4.0Bottle. Black, small brown head. Nose, chocolate dough, nuts. Sweet taste, full body, really evoking a sweet chocolate nut cake. A nice dessert.
3.4Tap. Pours Black with a small beige head. Intense pecan nuts, cookie dough and Cocoa. Hard to sense Any barrel ageing really. Quite artificial to say the least. Warming and Sweet.
1.1Luktar mjölkchoklad, disksvamp, bakjäst, gröna äpplen. Smakar surt som fan, blåbär, metal, soja, gammalt kött. Helt odrickbar!
4.2Pours chocolate like with a medium head, aroma of chocolate, moka, flavor of chocolate, moka, toffee, coffee, caramel, medium to full bodied
4.0Draught at Brewdog Helsinki. Black color, beige head. Bitter taste with roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, vanilla, a bit of bourbon, bread and coffee. Bitter finish with roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, nuts, a bit of bourbon, coffee and dark fruits. Excellent imperial stout.
3.3Many problem on my bottle, nose is intense like the regular version with some oak and cognac, a bit confused maybe, pitch black wth a good tan head, full body, soft carbonation, then sour and tart everywhere, some choco and barrel but definitely this beer is not well aged...the regular is a bit too pastry for me, i'm sad for this evolution because the barrel can give a balance for my palate in this type of beer. some of this days we retry with the bourbon version...omnipollo you're not my favorite brewery but certainly you're not so bad.
5.0Gift via Pub'R. Pours thick and turbid blackish with minimal head. Nose is huge pecan, hazelnut, chocolate, peanut butter, mild oak, bourbon. Tastes rich, smooth, with great notes of pecan, walnut, almond, hazelnut, peanut butter, chocolate, graham cracker, oak, bourbon. I'd love to know how they made this beer, because if I could freeze it, I'd eat it like candy. There are so many dessert staples dancing around, it is amazing! It is apples and oranges somewhat, but this beer is Dark Lord 2006's sweeter cousin! It is that damned good!
3.6Bottle at Broken dreams Borlänge. Black color, small brown head. Aromas of chocolate cake, pecan, vanilla and slight vinous hints. Sweet taste of chocolate, vanilla and cognac. Tart finish with cherries and wine. I suspect this beer hasn't aged that well, because the tart, almost sour finish felt very out of place.
3.8Bottle shared with the KL tasting crew. Poured a clear dark brown with a round bubbly off white head. The aroma is rich roasty, big pecan nut, alcohol, oaky peaty, sweet sugary malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich oily sweet fruit, light liquorice, warm alcohol, dry coffee palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation and an oily mouthfeel.
4.2A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 7th July 2020. Poured into a snifter. It was black in colour with a half finger mocha head that dissipates quickly while leaving some sparse lacing. Aromas of chocolate, pecan, caramel and whisky with hints of vanilla and cognac. Tastes of sweet milk chocolate with a nice pecan nuttiness. There are also hints of oak, cognac and peat. Full bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Overall this particular bottle was nice and tasty, but I don’t think that the barrels improved the base beer. It should be noted that this beer has had it’s share of infection. This is my third bottle now, of which I’ve had two good and one infected. The infected bottle clearly tasted sour and was just not pleasant to drink. You will know if you have an infected bottle, so I guess it’s a bit of the luck of the draw at this point.
3.6Bottled 33 cl at Haket, Göteborg, on June 16, 2017.
BB 2020-07-07.
Black color, very small tan head. Sweet, chocolate, malty, alcohol, light roasted, milky, milk chocolate scent, a bit too boozy. Sweet, acidic, charred, chocolate, lactic, cherries taste. Warming alcohol. Growing a bit disturbing CO2 mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Chest warming alcohol. Also smells of coconut and (canned) sausage jus.

4.2A really dark and thick beer, it smells like flowers and chocolate mixed together. The taste is round and bitter with notes of vanilla, coffee and caramel. You can tell it's has aged in cognac barrels, a really god beer!.
3.4330ml bottle (thx, Nick M.!). Pours am almost black with a dark brown. Aroma is chocolate cake with pecans. Taste is sour, fruity, chocolate cake, pecans, with lots of wood. Despite the original was not a perfect, this one is not better.
4.7Dark brown with small brown head.Excellent aroma of chocolate cake. Same for the taste, cake with nice sour dried fruit.
4.0W aromacie orzechy, alkohol, czekolada. W smaku słodycz, orzechy, czekolada, kawa, wanilia, rozgrzewający alkohol, czuć beczkę. Ocena na podstawie notatek przed założeniem konta na RB.
3.312oz bottle thanks to Steve side by with the normal version. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is light chocolate cake but the heavy peat smoke and bandaid take over. Taste is tons of smoke ash roast malts some bandaid. Wow some thing that was so good in a double barrel turned so bad.
4.033cl bottle at home. Pitch black with a medium beige head. Full body with moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitter tones. Chocolate, booze, roasted malts, coffee and ripe dark fruits. Good, but i did like the original better.
3.8330 mL bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is a nice darker black, a little thinner, with a thick ring of bubbly dark khaki head and a couple spots of lace. The aroma is really good. There is a nice bright nuttiness and a strong alcohol. The oak is there and a nice cognac sweetness. It’s an interestingly sharp aroma with a light chocolate and the nuttiness. The flavor is much of the same. It’s got a sharp alcohol and a sweet chocolate and nuttiness. The oak is there, but the strong alcohol is a little surprising. The mouth feel is a little lighter with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly sharp alcohol and a nice chocolate balance. It’s an interesting blend and not as good as I was hoping.
3.8Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, booze, barrel, slightly smoky, pretty good. Appearance is black, light brown head, poured thinnish. Taste is pecans, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, cognac, scotch, barrel, booze. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy body, light carbonation, boozy barrel and pecan aftertaste. Overall, this is either a little past prime or not as good as I expected.
4.2Bottle shared at tasting. Black colour, beige head. Intense aroma of nuts, cake, chocolate, toffee, whisky. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter, chocolate, nuts, cake, whisky. Tannic finish. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Superb, but barrel aging did not improve base beer.
4.0I liked basic version more but still very good. Barells are noticeable aromas as well but in my opinion tastes are not adjusted to each other, still very good
4.4Bottle from crafters Hyvinkää. Black with not much head. Vanilla, sweet, chocolate, sweet with some alcohol bite.
3.9Bottle. Pours dark brown with brown head. Aroma: roasted coffee beans, dark and milk chocolate, wood , dry hay, Taste: dry, bitter, coffee, old dark chocolate, wood. Full. Nice
4.0Bottle, 33cL. @ Naintre, with my dad. A pitch black beer with a medium beige brown oily head ; medium retention. Roast, biscuit, caramel, clove, nut, acid note. Light to medium sweet, light dry bitter, light spicy, light acid. Medium good body, light to medium texture, soft carbonation, bittersweet roasty caramel acid finish. Overall, great !
0.9Bottle. Pours pitch black with a frothy brown head. Aroma is peat, wood, a bit acidic, roast, green vegetables, peppery. Flavour is sour. Yuck. Pretty thin. Obvious infection. I don’t know what bacteria were in here but I sure hope it wasn’t intended. Combination of light peat, chocolate, sourness, balsamic vinegar and veggies is absolutely rancid and utterly undrinkable. Should have had better QC. Don’t like to think I actually paid 10 euros for this. Drainpour after 3 sips.
4.3LCI. Poured from the bottle. A totally different beer than the original, but very good! Whisky, bit of sourness, spicy (cloves). But also some chocolate! More complex!
4.2Bottle. Thick black oily pour. Rich aroma of mocha, pecan nuts, creamy snickers, booze, milk chocolate and caramel. Taste is a real tour of flavors, first it has bitter chocolate, pecan nuts, mocha caramel and then gradually the cognac booze, red fruit and whisky kick in. Finish is sweet, creamy and fruity, with subtle tart from the cognac. Insane beer, really amazing.
3.92017/02/22 - Pours pitch black with a thick, foamy, tan head that slowly reduces and leaves ample, sticky lacing. Aroma is incredible; vanilla ice cream, chocolate cake, pecans, hazelnut, light roast, pie crust, woody notes and hints of whisky. Taste is Nutella, vanilla ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, dark fruits and oak with cognac and whisky. Mouthfeel is oily with smooth carbonation and a sweet, dry, warming finish. Another exceptional Omnipollo stout. I just wish that their beers were easier to get in Canada.
4.3(Omnipollo Noa Pecan Mud Cake - Double Barrel) Bottle 330ml from Beergium. Served into a snifter, ABV 11%.
Thick pour that fills the glass with a pitch black coloured beer, with a tall and thick dark brown head on top, pretty good retention.
Amazing aroma, lots of dark chocolate, pecans, vanilla, cocoa, hazelnuts, milky chocolate, light whiskey notes, more of the cognac ones.
On the taste is the other way around, with lots of whiskey present and the cognac barely traceable, light iodine, again lots of pecans and hazelnuts, all kind of chocolate, light alcohol.
Medium to thick body, good carbonation with a bite, nicely sticky on the palate.
Great beer.
