Bottle: Unfiltered The Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.

3.51 anno e 3 mesi.
3.5Bottle from Whole Paycheck. Wine glass @home. 14/12/2021, 6.9%.
Purty, tall, almost bubble-less, lathered head.
White pepper, dry rosemary, good bread. Smells great.
Dusty, flour-y, saline, dirt dry crust. Not my favorite example of Orval. No detectable brett.
Frothy, easy.
Need an older bottle.
4.0Cloudy amber beer with superb head. Aroma is a little funky with som herbal spice. Taste is malty & spicy , a little tart then big hoppy finish and quite bitter. High carbonation but a big mouthfeel . Very drinkable Uneven depending on the brett character and freshness tough. Drunk two totally different.

4.3Bottle at Hops, Crewe with appropriate glassware. Pours a hazy golden amber with a decent yeasty off-white head. Nose is like a brown ale with malts and yeast. In the mouth it has a frothy texture with fairly high carbonation. Flavour is mainly malts and yeast plus cloves, bubblegum band hitns of bacon and treacle. Finish is boozy and waming. Only one word for this s-s-s-superb !
1.8Niet mijn smaak redelijk bitter.
4.0Belgicka klastorna klasika
3.6Bottle 0,33L. Cloudy brown color with huge, frothy, long lasting, off-white head. Aroma of dried fruits, leather, herbs, yeast, slightly funky. Taste starts light acetic and vinous, while finish is medium bitter, grassy and herbal. Medium body, lively carbonation, dry texture. Smooth and sharp at the same time.
4.7Nice strong, a little bitter
3.6Piwo brunatne, zamglone, piana wysoka, szybko opada i brudzi szkło.
Wysycenie wysokie.
4.9330ml Bottle from Beersniffers Webshop, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Cleveland 2022 and also sampled in 2010, 2005, 2003.
Hazy amber coloured with a huge rocky white head of foam. It has a dried fruit and peppery hop flavour with herbal and floral notes, yeast, sourness and cherry and soft fruit notes on the smooth, warming finish. Excellent!
4.0Pours amber yielding an enormous white head. Aroma, to my nose, is wheat, leather, fruity. The flavor is surprisingly refreshing with a bright palate. Excellent beer with a heavy meal.
3.733 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma and flavour are Belgian yeast, leather, lemons, and malt - with a dry finish.
4.6Amer
2.6Cloudy brown with a full off white head. Fruity smell, fermented raisins and prunes. Coca cola. Bitter, peaty, smokey taste, dried fruit, banana, some sourness, lingering bitterness. High carbonation. Not my favourite trappist beer.
4.0Hazy medium dark golden color. Lots of head which lingered for a while. Medium body with slight hop aroma. Definitely hop biased but not quite as much as Duvel. Clean dry finish and moderate high carbonation.
3.6From the Bottle 29/07/2011 Floral fruity yeasty aroma. Slight carbonation. Small white head. Golden amber coloured smooth on the palate floral and strong in alcohol with a slightly fruity and bitter full malt finish.
4.0Bottle 33 cl. Hazy yellowish-brown. Aroma: like from a perfume shop, powerful, from many shades of malt and hops + magic yeast how these monks do it - is not clear. Taste: dry, malty, spicy, a bit wild, grassy, hoppy, very interesting.
2.7Amberkleurig bier met een witte volle schuimkraag. Behoorlijke oversaturatie in de fles. Bier spoot uit de fles. Een beetje een muffige geur. Smaken fruitig en moutig. Gedroogd fruit met een vleugje caramel. Tevens gistsmaak duidelijk aanwezig.
3.633cL bottle at home
Hazy golden with an extremely frothy cream head.
Aroma is sweet, with the familiar bouquet of Belgian blondes and triples. Notes of hops, dried apricot, flowers.
Taste is extremely classic for its style. Hard to describe. Fresh and hoppy without being too bitter, nicely balanced with a bit of malty sweetness.
Texture is full with stinging carbonation.

2.5Bière très amère en fin de bouche
5.0Excellente
4.0Altijd lekker. Het wordt zo een avond.
3.6Bottle from House of Trembling Madness, online. Drank 2 months after bottling
Pours a murky amber with moderate sized white head
Aroma of yeasted candied peel and pineapple, caramel.
Its very dry and brett like with a champagne like carbonation. Lots of candied fruits and caramel.
I like it, its very different, but I don't love it. Maybe its one that's better aged.
