness. Medium body is soft and finishes astringently dry with a medium-high carbonation.
3.2 Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes goldenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hopfig, fruchtig, malzig. Geschmack fruchtig malzig, Citrus, leicht bitter.
2.9 Barwa: złocista, wyraźnie zmętniona. Piana biała, obfita, drobno pęcherzykowa, do tego ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Aromat: chmielowo - alkoholowy. Głównie ziołowy, może nieco cytrusowy, przypominający chmiel w granulkach, ostry, niezbyt przyjemny. Dopiero z czasem nieco zyskuje. Smak: słodowy, pełny z natychmiastową chmielową kontrą. Goryczka dość wysoka, ściągająca, pozostawiająca nieprzyjemny posmak. Jakby zielona, łodygowa. Kolejne piwo Omnipollo, pozostawia jeszcze gorsze wrażenie.
3.4 On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, february 15th 2014. Hazy orange body with a nice white head. Aroma of toffee, mango, peach, lime, grass. Taste of bread, peach, orange, mango and pine. Solid bitterness, with a strange spicy taste throughout. Medicinal aftertaste, luckily with a good amount of the fruits as well.
3.1 Wheat in the fragrance. A hearty yeast flavor with hints of nuts. Heavy and intense bitterness completes the long aftertaste. It gets better the warmer it gets. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.7 Draft at Hopcat GR - pours a hazy light orange . Big bitter citrus rind aroma . Taste is total grapefruit pith . Very bitter .
3.2 Bottle. An unclear, yellowish-orange beer topped by a dense, off-white head of moderate size. Almost chalky on the nose, with some citrusy, piney notes and malty sweetness. Lacking complexity all the way. Very bitter on the palate, with grassy, citrusy herbal notes and a little sweetness. Some warmth on the palate, full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Way out of balance this one, and not very well composed. 140418
3.1 Bottle 330ml @ yngwie Pours slightly hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, spicy and hop pellets. Taste is light sweet and heavy bitter with a dry and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.0 Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, grains , flour, herbs and hop pellets. Flavor is sweet and bitter with some citrus, orange peel, herbs and more bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.9 Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Dug the psych label artwork. Poured a hazy pallid orange with a small white head. Aroma was tropical fruits, orange, ganja. Bitter sweet flavour with notes of citrus, booze, and spice. Somewhat robust hop bitterness. Interesting and tasty brew captain. Looks to be under rated.
3.5 Thanks to Alex at Pinocchios in Media for a sample if this interesting brew. Pours a clear light amber with some floral hops and maybe honey in the aroma. The flavor is peppery bitter with a bit of the sweetness up front. Very crisp and dry.
3.2 Bottle from Erzbierschof - Hazy yellow color, beautiful white head long persistence and beautiful lacing - Aroma is citrusy, grapefruit, lemon, mandarin, candied fruits and malty - Flavor is herbal, grassy, resinous, malty - Medium body, extreme bitterness, fizzy carbonation, bitter bitter bitter bitter finish - too bitter not balanced
3.9 330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/30/2015. Pours hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, pepper, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of bright/dank citrus/earthy hops with light-moderate malt presence; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, pepper, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of earthy pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, pepper, pine, floral, grass, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity of bright/dank citrus/earthy hop flavors with light-moderate malt sweetness; with lightly cloying pine bitterness after the finish which isn’t all that bad. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and resinous/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice DIPA. Good complexity of bright citrus/earthy hop flavors with light-moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
2.9 Draft, pours cloudy orange with white head. Aroma is sweet with citrus and tropical fruits. Flavours is sweet, hippy with citrus, tropical and spicy notes.
3.6 33 cl bottle @ Timo A. Pours hazy orange-golden color with a small head. Aroma is nice and hoppy, some floral notes, mandarin and sweetish fruits, mild caramel malts also. Flavor of citric fruits, resinous hops, toffee and gooseberries. A bit off-notes on the flavor, otherwise quite nice. 4424
1.2 Small bottle. Very hazy gold, big white head. Nose is alright, very piney, citrus... flavour is extraordinarily bitter, tastes like trub. Bile. Could be because the malt base has been replaced so there’s nothing balancing it... or the trub never settled so they filtered the flecks out through a mesh. Cool of them to experiment with ingredients many craft brewers are afraid to touch, but completely unpalatable.
3.3 Draft at SB. Pours a murky pale gold with a dense and creamy white head. Big bright sweet tropical tangy nose. Insanely dry, puckery acetic undertones. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Ridiculously dry mid palate, just sandy, with a big blast of oily tropical pineapple tang over the top of that. Long puckery dry finish. Would like to try this again fresh.
3.2 Poured from 12pz bottle. Yellow cloudy pour. Says IPA and ratebeer says special grain? Lemon scent. Fruity bitter taste with mild hops. Not bad
2.4 On tap at Christian Firtal. Cloudy yellow with a big white head. Perfumed sweet fruity and floral aroma with spice and a bit of yeast. Sweet and bitter, and quite strange flavour with some spice, pine and licorice. Very harsh and sharp bitterness
3.7 Keg at Craft Brighton, Friday 7th March 2014 Pours a egg yolky yellow sort of colour but a slightly washed out probably caged hen egg yolk, its hazy with a white head. Its pricey was my thirst though £5.50p a half, so it better be wirth it and indeed it was bloody good. Furiously hoppy with lots of lemon rind, pith and zippy, zappy citrussy hops flying about. Quite tangy with a lengthy bitter finish, perhaps lacks a bit of body i.e. malty backbone (its very hoppy) but we both enjoyed this. A7 A4 T8 P3 Ov15 3.7
3.0 0.33l bottle. Have to admit I struggled a while to interpret the name on the back of this bottle, but after a while it came to me. It pours a good looking cloudy almost honey colored body, on top of that a big lasting white colored head with great retention. The nose has a nice citrus theme supplied with the oils from orange zest, a strong and powerful malt sweetness behind all those American hops. I get tones of both yeast and honey. Strong and really dry grassy bitter in the taste. Somehow it manages not to be to dry or mouthdrying, but it is some serious grassy bitterness in this one. The carbonation level is just below average and it feels oily in the mouth. Sharp stingy, lots of pungent bitterness. Those zesty oils are also present in the taste. It’s perhaps a bit unbalanced, but it has lots of flavor. 10.10.2013
2.2 Tap @ C4, Odense. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Massive spices. Yeast, leather and pepper. Really dry and bitter. Filthy.
3.4 aroma good, but man this one is unblanced and hurts when you swallow. experiment, i think so, partly failed.
3.4 Bottle @ unibaren. Cloudy orange, small white head, okay lacing. Aroma, malty, nice hoppy notes of fruit, orange, passion fruit, pine. Taste, malty, very bitter pine taste, fruit, orange and passion fruit. Very bitter tart aftertaste.
4.1 Aroma of citrus, beautiful glowing golden hazy beer. Very clean tasting, good bitterness, slightly astringent. Good amount of hop in aroma and taste. Medium bodied, huge white head. Good beer.
