3.6 Has a nice first taste when it hits your palate and leaves with a bit of honey and orange blossom. Very nice on a hot day.
3.3 Tried this one again (from a can) on a recent trip to Orlando. Interesting orange color - I guess it lives up to its name in that sense. It is refreshing if slightly boring - an easier drinker for hot Florida days.
3.0 DOC: 5/4/2017 2015 BJCP Category: 31B Alternative Sugar Beer (base style: 2B International Amber Lager) AROMA: Sweet nose with a honey-like presence along with clean grainy malt. Slight floral component (unlikely from hops). 8/12 APPEARANCE: Slightly hazy shade of orange proper. Large white soapy suds dissipates quickly and completely. 2/3 FLAVOR: Contrary to the marketing, the palette is indeed sweet with a honey taste. Base malt is a bit generic; mostly amber/pale with faint caramel flavor. No specialty malt character; nor hop presence. Some brief residual sweetness in the aftertaste, otherwise clean. 12/20 MOUTHFEEL: Medium body with medium-low carbonation. Slightly crisp, but feels flat and undercarbonated for the style. Not refreshing, but easy to drink. Overweight at 5.5%. 3/5 OVERALL IMPRESSION: Most definitely not a pilsner, just a honey-flavored lager (which makes it interesting, but not good per se). 5/10 TOTAL SCORE: 30/50
3.0 Can brought back to room I believe the final new brewery tick available at this resort making it far more successful visit in ratebeer terms than I could have dreamed. Nose is honey and floral. Tastes of honey, cereal, floral, light dried grass. Decent enough.
3.3 Draft at Yard House Orlando. Poured amber with white head. Honey malt wheat light hop and fruit. Decent
3.7 Gelbes leicht rüber bier flacher schaum, im geruch honig etwas blumig leichter hopfen, im Geschmack leicht hopfen kaum süß kräuterig blumiger honig Geschmack, wirklich mal eine schöne Variante von honig bier
3.5 12oz Dose aus Florida. Danke an MBlessing!
3.2 This is straight up a pilsner with honey. I really enjoy it living in the state of Florida. Goes down easy with flavor. Surprised about the poor rating. light body, thin feel
2.9 Can. Clear golden yellow color, small white head. Lightly floral aroma with some fruity esters. Taste is floral fruity cereal. OK.
2.7 Pours a golden yellow color. Aromas of grass, cheerios, and some hops. Flavor is typical pilsner, not a lot of hops, a nice smooth taste. Nice and dry in the finish.
2.4 Can: Better than any local ’beer’, refreshing with a nice twist. Great Brew for Roatan.
3.3 Pretty average- honey definitely comes through as it warms up. Unique pils but once is enough. Honey pairs well with the crisp lager notes.
3.3 12 oz can pours a yellow color with a nice white head. Aromas of orange, floral. Light bodied, refreshing and nice.
3.6 Can from Whole Foods Market in Winter Park, FL. Aroma is honey and orange blossoms. Taste is sweet honey, some citrus qualities. No real Pilsener elements (other than the honey) but a weird Orlando staple. This would sell well at Trader Joe’s (along with the Toasted Coconut Porter)...a little bit novelty.
3.8 A nice Pilsner with a citrus brightness and malt foamy Carmel. Sweetness obvious. A very nice beer for a Pilsner. Not a German pilz more a fruity American Pilsner.
2.8 Bottle 0,33l. Pours a dark golden colour. Aromas of grain and raw honey. Taste of malts and hops.
2.5 Can (Sep 2015 canning). Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly/fully diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of DMS and honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Simple and dirty.
2.9 Golden color with short with head. Hint of honey in the aroma. Malt, honey and some flowers, crispy taste.
3.3 On tap in Fl. Poured amber gold with min head. Aroma sweet honey. Light carb med bod. Taste sweet honey amber ale.
2.4 Can. Clear light amber body with a short, off-white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, raw grain, straw. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Honey taste that’s sweet from start to finish. But then there’s grain and corn in the background.
2.7 Golden coloured body with a hint of an orange highlight and a dense three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of honey, earth, malt, cardboard and a bit of unfinished yeast. Light-bodied; Malt noticeable up front with some light cardboard and some mellow metallic and floral notes, but some more aggresive honey and sweetness at the end. Aftertaste shows some of the malt and metal with some yeast coming through, but the honey is by far the most dominant, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Overall, a light and sweet beer that shows well for the style and for the reason to drink it (hot outside and a you want a light beer). I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Knightly Spirits (Orange Blossom Trail) in Orlando, Florida yesterday on 01-October-2015 for US$1,99 sampled in my hotel room (WDW Swan) on 01-October-2015 just after arriving!
2.7 Can, thanks cards04. Golden amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma is a little malty with floral and subtle honey notes. Flavour is much the same, plus a touch of citrus. Too sweet to be really enjoyable.
3.0 Pours a dark golden. Aromas of grain and raw honey. Nice malt and hop balance. Crisp and pretty decent for the style.
2.9 Thanks cards04. Crystal orange body, fizzy white head, not much retention or lacing. Sweet candy orange aroma. Taste is also quite sweet, has a sugary taste like Welch’s Grape Juice, a bit of breadiness, syrup, all kind of watery though. Smooth palate, not much pep.
2.6 Amber colour - dark for a Pilsner. Light body, well carbonated. No particularly strong flavour - a bit of malt, some sweetness that could be honey and some fruit that could be orange. OK.
2.3 Very light slightly sweet malty smell, grape flavor off the bat...fake grape taste, light flavor all malt, smooth though
3.0 Golden pour, translucent, small head. Wet grains, faint metal. Light body. Not great but not horrid.
2.7 can in trade. light light pour not much aroma. some creaminess in taste; not sure about honey though. meh..
2.6 Cab from Beer Frog cons 2015-05-10 Spring Hill AR: wee honey floral AP: coppery clear, frothy head F: fizzy, dry, wee floral orange, watery feeling, dry finish
2.9 12oz bottle, purchased 2/23/15 from Habersham in Savannah. Clear golden color. Little white head, that fizzes to a ring. Loose bits of lace. Medium body. Kind of slick, then mild dry in the finish. Lighter carbonation. I’m liking the aroma more than I thought I would. Orange creme, some floral, and honey. Doughy malt. Moderately sweet, but not overly sweet. Just dry enough for it to be reasonable. Interesting, decent stuff. Better than expected. Kind of tasty. Nervous to try the OBP2 version though, still.
