Orpheus Atalanta Tart Plum Saison

Orpheus Atalanta Tart Plum Saison

In the heroine Atalanta, we see the traits of what we aim for in all of our beers: piquant, deceptively robust, and a bit wild. A tart plum saison, Atalanta tastes of plums intermingling with spicy yeast, and a refreshing tartness that makes Atalanta as good for pairing with food as by itself.

Food pairing

Atalanta is mildly assertive, fruity, acidic, and dry. Its acidity and fruitiness make it an ideal complement to most cheeses and oysters. Its dryness and only mild assertiveness means it can also be paired very well with poultry and delicate fish, but it has enough flavor to also be paired nicely with a strong curry.

2.7 12 oz can. Thanks Timo A! Enjoyed on Nov 8, 2019. Clear pale golden color with a small white head. Farmyard, fruits, rhubarb, sweetness and some maltiness in the aroma. The flavor is dry, tart, fruity and malty. No. This is not for me.
3.5 Light golden, small, aroma is tart, fruit, peppery, dry, taste is the same, tart, dry, nice

4.3 Hazy light golden with a thin foamy white head. Lovely tart pale aroma with lovely plummy notes and a delightful sour complexity that’s fruity and peppery. Bright flavor that’s pale and lightly sour and peppery and fruity with nice plum nuances. Lovely and complex.

3.5 Tap at Murphy’s Law. Bit hazy yellow golden with white head. Kettle sour, soft yeast, pils malts, yoghurt, light flowery, kumquat, soft plum. Under medium sweet and sour, light bitter. Over light bodied.
3.7 Slightly cloudy light yellow orange. Tart n slightly funky nose and flavor. Moderate pucker for a saison. Plum is subtle under the yeast, but nice.
4.1 Wow! What an awesome sour ale! Pours hazy straw with thin white head, aroma is plum with citrus, taste is plum, yuzu, yeast, little carbonation, very tasty beer, balanced tartiness, would go awesome with seafood.
3.5 Tap at BrewDog Manchester. Pale yellow. White head. Dry, tart and crisp taste. Plum and green apple flavours. Refreshing stuff.
3.3 12 oz. canned 09/20/2018. Foggy straw colored brew with a sticky meringue foam on top. Aroma is lactic acid with faint notes of pear, white grape and plum. Flavor is the same mix plus a bit of rusty apple. Light-medium bodied with medium-high fizz and a good balance.
3.6 Aroma is nothing like a saison, no Belgian yeast and a hint of sour plums. Pours a cloudy straw color with a thin white head. Taste is a slightly tart plum flavor, with a lighter body and a tart finish. A very refreshing beer.
3.5 W aromacie biała i czerwona porzeczka. W smaku biała porzeczka. Do Brettów daleko, ale na pewno ni chuja nie mogę się doszukać tej śliwki. Piwo dobre, bardzo kwaśne, o smaku białej porzeczki.
4.5 My go to after work for sure.
3.4 Keg at brewdog Lothian road. Pours hazy yellow, nose is citrus, floral, light funk, taste is juicy fruit, toffee, zesty.
3.5 More tart than Saison. A slightly nauceaous smell and lactic taste. Sourness by the fermentation and the plums
3.6 Nice tartness with little saison spiciness. A little stale almost cardboardlike oxidation but still a effervescent refreshing beer with a nice balance of mild sweetness and tartness.
3.8 July 2018 - Keg at Brewdog, short review with Teresa. As 'Orpheus Atalanta Tart Plum Saison'. Hazy yellow with foamy off-white head. Aroma musty lemon almost gose-like salinity (to the extent it's possible to smell that), cucumber, biscuit. Nice. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is tangy lemon yoghurt, biscuit malt, light salt, lemon oil infused brine in a good way, lemon meringue with oily citrus and some tangy yellow plum. Very nice. (8-4-7-4-15=3.8)
3.6 On tap at Orpheus, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle tart plums and subdued saison yeast. Flavour is quite mellow, with gentle plums, fairly restrained tartness, and a bit of a farmhouse character. Clean and nicely balanced, with a high drinkability. Good stuff.
3.1 Draft @ Seven Dials. Very pale yellow in appearance, zesty lemon nose. Very tart but without a too overwhelming finish.
3.8 355 ml. can shared with SinH4. Milky citrus,… Nose is very milky, yoghurt, kettle sour, sour hops,.. Milky lemon, not much clear plum but nice yoghurt, lime, kettle sour, same for the body, juicy sour fruit vague. Basic but tasty & fun to drink.

3.5 Keg at BrewDog Seven Dials, Soho. Hazy yellow. Plum and sour fruit aroma. Nice tartness and easy drinking.
3.7 At brettfest. Aroma of tart, barf, malt and citrus. Taste has smooth plum, citrus, bready malt, fresh stonefruit and oak. Nice.
3.6 Bright, crisp tart farmhouse ale, with a pronounced citric sourness rounded out by a modest plum sweetness and grassy saison notes. Hints of vanilla, white grape, and yeast lead to a dry, acidic finish. The tartness, while prominent, never grows puckeringly assertive, while the plum slowly makes its presence known as the pint warms. Not a classic, but a nice pint on a warm afternoon. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a lasting white head and good lacing. Subdued nose has mild traces of grain, plum, and yeast. Sparkly, light texture is good for the style. Tasty.
2.8 Very little aroma to this, a very cloudy yellow like a watered down pineapple juice. Very light bodied, clean and leaves little on the palate except a slight tart and very very light malt profile. There is slight tomato aftertaste to this.
3.6 Turbid light yellow with a white head. Aroma is sour fruit, white pepper, wheat and light burnt rubber. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and medium sour. Palate is light body, thin feel, with fizzy carbonation.
1.5 355ml can - thanks martjoobolut! (3:2:3:2:5=1.5) Terrible vinegary sour aroma, some vegetable marinade, lots of lemon. Pale, hazy. Watery gherkin juice taste. Brief finish, cucumbery. Make that no finish, apart from some lacto-cube trauma. Garbage juice, but state tick, so woo-hoo!
