Oskar Blues Beerito

Oskar Blues Beerito

From its uncanny name to its unique mouthfeel (and everything in between), Beerito rolled up the rulebook and took a blowtorch to it. That’s exactly why we dig it. Beerito is a light bodied, amber Mexican lager brewed with premium international and coloRADo-sourced craft malts, featuring a crisp accent from noble hops. The mouthfeel is thick, creamy and incredibly smooth with flavors of walnut, toasted bread, plum, honey and cocoa- 4.5% ABV beers don’t usually come with this kind of character, but this sure as hell does (4.5% ABV, 21 IBUs).

3.0 Can from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is toasted bread with caramel malt, a hint of fruits, and nutty notes. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. A fine Amber Lager.
3.3 Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually. Strings of lace. Aroma of malt, fruit and hops. Light body with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and a bit of earthy hop. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.4 12 oz can purchased at Harry's Liquor in Leawood, Kansas. The pour is slight haze copper reddish with a smallish white head. The aroma is cereal, slightly caramel malt nose along with some floral. The taste is toasted malt, caramel honey sweet, slightly floral in the finish. The palate is light to medium bodied, active carbonation and the floral slightly sweet finish. Tasty Amber Lager - not sure if I identify Amber Lager with Mexican Lager, but I was happy with this one.
3.3 Can. Pours a clear, brown color, with a big, tan head and lovely lacing. Wheat bread, nice peat, leather, pine, and caramel. Sweet, with a significant bitterness. Medium body, with a sticky, clingy mouthfeel. This is a surprisingly hoppy amber lager. Pretty nice.
2.8 Tap at flying saucer, nashville. Amberish red color, white head. Toasty aroma, some caramel notes, some fruits. Little bit weak body, caramel notes, some fruity notes.
3.2 On tap at Oskar Blues - Austin, pours s hazy copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted bread, some nuts and a little fruitiness. Flavour follows accordingly, with toasted bread, toasted nuts, and a little red fruitiness. Nicely constructed, but not terribly exciting.
2.7 Sweet grain and bread malts, caramel, dark, brown toast. Clear, dark gold, small, creamy, white head. Light sweet. More grain and cereal malts, caramel, molasses, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Boring. Keg at GABF17, Denver.
3.6 Bready malts, sweet plum and a little chocolate on the finish, not a Mexican lager, but a flavourful and robust dark lager that is a good choice with salty meats. Decent.
3.0 Can 12fl.oz. @ MBWF 2017 [ Malmö- Öl & Whiskyfestival 2017 ], Malmömässan, Mässgatan 6, 215 32 Malmö, Sweden. [ As Oskar Blues Beerito ]. Clear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, toasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sugary, toasted, caramel, sweet malt, thin. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20170311] 6-3-6-3-12
3.2 Amber color with a fine tan head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Fine body and a fine carbonation level. Decent sweetness, Caramel malt, bready and mild fruity. Mexican lager? Ha ha viva me hi co. far far from that shit. A quite nice and east drinkable Vienna. [Can – gift from London Craft Beer Festival]
3.0 Poured deep amber color with a 2 inch light tan head that hung around for a good while. Definitely pick up malt in the aroma and malt, bread and something sweet, maybe honey as per the description in the taste. Body as a little too light for my liking but this was decent and drinkable (with my Chipotle steak burrito in fact), just not notable.
2.8 Can. Fairly dark amber pour, sticky top. Malty and cloying, very much in the Vienna lager vein IMHO. I think their description is fairly accurate -- toast, honey for sure. Not bad. (#6793, 9/24/2017)
3.0 Draft at Baja Sexto. Pours a deep copper with a finger of fluffy foam. Light malt, some grass and toasted caramel on the nose. Light and easy drinking, perhaps a touch more body than a standard amber lager. Nothing wrong with this.
1.7 Aroma etwas plädderich, im Trunk wässrig, leicht malzig, mittig bitter, völlig charakterarm. Trinkbar, aber ohne Ausschläge.
3.1 Pours slightly hazy, amber with a thin white head and average carbonation. Aroma is of lightly roasted malts, some caramel and fine hop. Taste is crisp, refreshing, some toasty malt flavour with hint of caramel and nuttiness. Very little hop bitterness. A tasty Amber lager, very flavoursome for just 4% ABV.
3.3 Can, pours a hazy amber gold, small whit head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee, noble hop. Light medium body, crisp texture, dry, long bitter finish.
3.1 12 oz. can. Canned 06/06/17. 4.5% ABV per the label. Pours a medium, well retained, ivory head over a clear deep amber (SRM 13) body.....nose is light roasted malts with slight cocoa, cracker, toast, mild hop spice......taste is moderate malts with light toast, hints of cocoa, moderate hop spice, dry throughout, finishing with mild bitterness, no esters......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a relatively light, clean beer which comes relatively close to meeting the stated style, except that malt complexity and intensity in both aroma and flavor is a bit too low. BJCP 7/3/12/4/7
2.5 Can from Beer52. Pours dark for a lager, I would describe it as light chestnut. Minimal head, in fact minimal carbonation full stop, which again doesn't scream 'Mexican cerveza'. Smells of the cheap kind of metallic big brewery lagers with a little sweetness, and initially tastes like that - however that gives way to some nice hints of melon, grass, and some toasted nut flavour. Hardly any hop flavour, low bitterness, sweet finish. In short, it's all over the shop.
3.2 Clear amber beer with a thin white head. Light, malty aroma. Nutty flavour, honey. Quite light and very slightly watery though. Crisp and refreshing though, it's decent.
2.5 Can/Fest. A- Grains, weak. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Grains, malty. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- Really boring. Even Dos Equis probably has this beat. I certainly don't get any of the notes that the description suggests.
2.8 Deep amber color, beige head. Malty nose, caramel, bread, hint of dried fruit. Sweet taste, metallic, malty, bread, dry finish. Light body, average carbonation. 6, 3, 5, 3, 11
3.4 12 oz. can poured to my sampler glass at the 8th WCD Trade Expo, showing a clear, brownish amber hue, with light cream colored froth, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was mild lager scent, soft grain/malt, a bit of toast, subtle caramel, and a hint of husk. The taste was similar, a little less than medium bodied, with decent carbonation. A pleasant, south of the border type lager.
3.3 Sort of like a premium Corona or Negro Modelo...pretty damn satisfying on a hot, sunny day. This premium take on what are usually considered lesser beers is becoming popular. Is it worth the premium price??? Not sure. I can only say it is marginally better than the cheaper, more popular alternatives--not exponentially better! Multi 12oz can experience.
1.6 12 oz can. Pours hazy amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of caramel malt and red fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Taste is of caramel and something bitter. Terrible brew.
3.0 Tap P&P Kenwood. Soft drinkable beer. 3.0000000000000000000000000000000000
3.3 Draft at the NC source. Pours clear orange-amber with a thin off-white head. Pleasant malty nose with fruit and wheat. Flavors are a little darker with more fruit, toffee, some cocoa notes. Light-medium body and a medium finish. Super session beer.
3.9 Canned in May 2017 - may be new version because it’s 4.5 abv. Which is nice because I note that many of the reviews of the old (?) 4.0 version described watery characteristics. This brew has ample flavor and mouthfeel - it’s quickly become one of my (new) favorite session beers. Exquisitely smooth maltiness with just a hint of hops. caramel, bread, dough, woody,
3.4 355ml can into schooner glass. Nose of sweet nuts and toast. Gorgeous clear copper colour with frothy white head and a myriad of tiny bubbles swirling. Laces well. Flat mouthfeel, light body. Taste is sweet and nutty followed by honey notes and a hint of sour bitterness to balance it out. Nice Vienna lager, easy drinking and smooth.
3.3 Can from Smith’s. Pours hazy copper with frothy, white head. Nose is earthy vienna malt, caramel, nuts. Tastes corn flakey, nutty, earthy, milder hops. Smooth finish.
3.9 Quite tasty. This has just a faint nut flavor mixed in with some nuce malts. Looks abd smells nice. Pretty solid beer.
